[Archived] Nicko's Thread

Recommended Posts

One very GOOD thing about playing for us is the fact that you get time! We support our players and try to help them through tough spells. Not like Spurs, Newcastle and so on. A few examples that spring to mind would be Sherwood and Grabbi. However, it is 12.05am after a few shandies.

With regards to what Nicko stated before and i also did further up the thread we are a nothing in the media and i kind of feel like we finally have a jounalist on our side for once and it feels good.

This is the best thread i have ever read and i hope you stay around for the forseeable future Nicko.

Also, i know you won't want to give out specific details but surely you must live within the North West as in the last few days you have been to see Everton v Preston, Blackpool v Wigan and the SCUM. Maybe, just maybe their is a little bit in you that wants to see a few Rovers games next season with a little more emphasis on us winning.

I'm not worried about taking stick. I get used to that at home anyway. And if you give it you have to take it.

For the record I get as much entertainment out of this as I have out of anything for a long time. I know how papers ignore your club more than anybody. It's been a pain in my butt for as long as I remember. If they waste a story I get less, if they ignore it I get sweet FA.

But before we get too loved up just remember that I will no doubt cop some serious flak the next time I have a story about a club wanting one of your stars.

It's good to know that there is such a massive appetite for news. Happy to toss any scraps I can.

Hey nicko, you've been a breath of fresh air mate. Keep on coming, glad you are enjoying it.

Oh I went off you a bit for watching the clarrots when they weren't playing Rovers but I've got over that now...just.

So it looks like Roque has signed and according to todays LET on the net the fee is £3.8m pund. I world cup 2006 he was voted the "sexiest" player by Kicker magazine.

Terrific signing! A welcome one! It shows our ambition! Beating teams like Porto, Zaragoza and Man City for his signature.

Santa Cruz will make Grabbi and Perez look like the best signings of the decade; the first draughty, rainy East Lancashire day of winter and he'll sulk like an Australian batsman given out plum lbw.

Jim he is signing from Germany where it gets as cold if not colder than East Lancs!

I'm sure after 8 years in europe he will be aware of a bit of rain.

Don't you dare go spoiling jim's moan.

The squad will need to be strong. This UEFA Cup campaign will stretch them.

I thought they missed Tugay today and if they could find a young version then they will really have a chance.

Not Haested I hope. Saw him at Blackburn. One game and sold. That was about right.

Haestad is really small. I spoke to him when he was at Wigan.

I know one game sounds harsh, but that was Paul Jewell's opinion after the Chelsea game.

I saw him a couple of times for their reserves and he did very little.

You could do much better than him.

speaking of dunny i felt he played ok today when he came on looked lively, although was worried hed injured himself charging in for the cross mcCarthy scored from...! thought the back four did well although didnt have much to deal with...

very optimistic..but then again i always am this time of year...only time will tell

another quality attacking midfielder and maybe a right back and we'll be laughing all the way to the top 6...

Sparky makes a point about the soccer grapevine understanding what Rovers are achieving and the club's ambitions

On the BBC commentary yesterday, Steven Reid said that players who leave Ewood tell the ones at the club that they don't realise how fortunate they are playing in such a brilliant set up until they move on.

Hmm, that means West Ham, Liverpool and where else are inferior?

If thats the case why didn't Bellamy come back?
