Well my self imposed posting ban (any posts relating to the manager) lasted a long time I see, a good 48 hours

Until the news is posted on the official site I am holding out hope that this is a load of rubbish. However the fact that Kean is looking for a new house and there has been talk of him meeting agents this week to discuss transfer targets for January would suggest that it's more likely the story is true than not.

If it's true then it's two fingers up from the owners to the fans. Rovers will now be relegated and the financial impact of that will see the club on its knees, fighting for its life.

There is one ray of hope. As well as a new house/meeting with agents he believes we can be in Europe in 2-3 seasons, and under him that's not going to happen either.

If this is true then it can only be a swipe by the owners at the fans. Kean, who is under a long-term contract already, has done nothing to justify such a decision. His record is there in black and white. So too is our position. How else could this be interpreted?

who to replace kean anyone........just someone honest with self respect

i don't think i'm a **** fan but sod it i despise this guy more than i love the club and would find winning the next match hard to stomach as this creep would dine out on it and put himself on a par with shankley

i find alcaraz at wigan less vile than our manager....will the press please expose what is going on at our club and give venkys the dragging through the mud and charecter assasinating they deserve.

How can anybody be happy with this shower of sh!t being in charge of our once proud club?

They are ripping it apart and laughing at the fans while they do it.

WHY on earth would they give him a new contract right now?

Disgusted.

None of it makes any sense.

If you bought a business, why would you be content to flush it down the pan?

Even if the club's just a marketing tool, how will that work when we're outside the Premier League?

Venky's defy all logic.

What else could possibly make sense? Asset-stripping. It's the only thing that makes any logical sense. Buying it, but putting it all as debt on the club. Using the club as collateral to fund other ventures outside of the club. Getting a huge mortgage and using future earnings as collateral.

Things like that.

As, right now, running it as an actual football club isn't making any sense at all.

I have long believed this to be the case.

Yuppers, there is a tidy profit to be made for the owners, not to mention their friends in low places.

People laughed when I brought this up months ago, but *insert overused Sherlock quote*

The latest development stinks of a crumpled tart propped up to be the madam while the pimp raids the whores money boxes. Yes Kean you are used mangy whore who will be a pariah of football, enjoy the limelight while you can.

Couldn't get a game for Brechin City you useless sod.

Guest Rovers4Good

A message to the Chicken Farmers.

If your manager has lost more than 50% of his games and there are calls for his head then the last thing to do to get all the fans back on board is give the T**T a new contract.

You are a disgrace to the game and the best thing you can do now is sell the club as you clearly know Jack S**T about our game.

After listening to the Guardian Football Podcast on Monday, I too was horrified by the way that the presenters just glossed over the problems at Rovers. I posted a few comments detailing why Rovers fans wanted Steve Kean out the door so much and I'm glad to say that James Richardson picked up on them and mentioned them. There was a bit of a discussion about what's going on at the club and there seemed to be a bit of realisation that things are not all well at Rovers. You can listen here and it comes up at 32.15. It's only a small thing, but at least people will start to listen and understand our concerns.

The bizarre thing is that people constantly call on Venky's to communicate to supporters and criticise them for the lack of communication, but when they do people just treat it as lies.

We get told by "The Football Spy" that Kean has signed a new contract, without a single quote or shred of evidence and everyone is on here in an uproar - "IT MUST BE TRUE!!!"

We get told by our local journo Andy Cryer that Venky's have said a contract has NOT been signed, WITH A DIRECT QUOTE, and everyone is on here treating it as a lie, or at best with skepticism.

Why people would rather believe something that is illogical and unsubstantiated, over something that is logical and backed up by evidence is beyond me.

It's not a dig at anyone, I'm just struggling to understand the general reasoning that has overtaken the members on this board recently, other than being the effects of mass hysteria.

To be fair, they did say he hasn't signed a contract yet.

If they wanted to issue a denial they should have just said he hasn't been offered a revised contract. Problem solved.

But it's Venky's they seem to enjoy keeping the pot bubbling over.

If he has been offered a contract, and it's with improved terms, and Kean is as manipulative as people say, wouldn't he have signed it by now?

If he hasn't signed it yet, then is it more plausible that the terms do have a "dismissal" clause attached to it, which he is considering?

The reason IMO why BRFCS as a forum has this stance is because well-respected and well-researched posters such as Kamy post what they have found out from other means.

Reputationally (to Rovers fans) Venkys' and Kean's stock in terms of trust is very low and Cryer might be seen as a mouthpiece for the club.

What did the LT write today about this contract?

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburn_rovers/news/9357687.No_deal_yet_for_Blackburn_Rovers_boss_Kean/

STEVE Kean has NOT yet signed a new Blackburn Rovers contract according to owners Venky’s, although talks have been held with their manager about potentially improving his deal.

I think you are being very naive. The idea is to let the idea sink slowly into the minds of the fans, get the anger out of the way and then, when it is announced people will be resigned to it.

In other words its a continuation of the choreography and manipulation via the media that we've been putting up with for a year.

The "right time" to announce it will presumably be after a win------if we ever have another one.

No story I've read comes close to denying its going to happen, we are simply told he hasn't signed yet.

Nothing wrong with the MB or the fans---we can smell a rat when there's one around.
