  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Venkys should keep Kean on just like Utd did with Fergy says Kean---------20 Premierships for sure!

There'll be no club left mate--certainly very few supporters.

Guardian published a list of Premier league clubs' attendances today. We are 8% down on last year! Only 2 clubs fared worse----Villa and Wolves.

Writings on the wall (or in the sky!)

I honestly think that this is a plea of a desperate man and I think he knows, if he didn't already, that he's a dead man walking.

Even his Sky interview yesterday showed that he wasn't his 'usual convincing self'.

I think the cracks are starting to show - one last push from the MAJORITY of supporters may be the only thing needed.

Unfortunately I can't join the protests today before or after the match because of prior commitments organised months ago. I suspect there will be many others who can't be there after the match but doesn't mean that if the nightmare goes on - and I'm surprised I've not seen a Nightmare at Ewood in the Photoshop thread - I won't be there protesting next time. Hopefully though a next time won't be needed.

If Kean reckons he is the manager he is than he has the next 6 games. im sure Venkys are thinking the same, if we dont get out of the position in the next 6 games im sure he will be gone.

Wigan (A)

Stoke (A)

Swansea (H)

Sunderland (A)

WBA (H)

Bolton (H)

I'm not willing to accept a single defeat at home out of those games. whilst 4 points from away trips to wigan, stoke and sunderland would be a good good return. have to get a minimum of 9 points. massive massive period for our club now.

It would be a hell of a turn around, given his track record in management, if we were to consistently pick up results over a run of fixtures - obviously not impossible.

He'd be a Bona Fide genius if he turned it around.

It won't happen. Give him the next 6 games and we are going down.

Has there ever be a manager so widely loathed in the history of Blackburn Rovers?

He is loathed by some, more so than any manager in our history. But, there are more than I thought possible thinking he is 'doing a decent job'.

Absolute crackers, and I left Ewood fearing for our future more than ever with the 'hear no evil...' outlook at the ground.

Astonishing, Matty. What are they putting in the water up there?

"Certainly we feel as though we can pick up points, but I think the key is the manner in which we play. " - Kean

He's hit the nail on the head. If you play well and lose, that's the goal. In fact it's better than if you play poorly and win.

It's some kind of mass hysteria.

It's almost like when there's trauma to the body, and chemicals are released numbing the pain.

In this case it's affecting the brain. What's happening is horrific but some people can only see positives.

As Philip pointed out and as others did before him, Kean is actually doing much, much worse this season than last in terms of getting points.

I don't think its difficult to spot why-----we've lost both Jones and, under Kean's much vaunted transfer spree ("judge me after the transfer window"), there is no bite in mid-field and we are not set up to keep the opposition out.

New signings like Petrovic (he who"can do everything") and Goodwillie have been exposed for what they are---dull plodders.

Reading between the lines, I think Kean has convinced his masters that we have had a difficult run of fixtures and that there is an easier group of games coming up. Fail to get the pints there and I think the owners will lose patience.

But, of course, it will be too late and it will be difficult to attract the sort of manager who we'd like. No-one wants to be the manager who takes us down, except Kean.

In summary, I genuinely think we are doomed and in for some barren years. How we get out of it, if we get out of it, I may not live to see. It took 25 years last time after all.

The tragedy, which will always live with me, is that it was all so predictable and avoidable. With some of the youngsters we've at last produced coming good, it could have been a new golden age.

Alan Hansen bigging up Kean now

Lawro again saying the protests were unfair.

When they speak about us, it's so patronizing. It's like they're talking about an Under-11 side. We're a professional football club, and one of the founding members of the Football League. Treat us with some respect you complete hacks. You know it would be a different story if it was their beloved Liverpool on the slide.
