  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

Kean's gesture to the fans (see pic a couple of pages back) show its very much now an 'us and him' situation now. The way he taunted the fans was inexcusable and arrogant.

It all comes back to the owners not being able to see through his rubbish and delusion.

Sources say Venky Rao was 'spooked' before kick-off when he arrived at the ground.

The car in which he was travelling had to stop a short walk from the entrance doors and he was barracked by a small group of Blackburn fans.

I - and a few others -shouted a few things as they entered the ground so maybe it's had an effect.

Just had a interesting conversation with Venky's. According to my contact owners were shocked by fan reaction yesterday. Really shocked, seems that they didn't leave but moved to another area of the ground.

I think the shock came from always being told it was a minority of fans etc. I wasn't at the game yesterday but it sounds as though chants were from a large section of the crowd.

Now that they witnessed first hand how angry flans are, maybe the brothers will ask/convince Mrs D to sack Kean.

I'd prefer it if they asked her to sell the club.

Clueless idiots. "Didn't realise"?? Well maybe if they came to more games and actually watch the crap that Kean puts out they might have an idea themselves how bad things are.

Instead of listening to more lies such as the "BACK STEVE KEAN" flyover banner. It wouldn't surprise me.

Are these guys so stupid that they can't work out the league table? Who is advising them?!? Kean? All is well, minority, Agnew? Ditto. Anderson? Venny? Rover 786? It beggars belief.

Still, not to worry, see you at your next game in February, Venkys. I'd try to get to a few more this season though cause we sure as he'll won't be in the Premier League or solvent this time next year if you continue to employ Steve Kean.

You are right Kamy - almost everyone was chanting Venkys out / Kean out numerous times in the match, and you could hear it was defo not a minority ! I must say, I was completely surprised and a bit disappointed with some of our own fans yesterday; I witnessed three fights in the crowd amongst our own fans as tensions were running high, not really good enough that when we are fighting amongst ourselves - it has put me off going to another away match for a while

Thanks Kamy. If the fools attended more matches or actually spent some time in the area they would understand the sense of frustration (which is turning to anger) we all have felt for some time now. The chants were primarily Kean out but there were a few renditions of Venkys out. Maybe the reports of them being 'spooked' before the game and the anger of the fans will finally wake them up.

BTW I thought I read somewhere last week that Mrs D had passed over the running of the club to one of her brothers. Is so why would they have to ask/convince her to sack the imposter.

I 'm a bit puzzled here. I assumed the Pune 9 would have made this clear to Balaji and to the Rao reps they met. Have I got this wrong?

The Independant says ''Yesterday marked the first anniversary of the Ewood Park takeover by the Venky's and the Indian owners "celebrated" the occasion by coming over to watch – at least for the first half. With the manager's future still in the balance after only three wins in the last 26 matches, Kean's employers were seen leaving for the airport at half-time. "I didn't know they had left," admitted the manager''

Maybe your Venky contact is trying to coverup or maybe the Independant and Kean are wrong.

The problem we have is not all the supporters was singing for his head, and I would say only 40-50% maximum was, During the game, the group I was with was trying to get loads of singing going and many supporters was also not singing songs of support either. So they either never sing songs pro or anti, or they are behind the manager?

Kean goes of the evidence, if only a small section call for his head, then he is quite right in presuming the rest still want him (We know this is not true) But if supporters dnt show their disapproval then to the watching world only a minority want him out.

This has nothing to do with protest etc, but just general singing, not enough supporters use their voices during games to support the team, so its hardly surprising when supporters show their frustration these same supporters also don't join in

Glen, 90% around me were singing Kean out and 75% Venkys out,

It was great to see all those tremblers!!!

It doesn't look like hes taking the applause, it looks like he is antaonising , as the quote to this picture is "Blackburn boss Steve Kean reacted angrily when the away fans continued their calls for him to be sacked at the end of the game."

My link

I think that my disdain for Steve Kean cannot get any worse and Kean finds new subterranean depths to plumb.

This man is a complete and utter disgrace to Blackburn Rovers FC.

Time for them to dump that big girl Paul Agnew as well then. He must have sold them a lot of White lies.

SK will be sacked Monday. Venky's situation has become untenable, they won't put up with the barracking - Wigan was the final straw. Here's to an exciting week! Nelson will be caretaker for the Stoke game!

I so hope that you are correct. Nelsen as a caretaker would do fine.

Edit: Ooops sorry Nelly

One of the problems with the current lack of unity of the fans is that it has become Glen v Kean. The media haven't helped calling him 'fan's leader".

As Tom pointed out with the singing, people don't like told what to do, say, think. Not sure if this kind of stubbornness is a Blackburn thing or just in general.

People need to be able to come to their own conclusions at not be forced. This is why so many fans turned on Ince at the same time.

Because Glen is not part of the institution, it's creating a perceived pro-club and anti-club divide - and we all know that's not the intention.

We really need someone from within the club (or maybe ex-club) to join the debate on the anti-Kean side to finally convince the hand-sitters that all is not well.

Regardless of this, I can't understand a fan attacking another fan, it's so depressing.

Giving Kean a new contract at this stage is suicidal and a further sign that all is not well. Can any contract really be UNBREAKABLE ( to make Kean unsackable) or is the level of compensation written into his contract so stupidly high (£50m?) that they genuinely can't afford to sack him? (Pure speculation on my part before anyone gets upset).

I said after the game that I thought Kean's statements were now aimed at the owners not the fans. I think this confirms it and explains why he goes to India every month and why he persists in constantly referring to a 'minority'. Well the cat is out of the bag now it was clear yesterday there was more than a minority calling for Kean and Venkys to go. If we hadn't got the penalty I think the message would have been louder and longer.

As for the display on the pitch at the end of the game and having now looked at the photo I think it is an act of defiance towards the fans.
