Gotta be someone young enough to grow into the role before he gets too old and knackered to do any stunts 😀

It will be interesting to see if they start again with  new castings of Q M and Moneypenny etc or just have Bond be the only change.

Who do we want as the next James Bond?

For me it has to be Tom Hardy.

nobody.

they should put the modern bonds on the back burner for about 10 years cos they've become so irrelevant, forgettable and just clichéd af, to busy trying to squeeze in lame references to past bond films. They're not even great action films anymore either, the Mission impossible films are far superior in that aspect.

In the mean time they should go back and Make straight adaptions of the original novels as period pieces with quality filmakers at the helms. (Tarantino has been saying for years hed love to do a straight a few adaption of casino royal for example!)

Well, just seen no time to die, and I was really struggling to pay attention for the last half an hour. I really wanted to like it, and did in parts. But my god it's really hosted. At times it didn't even feel like a bond movie.

I can't imagine we'll see James bond in another movie. The Craig era was a reboot, so they can't go back in time again and reimagine it. Clearly Bond isn't going to be good for much after the events of this film so I think the only thing they could do is a James bond movie featuring other double 0 agents. That wouldn't be of interest to me.

So I think it may well have run its course. If it had you have to say its been an incredible run. Twenty five movies. They all have their flaws, but barring a handful, they're all watchable and fun. From Russia with love is easily the best, Robert Shaw is So good in that one. With Craig, I think casino royale was easily his best. The stuff with Blofeld as his step brother, that was a bit Austin powers. I think they've slowly run out of ideas. And Craig in this one, he still moves well, but he's losing his hair and he's looks older. It was definitely time to go, I just wish it was on a higher note.

I'll be sad if it is still over, I'm a bond nut. So we'll see what happens.

Watched Uncharted at the cinema tonight, 12a, not a bad romp. Decent family film I'd say 7/10

Good set of video games that it’s been adapted from indeed!

Just whether I can hack two hours of Mark Wahlberg. Lad’s in everything…..

Kinda surprised that Will Smith's slap hasn't made it into a debate on here. What say you fellows?

Personally, I don't believe anything should be above comedy because taste is subjective. BUT...

It seems to me that Chris Rock has made digs at Jada before and been asked to stop, so doing it again in a very public arena could probably be classed as bullying behaviour.

With all that being said, WTF was Will Smith thinking? Not only is violence not the answer, but to do so after laughing at the joke himself looked hypocritical at best.

He's also failed (imo) in being a supportive husband. It's not the 50s anymore where you 'gotta defend my woman' from hurty words. Jada is more than capable of responding to Rock herself and rising above the tasteless joke to raise awareness of alopecia.

Instead, any time Jada talks about her condition, it'll be asterisked with 'Will Smith smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars'.

Just a bizarre incident all around

The Joke was lame (by Rocks usual hig standards) and imo not particularly mean spirited at all, just a bit childish if anything, even using G.I. Jane as a movie reference was pretty weak considering it was a terrible flop of a film that I doubt many under 35 would have even know of.

Wills reaction was ridiculous! how arrogant and out of touch must he  be to think that he could just attack and full on smack somebody in the face in front of millions of people and just get away with it! (Oh! wait!! so far he has absolutely got away from it in the eyes of the law! how it will effect his reputation and career is  still to been seen...) The slap was just completely unnecessary and was a completely disproportionate reaction to the comments rock made, Will  smith should have just stayed seated and shouted at him as he did after the slap!!  that would have been more than enough to shut Rock up and defend his wife

but for me the real villain of the piece is Jada smith, her complete over reaction(along with whatever she must have said to Will between the comment being made and will getting up) put Will in a position where he felt he had to do something to not only defend his wife but also to save face after he was caught laughing at the joke initially.

But as I say it was just a bizarre incident and should never have happened, Chris Rock and Will Smith always both seem genuinely nice harmless men that wouldn't seek to deliberately hurt anybody, But tbh i've never liked Jada smith, she always seems a pretty horrible manipulative character

The profile and column inches of the ceremony had tanked in recent years, so the Academy will be rubbing their hands with glee and making him life president…

yep, wouldn't be surprised if they got Gervais to host it next year to really stir things up, all those horrid self congratulating mega rich celebs that go to that particular event really need bringing down to earth.

Agree. I saw the day before the incident that the viewing figures had plummeted world wide to the lowest ever, so when this happened I knew straight it was a set up. Also it put the movie/arts journalists  back in the spotlight and give them their 15 minutes of fame.
