  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

So proud to see us competing toe to toe with the big boys again. But for lady luck, we would have begun the ascent.

If people cannot now see the improving, dynamic team of promising (in the main) young stars Steve Kean has moulded, then they possibly need to take up evening classes in 'football -the game explained'.

Onwards and upwards!

Unprofessional and disgusting. If that's not inciting crowd violence and confrontation I don't know what is.

"It's coming. The signs are positive. Fans who are behind me and the club are going to protest against the protestors." - Steve Kean

The FA should know about this. I just can't believe what I'm reading and hearing when he does an interview.

So the intelligence of a counter protest is of something yet to be organised by the club and Steve Kean???

I agree we are improving and playing better, but one of the worst traits a side can have is playing well and losing. You have to score when you are on top and win when you play well, we are currently doing neither.

I think he's well aware that his time at Rovers is limited and he's trying to get under the skin of as many of his detractors as possible before he's either chucked out or send to 'manage the academy' in India.

It's working, mind.

No you said that Allardyce certainly did not have the fans support, as if you were trying to say he was hated like Kean is. Which is completely untrue.

Your words.

My point was that there were no planes, protests or banners in Allardyce's reign so despite your claiming that he certainly didn't have the fans support, he obviously had a heck of a lot more support than Kean.

I think his stock has risen because they now appreciate the job he was doing for the club after seeing almost a year of managerial ineptitude. The phrase "be careful what you wish for" springs to mind.

Again, this a rather pointless discussion we are having here, but why do you insist on seeing things so black and white, there are cleary different degrees of dislike. Im not now, nor have I have ever been, trying to suggest that Allardyce was suffering the same degree of criticism as Kean, that would clearly be ridiculous.

However it would not be true to say that Allardyce receieved the uneqivical backing of all Rovers fans, because he did not, some liked him, some disliked him. If you dont believe me, just go back 1 year on this messageboard.

What is this guy doin......

He is setting fan against fan to save himself.

Is there no depths this man will not plunge to?

Will the board comment on this statement ?

I'm sorry but this really is the lowest I have ever felt about our club, why not just rip my heart out Kean and eat it with father beans and a nice red!!!!!

Just when I think I can't hate him anymore... he proves me wrong. Trying to pit fan against fan - an absolute disgrace. How anybody can support this man is beyond me.

"Towards the end of last season we had seven good results in the last nine. I know that's what we're capable of.]

These are the nine fixtures he's referring to:

Rovers 2-2 Blackpool - Awful result at home

Arsenal 0-0 Rovers - Okay, good result

Rovers 1-1 Birmingham - another terrible result at home

Everton 2-0 Rovers - awful result and an awful performance

Rovers 0-1 City - as expected but not a good result

Rovers 1-0 Bolton - good result, even though by this point Bolton were already on holiday

West Ham 1-1 Rovers - not a good result

Rovers 1-1 Man Utd - better than expected, soured somewhat by Utd winning the title at Ewood

Wolves 2-3 Rovers - good result, though we did our best to throw it away at the end

I see 4 good results out of 9, maximum. There are also some truly terrible results in there that show why we were in the position we were in. Our home record, in particular, was and is still not good enough and this season it will relegate us.

Booth, I agree that these comments probably lack a little bit of tact. Despite the fact that I agree with his comments about trhe young team and attacking style, I think he should have kept these comments to himself. I dont agree with the protesters, but I respect their right to protest and dont think their views should be trivialised and ignored.

That aside, are you seriously trying to suggest that these comments could insight violence. If there is anybody so mindless and idiotic that they would become violent as a result of these comments, then they have serious issues and need to calm themselves down.

What Kean is attempting to do is suggest that anybody who is at all negative toward him is against the club and to be "good fans" you need to support him no matter what. He is the Club, he is pretty much suggesting.

I think it is personal now. Kean deserves a personal vendetta against him. He is trying to play off supporter against supporter. Divide and conquer.

A man like this should not be in charge of Blackburn Rovers Football Club. What a shameful chancer.

That aside, are you seriously trying to suggest that these comments could insight violence. If there is anybody so mindless and idiotic that they would become violent as a result of these comments, then they have serious issues and need to calm themselves down.

The comments by themselves won't incite violence, but they have the potential to help worsen an already volatile situation. Fans have been close to blows during recent games already, as it is.

I'm not sure that anyone in their right mind would listen to Steve Kean if I'm honest. But he doesn't know that, and there are plenty out there who aren't in their right mind.

In the context of the piece he's bragging that the anti-protestors are going to protest the protestors. Now apparently the police and BRFC banned banners and the pre-game protest because they wanted to avoid confrontations of this kind on the grounds it may incite violence.

Then a day after the match Steve Kean has given a shout out that this is going to happen.

Do I really need to point out how wrong it is for the manager to do this?

The day that Steve Kean leaves Rovers cannot come soon enough and I look forward to it.

When it all comes crashing down on him and his cronies, no other club is going to touch them with a bargepole and its nothing less than they deserve.

You can tell he has probably been building up the up-coming games to the owners (saying that's when we will pick up points).

If he managed to pick up a few more results, I could probably accept some of the tripe he comes out with.

Steve Kean, first class pr*ck.

This knob is really doing my head and he's driving me more and more into jacking it all in, do I really need this frigging stress off coco?

Bingo Abbey, I've had enough of them all. Supporting the team doesn't work, calling for his head doesn't work, nothing works.

Venkys with the help of Kean are whoring out the club at each and every chance and when the ###### hits the fan the only loser will be the fans. Enough is enough, they can have their "fun" but they won't be getting a single penny from me from this point on.

I'm 59 years of age and I have never never seen a Manager talk about the fans of 'his' Club in such a way. Kean has no shame and does not merit being at helm of our Club. In the real world he would be sacked for this. However with a Borad who now directly target fans who do not toe the Venky Party line this will not happen.

There has to be an underlying reason why he is unsackable and I hope that one day those of us who are 'Not In The Know''- NITKs - find out the truth behind the shambles that Rovers have become.

I pray for the day when Kean is gone.

His comments prove it is him and Anderson who own and run Blackburn Rovers Football Club and dam the consequences.

He is here for the money and nothing more. The guy will leave ( if anyone gets the balls to sack him) a millionaire !!

He is laughing at us, he knows we the people can't touch him. The fact the bench were pointing at the plane yesterday and smiling and joking again shows what little regard they have for the supporters.

Refreshing honesty from a manager.

Kean, try taking a look, you might learn something and then you would stop taking the fans as fools.

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis:

"Forget the back pass. I've managed this club for over 200 games, and we've not competed today. We were second best in every department. Forget the referee, we weren't good enough today. It's in the bottom three or four games in over eight years at the club.

"The way we've played is just not good enough. The players need a rest. When they come back there's certainly a few things to sort out.

"We've played Monday, then we've flown six or seven hours to Israel and back for Thursday. But that's no excuse. I'm not concerned about the first goal. I'm more concerned about not being part of the game.

"I've managed this club for over eight-and-a-half years as that's as disappointing a performance as any I've managed. We were just very, very poor all over the pitch. It's desperately disappointing, that I'm managing a team that's put in a performance like that. We were completely outfought and outplayed by Bolton, and we deserved nothing."

I thought the plane was a bit misguided and felt it would have been better on a Rovers open day.

However, now I feel the only wrong thing about it was there wasn't a guided missile attached to it primed for that smug illegitimate.

"I live in the area - just five minutes from the training ground. I see our supporters every day and they are fine with me. They know I share their frustration when we don't win".

So do I Kean but aint seen you out and about either day or night. Perhaps a figment of a very vivid imagination or perhaps just another porkie pie.
