He's a midly more talented Kuqi.

I think it's fairly even. Roberts has a lot more pace, but Kuqi is unplayable in the air. Both are impossible to knock over, and neither seem capable of striking the ball cleanly.

Both excellent impact substitutes, but I'd hate to have to rely on either as a first choice striker at this level.

kapo to birmingham

theres no way michael owen will come here aswell..

Kapo's already at Brum. Nicko said he wasn't sure on Kapo going to Wigan anymore and that someone else was in the running.

Owen would do anything if the money was right. We aren't exactly badly located for him if he wanted to live near the M6. His wages would be off the scale but never say never in football. Although Etherington will never sign for us! :rover:

5m for King, thats obscene.

Correct, Woy splashing out big on a very average player. He has a bad habbit of doing that....Christian Dailly and Kevin Davies spring to mind

Would rather have Roberts any day of the week....

To be fair though, if it wasn't for Roberts hitting that shot so poorly after such a great run, it probably wouldn't have taken a deflection and gone in the goal.

I personally don't think Marlon King is any better than Jason Roberts and I certainly wouldn't pay £5 million for an inexperienced player to help with goalscoring problems in a top level club. Saying that, the cost of such an inexperienced player just shows why more and more English clubs buy experienced foreigners over English talent. You could get a player half that price who has played constantly in the Champions League and played for a top side throughout his career.

Let's think.....Roque Santa Cruz 3.5m or Marlon King for 5m........hmmmmmmmm

Roque was a bit of a gamble though - undoubtable talent, but the production wasn't there. It's obviously paid off mind, so we're happy.

As for Marlon King for £5m: Roy Hodgson strikes again! :D

Just a quickie..Portsmouth went in for Kapo and then asked to take him on loan first.

I think that is probably good news as Wigan will try their luck again - and clear the way for Koumas to go.

Keep it quiet  but the other club sniffing round Koumas is Celtic. Strachan has made an inquiry, but oddly he watched another midfield creator yesterday too.

I think Koumas would prefer Blackburn, but this is becoming lively.

Hi all,

have to say it would not make perfect sense to have owen first off injury prone and the wrong side to 30 but if you think as I said before wages at the moment are eating up 75% of the turnover to go for someone who is on £115,000 am not sure the budget would stretch to that so until there is more investment and a takeover is sorted I think players with those wages are out of our range.

Laters all.

It has just been reported on SSN that another club has come in for James McFadden, and terms not agreed with Brum today.

One of the old firm perhaps?

I think that is just an attempt to sort out some issues over personal terms. Nothing is ever easy.

being a poor mans bentley isnt that bad..

how much will koumas cost about???

Wigan paid about £5 million. I think they will take a loss...so I would guess about £3 million. It's quite a lot in my opinion. Where's he going to play?

koumas can play centre mid, or left and right wing..

he would need to learn to defend in central midfield tho-im sure he could do that, considering how dunn has done it..

he will give us the options i think..can compete with pedersen on the left wing...

I know a lot of people don't rate him that highly but I feel that Koumas will had a lot of creativity in the midfield and has the ability to fit anywhere across midfield. He's a decent player and offers something a bit different to what Dunn, Reid and Mokoena can offer in attack and it would mean we wouldn't have to rely on only Bentley getting goals from midfield. At Wigan he hasn't performed up to the standard he got to at WBA but who says Hughes can't help turn it around and put him back on track.

£3 million is probably a bit more than I feel he's worth after his Wigan spell but if we can get him back to how he was under Hughes for Wales then we could get a really good signing here.

I haven't seen a great deal of Koumas, but he certainly had many articles of praise written for his performances in the championship whilst at WBA.

I think he's flexible - i.e he can play anywhere across the midfield. At £3m he's not doubt a risk, but given the money flying about for Mcfadden and King he's reasonably priced.

He has a bit of flair and creativity and we could do with that - even if its only off the bench to start with...

...You know it's bleak when you have to get excited about Jason Koumas!

Sparky has been excellent in the transfer market so far (Compare the number of succesful signings to unsuccessful ones and hardly anyone can match him), and he knows Koumas very well, so if he believes him to be worth £3m then I'll gladly trust his judgement. Wouldn't surprise me if Hughes has wanted to sign him for a long time, but has been put off by the £5m price tag.

Nicko is there any chance of us signing Micheal Owen?

After the past few days I would never write off anything.

The only way I could see that happen is if he came on loan - and Rovers picked up his wages. That would cost around £3 million alone for the rest of the season.

It could be part-financed by increased gates - let's say a further 4,000 for the last eight games which would mean a further £500,000 through the turnstiles.

Put on top of that an extra Sky game or two and you could be talking more money.

Obviously if he shot you to the Champions League it would pay off in fortunes, but if not it would work out at about £1.5 million.

Part of me would love to see the gamble.

But I suspect John Williams would take some persuading - and I would not blame him.

We have 4 decent forwards.

All repeat after me...

We have no right-back...We have no right-back...We have no right-back

If Owen came to Blackburn then i'd probably cry with happiness.

Realistically though, he won't ever come to us unless he's lost a leg and even then he'd probably cost too much in either wages or value.

Owen to Blackburn will never ever happen....

*Keeps fingers crossed*

I though Benni played well on Sunday and I can't see Hughes leaving RSC out but Roberts was superb when he came on against Bolton.

Roberts has more of an impact of the bench than Benni so I reckon Roberts will go daft on saturday !!

I feel sorry for him because he has done well when he has played, I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid like refusing to be a sub.

Personally speaking I think RSC and Roberts look good as a strike partnership. No defenders like facing power and pace. Roberts running onto RSC's lay offs would frighten most defenders.
