  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

I don't like Kean and I don't like his face, voice, s*** eating grin, mannerisms, general demanour, bulls***, his record, his lies, his agent. I don't like the cut of his jib, I don't like the way he got the job and I don't like the complete horlicks he's made of it so far.

HOWEVER, he does seem to have the support of the players and for some unfathomable reason (unfathomable if we take all this on face value) Mrs Desai.

So, he limps on for another month with no sacking, what is our 'end game'? Do we protest all season long? Or do we try and unite? Because lets pull no punches here, if we do go down, it will be absolute carnage for this football club.

Footballers will support whoever is writing the cheques until their next big signing on fee comes along.

In answer to your question I haven't got a clue. It would seem our choice is carry on protesting to an empty ground or watch the impending doom rapidly develop before us.

All credit to James from Chorley who rang the sports breakfast on talk sh*te around 15 minutes ago to express his bemusement at Kean still being in charge.

He said Keans tactics last night, brining Hanley on when 2-0, up almost lost us the game and was correct in pointing out, if that had been a league game we’d have lost another 2 points.

He also pointed out Keans record whilst at the club, and spoke very well without making a fool of himself.

Brazil and Quinn didn’t really listen to him and ignored Keans record whilst manager of our club, why do journalists keep ignoring the facts? His record is abysmal??

Credit to you James, you got all your points across very well indeed :tu:

Good win, let’s hope we can start to pick up points quickly in the league now – as per our other wins under Kean, one swallow etc etc

Due to the nature of the victory, you would hope the players could get on a roll now however it didn’t quite happen following the Arsenal game.

Anyone feeling jubilant this morning,or slightly more depressed ?

Neither, to be honest.

I can't honestly say that I feel anything at any result at the moment, such is my disappointment at 1) Kean still being in charge and 2) the way that the club is being run.

Was just coming on to say the same thing. Heard that myself, excellent points raised and pretty much exactly how I feel about Kean.

Same here, I don't feel unhappy that we lost... I just don't really care. Scarily, it was like looking at the result of any other team last night :(

Interesting fact - Rovers have had 8 home games this season. 5 in the league, 3 in the cup. I've got a season ticket, but I've not been able to get to any of the cup games. I also missed the Arsenal game as I was on holiday. I'm starting to think Kean isn't the problem here....

Games that I've missed:

P4 W4 D0 L0 GOALS FOR: 14 GOALS AGAINST: 9

Games that I've attended:

P4 W0 D0 L4 GOALS FOR: 2 GOALS AGAINST: 9

I'm thinking of starting a 'Leftwinger Out' protest.

Jubilant ? Yes of course I am. We won.

Does it change my opinion of Kean ? No.

One thing is for sure, the players are going to fight for Kean. I had given up numerous times last night but the players didn't.

I believe we have a good bunch of players that have heart and I am proud that they never gave up and they fought for the victory right till the end.

I listened to that, great caller, mirrored my thoughts exactly. Shame it was wasted on Alan Brazil who sounded uninterested and as for Micky Quinn...

Me too, i've been to the same games as you this year.

I also went to all last year's home games apart from:

Liverpool (won)

West Brom (won)

Man Utd (drew)

Chelsea in the cup (won)

I've seen us win about 3 times home and away in the last 12 months.

People keep going on about "the players being behind him" but is that enough for Rovers to stay up this season? I don't think it is.

No clean sheets since April and Rovers are conceding on average 2 goals per game. So that means that Rovers will have to score 3 goals every game to get wins. Will Chelsea, United, City, Liverpool or Spurs score 3 goals every week this season? Of course they won't. It's a tough ask.

So it doesn't matter what the players really think of the manager, when your manager is ###### and tactically inept there is not much you can do about it.

He has to go if Rovers want to survive.

Without Question then, OJRovers and leftwinger out!

I've just read a lot of the 'back biting' on the Newcastle thread. Glenns warning about this is spot on.

I think that we Rovers fans are becoming very divided and I'd like to point out that Steve Kean is not Blackburn Rovers. I think there is a danger that the vitriol is dividing the fans which are fundamentally what the club is about.

Against Newcastle the players seemed to be together. I think we should get behind them, they are effectively the main people who can keep the club going through difficult times. If/when Kean gets the bullet the players need to be playing for a cause, something that they give a damn about. If they become like Brian Kidds rubber dingey men then there may not be a Blackburn Rovers team for a new manager to manage.

Many clubs have had owners and managers that they can't stand. look at Ken Bates, Peter Ridsdale, Geoffrey Richmond, Peter Swales the list is endless. The fans of these clubs stuck together and supported THEIR club through the players.

Bill Fox, Jack Walker, John Williams have all come and gone. They are part of Rovers history, that cannot be changed. Blackburn Rovers and its great history will go on long after Steve Kean. Lets make sure that we separate Rovers from individuals. People hoping that Rovers lose are not undermining Kean they are undermining our club. He will be happy and well off wherever he ends up.

Looking at the Home fixtures this season I don't think that there was any possibility of any manager being fired for not getting results against the like of Spurs or City, It was a miracle that we beat Arsenal. The only home banker should have been Wolves. Again the next home match against Chelsea should really be an away win.

It is after this game that we start to play our relegation rivals. This is where we should be backing the players who represent our club 100%. Protest if you want but for the 90 minutes the fans and players should be together. IF Kean turns the club around we will be stuck with him but safe, if not he is gone.

Yes he did. The interview is on Talks website.

Andy Cryer should know better than to say silly things like that.

If you can't rely on the local journalist to paint a true picture, who can you rely on?

He reads this site doesn’t he? I'd like to know in what context he made the comments.

Hey Steve, I've got an idea. Play Rochina and Yakubu on Saturday.

Simple really ain't it - they both score goals and can both retain the ball.

I'd go with last nights team but replace Goodwillie with Vukcevic & Petrovic with NZonzi n move Hoilett upfront with Rochina on the left!
