  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Rovers insider is a clown. He claimed to be sacked then still posted crap.

My favourite was that we were doing a medical over the phone on deadline night.

I could see Venkys trying hard for a name like Ancelotti and would bin Kean in a flash but nobody of that calibre would come here I'd imagine

Ancelotti would be great but unlikely to come unless there is major money for transfers in January and in the summer.

Samba on a step ladder? That would be big. Assuming you are right about that particular phrase beerwins, does roversinsider say that the boardroom big hitters do not see a problem with Kean, or do they actually want a new manager to replace him? Perhaps one of you twitter users could ask him/her.

I don't think they would get rid of Steve without a replacement lined up... They would only leave themselves open for criticism.

Having said that... Can't see Ancelotti coming !

I can foresee two scenarios which would result in Ancelotti coming. First, it is a deal for the balance of the season only, on more than decent money and with a big year end payout if we stay up.

Second, Venkys have convinced him they want to build toward Europe and have actually pledged a significant amount of money for transfers. The committee process may be a bit more palatable to Ancelotti coming from Italy and having dealt with Abramovich.

Or just make it up yourself and save time!

Before we start speculating on who will be the next manager can we wait until the present one has gone. RoversInsider always sounds like he has a little bit of information but not enough to make me believe everything he tweets. He spins a small bit of info into a big story. The fact is kean is still our manager and we are likely to get hammered off spurs. My question is how many games will Venky go before taking the necessary action. At some point they are going to realise that Kean is going to cost them a lot of money. the director of football rumour has been around for a while, so I guess there might be some truth in this one.

I hate it to mum, been too much instability on the manager front at Ewood.I suppose that has/always will be a problem for a club like ours...too successful and bigger clubs come a knocking, too shyte and we end up like we are now!

Well lets stay as we are then!

Newcastle provide a good example of what a good manager can do. I never really rated Pardew but he has Newcastle playing absolutely to the best of their potential.

Player for player, I can't think of too many that are better than ours but he makes the right selections, they are well organised and fit, hehas players playing to their strengths, keeps much the same team every week ie he knows what his best side is, and without the flash stuff, has them playing good, honest football eg they get the ball into the danger areas as often as poss and there are players ready to receive it and who know where the goals are. This is despite losing good players from last season and not spending much money since.

An average Premier League manager is putting Kean to shame.

Anyone have any doubts that we suffered a horrible horrible defeat on the opening day of the season after watching Wolves on Match of the Day just now?

I said it at the time. Wolves were so casual about that game, it was an awful loss. Like a walk in the park for them.

Our only good performances this season were against Arsenal and Everton.

A director of football is not the answer. Kean must be removed entirely from the scene. He is a cancer that will corrupt from within unless completely removed.

"Unity can lift us off bottom"

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/9309186.Kean__Unity_can_lift_us_off_bottom/

Yet more bullsh1t from the deluded one.

Only Kean's exit from our club will do the trick.

Maybe unity would lift us off the bottom for a game or 2, but if we beat Tottenham you can guarantee we'd lose most of the next 3/4 and be back where we started. The fans are tired of supporting something doomed to failure. Its like dragging a big rock up a hill, we can make a good fist of it but we'll never build up any momentum and the simplest thing to do is get rid of the rock. Get rid of Kean and the new manager will I'm sure be welcomed with a string of cracking atmospheres.

Roversinsider has just tweeted that it's Walter Smith. I give up

What, one of the most successful British managers of the last 25 years?

Walter Smith would be AMAZING. He would keep us up no bother. Yes, his football is more Big Sam than it is Pep Guardiola, but he is in a different galaxy to Steve Kean.

Maybe it is because I don't want it to happen but I just sense a DOF is what we will end up with - something very fishy why Kean has to be kept on at the club it appears.

Walter Smith General Manager with Kean, Clement underneath possibly...

Well I started a thread about a DOF. I probably used the wrong words, or title. What we do need is someone to come in at a level above Kean. Someone who knows football inside out and who can work between the Roas and the football side of the club, giving the Raos the advice they obviously need and giving them the absolute truth. I would imagine that person's first advice would be to bring in an experienced manager. It doesn't matter what we call that person, DOF, CEO or whatever, but we desperatley need someone in the club who can point the owners in the right direction, someone who knows how a PL football club should be run - even if on a short term basis.

Why do we have to keep Kean though?? Under his management the team have picked up a bad habit, NOT winning matches.

Surely a clean break would be best.

Any new manager could rely on Brunskill and Mimms for info on current playing staff.

Rovers need a complete fresh start, Even if a director of football was to be appointed that would not be good enough.

Kean needs removing from the club and a new Manager with his own team needs appointing. Having a director of football has not worked at one UK club yet and if that is done at Rovers it will only be done because the club have not got the guts to remove Steve Kean from employment at Ewood Park.

Steve Kean will no doubt continue to run the show, and will continue to be far more influential than a Manager,

Keans job should of been to Manage the team, full-stop, However from day one he has had far more power than that, whilst he remains, the problem remains,

I'm sure Venkys and their team of reasearchers are watching these threads very closely, my message to them "We was not born Yesterday" and us fans won't rest until our football team is run correctly from top to bottom, Sort your ship out or it will be more than Steve Keans removal from the club the fans will be calling for come Sunday

Perhaps asking him if he will accept less than £10 Million to go?

I don't want to keep Kean, but this cosy relationship between manager and owners is killing us. We need Kean out ASAP - like today, but we need to make sure this isn't repeated in future.
