Nicko i was just wondering if you had heard any truth to this statement supposedly issued by Hughes about Bentley not being for sale and if he wanted out Hughes would let him "rot in the reserves" rather than let him leave to the likes of Liverpool.

I just cannot see any truth to this. Hughes is surely smarter than that?

More naivety. If he got the chance (and it's a very big if) he'd jump at it. One of he biggest clubs in the world (who are strangely short of strikers) and he wouldn't even need to move house.

I take your point.

Ok, yes anyone would jump at the chance to go to United. But, I don't think RSC would kick up a fuss if we rejected a bid from United in the same way say Benni would. All hypothetical I know.

RSC has played for a big club and knows the troubles you have if you're out of the team. I think what I probably meant to say would be that RSC wouldn't be desperate (or as desperate as some) to leave should United come knocking.

Let's hope we don't get to that stage.

I think the message to Bentley is - you are under contract, you won't be going. I think the 'rot in the ressies' is spin put in by some papers.

There is no doubt that some nerves are frayed about Bentley not signing his new deal and all of the stories linking him with other clubs. So the manager may be a little peeved about that.

However, as he has said before - and about himself - it is also a compliment to be linked with 'bigger' moves.

Watched Hull Vs Crystal Palace yesterday.

Tom Soares did ok, but was nothing special IMO. He looked sharp (but so did most of the Palace team)... made some decent passes, but not a lot else.

Moses who everyone has been raving about looked waaay too fat to play football! they kept playing balls for him to chance onto, and he only got to a couple.

Scott Sinclair lwas lively, made some dashing runs... seemed like he'd been watching one too many Cristiano Ronaldo vids though... tried taking everyone on, then when he'd lost the ball, fell to the floor...

One for Rovers to look at I'd say though, would be... I think it's Watson? the ginger kid. solid in the tackle and good at spreading play.

Nicko, a story the papers don't seem to have picked up on;

You know the history between Neil Warnock & Dean Windass? they've always hated eachother and Windass has never forgive Warnock for leaving him out of Sheff Utd's play-off final game...

Well in the first 10-20 mins mins, Windass was the best player on the pitch and smirked at Warnock. Deano hit the bar and had a goal disallowed for offside...

someone overheard Warnock tell one of the players to tell Derry to "take Windass out"... he did just that.

Went straight into the back of him, well after he'd played the ball... VERY LATE and from behind! the ref waved play on! (the ref was sh*te!) Palace ran up the other end and nearly scored... Deano by this point had taken his boot, sock and shin pad off.... hobbled up to the ref and had a go at him for not giving a foul and showed him the blood streaming down his leg.... Windass then had to hobble off and stay off. he had to have internal as well as outer stiches in his leg...

By the end of the game, the news of what Warnock had said to his player had got to Windass, Windass came out on crutches at the final whistle and him and Warnock had a massive arguemnt at the side of the pitch.

ref's today are becoming more and more useless... they demand more respect, but the standard of reffing I've seen this year has been appauling! it seems to get worse every year! I think the FA need to step up standards.

Best ref I've seen this season is the young kid who reffed Hull vs Barnsley at barnsley on Sky. They said he's "one for the future" (as far as reffing goes) ...I only hope there are more like him "coming through the ranks"!

Windass has never forgiven Warnock for leaing him out of Sheff U's play-off final side.

Warnock telling players to hurt opponents? Surely not? Heard that one before again and again sadly.

I don't like the man for that reason - and others.

As mentioned elswehere wrongly - my fault! - I don't believe that story is true. With due respect to Roque you need to be quicker than he is to play in that team and with their style.

Disagree there, he's as fast as Tevez. The issue would be whether his feet are quick enough, which I wouldn't think they were.

The part that gauls me is that Santa is seen as a "cheap fix" because they don't want to shell out £30+ for Berbatov  If Roque can get more goals than him (bearing in mind they are both around the same age), then why should he cost a third of his fee?

How the hell the ref gave NOTHING is beyond me... as you can see from the first pic(previus page), he had a good enough view!

Then it took the ref about 5 mins to realise Windass was still down, as he was too busy running to the other end cheering on a Crystal Palace attack.

Warnock is a moron! ...everything he says has an underlying comment that proves what he's saying means he's lying.

And just adding to my rant about how poor refs are becoming....

the ref yesterday didn't even give handball for this!

25jxjqf.jpg

useless!

To add to that... here's another decision.

Crystal Palace throw in, to the left of Hull City box... thrown in to the area... Nick Barmby just and heads it clear to Dean Marney, who only has two plays infront of him and the Palace goal... ref blows his whistle and pulls the play back because of a foul throw! ...where is the advantage in that?

I do wonder where they get some of these refs.

The guy is asking Nicko for his opinion. Seems like fairly valid discussion.

not when this is a blackburn rovers message board .....

The 'Chinese' money is possibly part of the Chris Ronnie team. Heard the rumour myself, checked it and was told it is a possible source of cash but that is not guaranteed.

The bottom line is and will always remain how much money this team have got together.

Roque to United is laughable. Very good Premiership player but nowhere near good enough to improve arguably the best team in the world.

Remember when Reid was linked with United? It's about as likely as that was, i.e not at all. The papers always make up these links when players are playing at their peak.

If they wanted someone abit better in the air, or at holding the ball up for tevez and co then yes he is good enough.

They only really have 2 strikers in tevez and rooney. Saha is a crock so they need some extra cover. Seems a sensible move to me. I know fans of Liverpool, Bolton & United and he is held in high regards by all. Not that often that you find that from a Rovers player.
