Nicko i clearly stated in my post that i wasnt accusing phillipl of lying,i just want to know the truth.I apolagise if my post seemed like i was sniping but i genuianly wasnt.I love this club and i dont want to see it torn apart.Once again i am sorry phillipl ther was no offence meant by my post.

I wasn't having a go at you, but the Thought Police have been out for a few weeks and giving people like phillipl some hammer for being brave enough to say what they have heard.

It takes a great deal of courage for a poster to come out and tell it like he hears it.

Before you forget - the mole within your club who was leaking to the Daily Mail in the summer was telling the truth, the only reason I ignored his info was because I felt it was too early.

Every detail I had in the Sunday People a week ago was from people who knew what was going on and every single one who told me had the interest of Rovers at heart.

This sniping at a guy who clearly knows a great deal about what happens is wrong.

There are several people on and around here who were aware of certain things that were going on but could not go public as there was a lot of walking on eggshells during the reign of your previous manager.

Some had the guts to tell it straight.

To be fair nicko, I've never been anti-philip but the man did say he was as certain as can be that Allardyce wouldn't be joining our club. That won't do a great deal for his credibility.

philipl do you still mantain that ince lost the dressing room?Only after watching nelsons interview and reading david dunns comments i find your beliefs quite hard to believe. Why would dunn come and say they were behind ince,if they were not surely it would have been better not to say anything at all.I am not accusing you of lying,i just want to know the truth?

It's paper talk and nowt else. Otherwise why did Freidel apparently come out and say there were absolutely no issues between him and Ince when every press hack now continually refers back to their 'animosity' dating from their Lpool days? TugayforEngland and I got dogs abuse on here for saying as much from posters who had read Brads 'denial' in the press, yet we were correct all along again.

If you take what you read in the papers as gospel you will be lead up the garden path on a regular basis.

Ay... There's the rub. <_<

Don't do yourself down Alan, I won't hold your early dereliction of duty against you. I'm sure that you thought it was for the best, even though we might all live to regret it.

In the words of a famous football chairman of a top club...'I wouldn't hang a dog on the word of a footballer.'

There were teething problems, but the trouble is it developped into a place where a full-scale extraction was needed.

No regrets about ignoring the first raft of rumours. But when it affects form and results then it has to come out.

Action should have been taken in the Summer. Ince should have been out before the season started...

and therein lies a tale

as does the reason for my comment about BFS' chances of getting the job and that will remain silent until it becomes the equivalent of a safe reminiscence over a pint many moons later (hoping fervently as I type that).

There are three current journos and one retired journo on this board and Rovers are hot hot at the moment.

Plus there are negotiations with our former manager and who knows how many other soon-to-be formers.

I am a Rovers supporter and I don't want to do anything that harms the club I love.

There is a time and a place but I suspect you will read what I know in the press and it won't need me to put it on here and become the butt of everyone.

This morning's articles in the Mail and the Times (I think it was) were bad enough.

Ah, but he doesn't. He either comes out with definite statements, such as Allardyce will not be our manager, which turn out the next day to be completely incorrect so then he will try and edit the original post 1984-style, or posts something along the lines of "I know something you don't know, something so terrible it will destroy civilisation" which then never comes out at all.

The Barry Ferguson saga was perhaps his finest hour for combining the two traits.

Why some people need to constantly hint they are 'in the know' I have never understood. I suspect the middle child syndrome...

I trust by that you mean the butt of everyone's humour Philip? Otherwise you'd simply be one big arsehole.

I thought the article in today's Independent by somebody called.....Herbert was excellent.

From nicko's favourite website, football365:

Paul Ince: Time Is On My Side

EmailPrintSave

The first day of my new life. I can't believe Robbie Fowler turned out not to be the missing piece of the jigsaw. I remember him being well good.

Not much to do this morning so I listen to one of the hottest new CDs around. Definitely Maybe is one of my albums of the year, and I'm in no doubt where I stand in the great Blur v Oasis debate.

Get a bit bored after a while so I fire up the Super Nintendo. Technology is AMAZING these days. Even better than Double Dragon in the arcade. I'm great at Sensible Soccer as well.

The wife tells me I better start looking for a new job and I'm just about to send out a few letters when she says that you can do that on the computer now. It takes me a while to type out- I started "downloading" a song off Napster last week and it's making the computer run a bit slow. This Pentium 133 was supposed to be state of the art as well.

The problem with the Premiership these days is that it's about instant results. When I played, it was about beauty and truth and giving yourself morale-boosting nicknames. People were more patient in them days: it took me years to invent 'The Guvnor'. That was the best nickname of Euro '96 where I was really good, as was Robbie - especially in the dentist's chair.

Nowadays, a lad's hardly got into the first team and he's having to come up with something imposing right away. Take my boy Keith Andrews. I got him in from MK Dons and it was a natural progression to put him straight into the Premiership. I suggested he try 'The Dominator" or "Mighty Shooter" as a nickname, but the lads would only address him as "That bloke from Division Four" or "Paul's little friend".

There was a lot said on Ceefax page 312 about how I lost the dressing room at Blackburn but that's not how it was. I knew exactly where that dressing room was. I've had lots of messages of support from the lads, mostly anonymous, with some typical teasing. "Thank f*** he's gone" is just once such example. We had a great spirit there.

So yeah. Have a bit of lunch and watch Neighbours. Funny that Kylie's not in it no more. Now it's just a case of sitting and waiting for the phone to ring, or maybe I'll get a telegram - or "text message", as they say nowadays.

Alan Tyers and John Nicholson

Not one of his best pieces by a long stretch but John Nicholson is as good a football writer as anyone at the moment.

The more philip posts, the more blatantly obvious it becomes that he doesn't have any inside information about anything Rovers related whatsoever.

No matter how much he might protest to the contrary.

Sadly I agree.

Sometimes if you make up enough stuff there's a chance some of it will actually eventuate.

Unless he's prepared to elaborate on what's he dreamt about, then he is not doing himself any great favours constantly posting as if he has some valuable information.
