  1. 1. Should Steve Kean be sacked

Recommended Posts

"I spoke with the owners for about 45 minutes yesterday (Sunday)," Kean told Sky Sports News HD.

"We had a real good conversation, mentioning again the health of some of the players because we have got a few that are falling at the moment.

"We will look forward to the transfer window opening and see if we can get a few bodies in that can hit the ground running straight away and make an impact."

Venkys are a disgrace not just to Blackburn but to English football. I suspect they are hoping Blackburn win tomorrow so that they can avoid sacking Steve Kean yet again.

They just don't wanna spend any money on sacking Steve Kean and employing a proper manager. They need to sell up. Proper owners in, proper manager and JW and Finn back and then we are back in business. Can't see Venkys staying beyond this season. Absoutely clueless!

Well there is no excuse now, we all buy the LET today, read it, fold up the front page pop in our pocket and then take into the ground tomorrow and hold up for the world to see. Right before kick off would make a great visual, nothing Rovers can do unless they strip search 20,000 fans which would take hours. The protesters wanted to make a point before the Arsenal match because it was on Sky, now we can all join them by doing this and make 1000 times the impact than that had.

So when it is finally staring them in the face the LET have finally printed what supporters have been saying for months - what took them so long ?

Cryer should have stuck his neck out and written the obvious when there was a chance the club's predicament was salvagable. It's probably far too late now.

Couldn't agree more. What has been so frustrating with The Telegraph is that i believe that Cryer has wanted to do this for some time but hasn't been willing to do so, knowing that he and the paper could well be banned from any future press conferences. There has also been the fact that Rovers obviously spend quite alot on advertising with them, so that could have been an influence as well.

What is vital now though, is that this isn't a one off article. They must continue to call for Keans head and for Venkys to pull their fingers out of their backsides and run the club properly or , as they say, sell up.

The club cannot go forward whilst the venkys are in charge, they have created the mess we are in expecting them to be able to

repair this shambolic situation both on the field and off it is futile it isnt going to happen. To have any chance of avoiding

relegation we need an experienced PL manager immediately, even if we beat bolton on tuesday with kean in charge we will be

relegated. The lack of organisation against WBA was glaringly obvious, they looked a poor side but were better organised than

us and tried harder so they deservedly won. Can we trust the venkys to do the right thing and replace kean with a proper

manager capable of getting us out of this mess and avoiding relegation ? unfortunately I doubt it. The venkys are the real

problem !

I believe what Kean said as well. Some people can't seem to get it through their skulls that Venky's simply DO NOT CARE. Kean is a weasel - but VENKY'S ARE THE PROBLEM.

Forget Kean. A huge anti-Venky's protest is what is needed. Unfortunately it won't happen because the majority of Rovers fans are a passive lot. The truth hurts.

Spot on! Venkys are the real problem here. Should have put Kean out of his misery months ago.

Can someone adapt the Venky's logo to read 'Wanky's', then print off a few thousand for tomorrow night? Might get their attention on live TV .... ;)

I'd much rather be in the championship with proper owners and a proper board. This season has been painful. Yes, Kean is a useless manager. BUT no-one would quit when you're on a huge salary and are very unlikely to get another job after this. Venkys are a disgrace for letting him carry on when everyone, including Steve Kean, knows he is not upto the job.

Various people have asked why would any manager come to Rovers in our current predicament. I believe that now is actually a good time for them to take over at Ewood.

It is quickly becoming a Win-Win situation for a replacement manager if (and its a big if) Kean is removed.

Think about it. If any of Hughes, Souness, Curbishley et al are brought in on a contract until the end of the season they will have one aim, attempt to avoid relegation. The expectation of keeping us up is very low so they would not be blamed if we did go down but either of those three would be back in management and get recent premier league management experience on their CV. However if they do actually manage to keep us up that will be seen as a great achievement and their reputations will be enhanced.

