  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

But the players have had full support, have they not?

Always have had Matty.

Happy squad? Players playing for their manager?

I've seen plenty of clubs go into oblivion under the same scenario. None of that matters in the least. We're bottom of the league and have been very very poor since Kean came into his current position.

29 games left, 35 points needed. Will rovers achieve that under Kean? That's the only thing that needs considering.

Generally Matty they have. People wanting Rovers to lose and the unrest on the Newcastle thread was the cause of the post.

The weeks after the Chelsea game are crucial. We need as many fans as possible behind the team against the likes of Swansea. We need fans now not boycotts.

If, we are miserably relegated with a meagre points tally. We the fans need to be able to say we did the best we could. Not, well I didn't bother going or I'm glad they lost. Thats not what Rovers are about. Surely.

We could end up in the Championship and Kean will be sitting on a nice payoff. Kean is temporary like all managers.

I've just read a lot of the 'back biting' on the Newcastle thread. Glenns warning about this is spot on.

I think that we Rovers fans are becoming very divided and I'd like to point out that Steve Kean is not Blackburn Rovers. I think there is a danger that the vitriol is dividing the fans which are fundamentally what the club is about.

Against Newcastle the players seemed to be together. I think we should get behind them, they are effectively the main people who can keep the club going through difficult times. If/when Kean gets the bullet the players need to be playing for a cause, something that they give a damn about. If they become like Brian Kidds rubber dingey men then there may not be a Blackburn Rovers team for a new manager to manage.

Many clubs have had owners and managers that they can't stand. look at Ken Bates, Peter Ridsdale, Geoffrey Richmond, Peter Swales the list is endless. The fans of these clubs stuck together and supported THEIR club through the players.

Bill Fox, Jack Walker, John Williams have all come and gone. They are part of Rovers history, that cannot be changed. Blackburn Rovers and its great history will go on long after Steve Kean. Lets make sure that we separate Rovers from individuals. People hoping that Rovers lose are not undermining Kean they are undermining our club. He will be happy and well off wherever he ends up.

Looking at the Home fixtures this season I don't think that there was any possibility of any manager being fired for not getting results against the like of Spurs or City, It was a miracle that we beat Arsenal. The only home banker should have been Wolves. Again the next home match against Chelsea should really be an away win.

It is after this game that we start to play our relegation rivals. This is where we should be backing the players who represent our club 100%. Protest if you want but for the 90 minutes the fans and players should be together. IF Kean turns the club around we will be stuck with him but safe, if not he is gone.

You've missed out Everton------a very poor team, especially on that day. 2 wins went begging. We'd have been level with Villa in mid-table and reasonably happy.

This is the key Den. I've always been a bit of a stat anorak. Soon we could need to get an average of 3 points every 2 games to stay up.

This is would require the team to perform to a level that would see any team finish in the top 8 or so, If continued over a full season.

I think the players can start winning. I think there is some ability in the squad.

If we lose against Wigan, Bolton, Swansea, then Kean will be out of excuses and we could be out of time.

It's only when you do the maths Dave, that you see how very difficult a position we are now in. Take into consideration the games left to play that we would realistically write off as losses, and it's apparent to me at least, that we have stuck with him for far too long.

I would say to the fans that went last night, enjoy it - and I'm glad that you have, but don't get carried away with the chances that Kean is going to keep us in this league. It's almost, if not already beyond us.

I think what Andy said on the interview was that the feel good factor was back at Ewood Park for those few minutes after the game (which it was) and NOT that the feel good factor was back altogether just because we won.

That would be more like it Kamy, I could understand his comments if thats the case.

Thats what he said he meant on twitter

@Rickster_1978 Hang on there. The feel good factor WAS back for those few minutes. Cant argue against that

CryerRovers Andrew Cryer

How can any fan argue there was not a feel good factor around Ewood at the final whistle last night? I'm not saying it will stay.....

Simple really ain't it - they both score goals and can both retain the ball.

I'd go with last nights team but replace Goodwillie with Vukcevic & Petrovic with NZonzi n move Hoilett upfront with Rochina on the left!

Spot on my friend. Our esteemed leader will not have the sense to implement this.

Why is it that nobody outside of the club seems to understand that Kean's record at blackburn is nothing short of abysmal?

Dougie Freedman has just said on the league cup highlights program:

"He's been under a little bit of pressure from the fans, i don't really know why. He's taken a difficult job there and he's doing really well, they've progressed into the quarter finals so he's done well and pretty much deserves a pat on the back as far as i'm concerned."

Oh, really Dougie?

Really?

Yeah, pat on the back indeed.

because people inside the football circle always stick together, they all say 'sod the fans, what do they know'? most football people are thick as two short planks anyway. the fans are an irrelavence to them, couldnt give two shiny shites what these outsiders think, we know whats happening and its our views and opinions that count, not theirs!!

Not sure whether anyone's posted this yet but its one of the best articles I've read so far on Kean.

Outstanding article.

Venkeys should be bowing to Rovers fans in gratitude because of the majorities patients, never mind bowing to our wishes.

It fills me with a bit hope when someone else outside of the Rovers fan base has the intelligence to see and write about what an awful manager Steve Kean is. I just wish that more people in the media would do likewise, see what's happening to our club, instead of just saying the standard lines of 'it's a tough job', 'he needs more time', 'the fans should get behind him' and 'he can turn things around.'

A superb article and good to see somebody looking at it from a neutral point of view

"Now, under the ownership of Venky’s – to whom they were sold amid fears of not being able to sustain their existence in the top flight – they are a directionless, soulless and ignominious club, a cruel irony to suffer for the fans of this once-proud small-town side."

I meant to +1 you. Sorry about that. I've a bug and it's effecting me a bit.

Someone should send that link to the Raos. Or will Mrs. D's internet miners pick up on it without our help?
