Bleemin' hell. This is too rich; a journo taking the time off his own schedule to give us info about the goings-on, and he's not even a Rovers supporter, and a few mindless ignorants messed it up for the rest of us. Clearly this site is self-destructive enough to ruin the by far most interesting poster, and similar things have happened in the past (or so I gather). I bet the selected dingbats are probably smirking away by the thought of ruining yet another source of joy to the majority, congratulations.

I will sincerely miss your contributions nicko, as will everyone with half a brain. I'm not going to beg you to come back after the tripe you've encountered, no one really can, but if you do reconsider there will be A LOT of happy faces around.

Right then, some news.

Because of a repeated libel on another thread on this website I will be stopping this 'service' as of now. The newspaper involved is under an obligation not to repeat the story and had to pay me £18,500 for the original.

The original Sunday Express was written by a reporter who was involved in a share-hiking scandal and was sacked by the Daily Mirror. He made up a story to get at his old employers and me. The other writer was a rival football reporter.

It is unusual for a freelance reporter to have to sue a national newspaper. Their smug lawyers said they would never settle. They had to because the story was one of the biggest inventions of all time. They did not have any form of defence. I got the settlement a year later and an apology, above an advert for pile cream. How appropriate was that?

Anyway I would like to thank 'brownie' for the kind invite in the first place. I don't know the guy, but it was appreciated.

The transfer window is always an interesting time and having dialogue with fans over the past few weeks has made it fly by even quicker. I will miss that.

The way you worked out Roque Santa Cruz from an obscure clue was brilliant. The tip about the Man City target was superb work. There are enough good people out there to work out what is going on for themselves.

I would hope I have given you some insight into the transfer world and maybe even how newspapers work.

For those who want to be reporters I hope you succceed and enjoy it.

But I won't have my integrity questioned by a couple of maggots.

In the meantime I will no doubt upset and anger with future stories about Rovers. It happens.

After following your posts, in the background, for some time now, I must explain how refresing it has been. It has provided an imancipated insight into a world that most only opinionate about. I read the negative comments as well as the constructive, yet I fail to see why you feel the requirement to advocate because of the uneducated veiws of a minority after reading the previous posts. I find the insight that you provide, eye opening and interesting and I don`t think that you should have to defend what you report or post, but merely dismiss what you find irrelevant.

I am a proud Rovers supporter, always will be, very keen to know the inside info, and disappointed with some of the responses you have endured from certain fronts. People should not get confused with what you do for a living, and respect what you do with a certain degree of intelligence and knowledge to distinguish between rumour, fact and fiction - Reporters have to report the good, the bad and the ugly, as well as the candy that we all want to hear and digest !

A disappointing end to the best topic on the site for a long time.

Nicko effectively revamped the normally tedious repetetive thread regarding transfers.

Nickos thread was the first one I logged onto each day quite simply because there was some substance to the info.

The better connected site members could give educated commentery rather than the normal guesswork.

A shame that a few had to spoil it for the rest. Really did it matter whether Nicko had shares in a particular company?

I think not. We have senior posters who have their own political agendas as well as football bias, should they be hounded out to the point of libel?

An enjoyable post ruined by a couple of plonkers. I don't care if Nicko was Dan Williams brother, all the info would come to light eventually.

But now the truth regarding take overs and transfers may just be that much harder to find out.