As others have said above, the situation is now reached a stage where it is beyond Steve Kean, it is patently obvious he not good enough to manage Rovers, yet the owners do not sack him, this coupled with what has happened over the last 12 months and you have to say that ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

People say that they are clueless, naive and listening to the wroing people, but I don't buy that any longer, they have had ample opportunities to demostrate that they are learning from the mistakes they made but have shown little evidence that they are.

Their actions over the last 12 months and not sacking Steve Kean has put the future of the club into serious jeapordy. We have all given them chance after chance to sort out the situation that the club finds itself in, but in my opinion rather than sort it out they have made the situation worse.

The Rao brothers are pathetic. How can they let that old lunatic witch make such an important decision?

Reading the comments she made after the sacking of Sam makes me sick.

Also, seeing Steve Kean call himself a "fighter" is embarrassing. It would be more appropriate if he referred to himself as a "rapist" after all he's done.

Venkys position is untenable. Surely they will sell, Kamy?

Have you spoken to Venkys PR today Kamy ? It would be interesting to hear their views on todays headlines in the telegraph.

I'm sorry but it's just not true. Most people have far more dignity than that. Are you saying you would drag an entire football club into oblivion for money?

Steve McClaren left Nottingham Forest without taking a penny earlier this season. It does happen.

I also believe he spoke to the owners yesterday but I highly doubt he would've come out and said that they discussed his position as manager. This is Steve Kean remember, he lies, he lies, and then he lies some more. Some of his actions clearly seem to be aimed at winding the fans up so of course being the most positive man on the planet he isn't going to announce to the World that he is potentially going to get sacked this week. He has spun this story a little bit more, and afterall we've all heard about how Kean does 'a great presser'.

However, if Kean has quit the habbit of a lifetime and is actually telling the truth and there really was no mention of his position as manager during this 45 minute conversation with Venky's then there really is no hope for any of us anymore.

Here here. Getting rid of them is the only thing that will save us. Liverpool fans hounded the cowboys out of their club, but the fact is that the Raos never come to games.

I really think that we should push ahead with the full page advertisement shaming Venky's in a top Indian newspaper. I think Glen quoted the price as being around 3k. Granted, it's a lot of money but I'm positive that we could find 300 angry fans to chip in a tenner each. I remember plenty of times that the Steve Kean Thread has had significantly more than 300 people viewing in anticipation of him getting the axe.

It's time to hit them on home ground.

In the words of our beloved chair-lady.... "Why wait?"

Totally agree Kamy.... there is obviously something happening behind the scenes that is stopping them sacking Kean. Something that probably needs looking into by the FA and the Premier League.

It is painfully obvious that within the last 12 months Rovers have been run in a very bad way. They have removed the total backbone of the club in John and Tom and built a wall of silence between themselves and the fans. Stupid statements coming out of Venkys and Rovers regarding finances and the managerial situation have turned a well respected club in to a joke soap opera that would not get on Channel 5. The Fans visit designed to open up a communication channel between fans and the owners has failed to do just that just looks that one massive PR stunt.

I am one angry supporter today.....

Which is also a sensible business move. If a manager has a reputation for doing the "honorable" thing, then it is more likely that manager will be given a chance by another owner in the future, as opposed to those [such as Kean] who cling to the post to the bitter end.

All efforts must now be to get rid of Venkys. Tomorrow's game is a chance to sing not only 'KEAN OUT', but also 'VENKYS OUT'.... We've had enough, they have destroyed our club and are showing no signs to do anything positve whatsoever! I suspect its going to be a hugely emotional night at Ewood Park tomorrow, for fans, managers and players, and we're all now stuck with the mixed feelings of what the best result would be;

Win, and we get 3 points on the board, and the players get a little confidence boost. But then Kean is safe for the immediate future. I can't believe for one second that Venkys think we'll get anything from ManU and Liverpool and will they really sack him in the January transfer window?? I don't think so....

Lose, and surely he's out. But with these clueless tw@ts, who 'so called' run the club- who knows....!?!?

Venkys, if you have any shread of decency, you do the right thing and sack him TODAY! I know you won't, but then you've passed up on your chance to get us out of this mess as far as I'm concerned. Regardless of tomorrow, we shall be relegated as things stand and all anger and hatred will be aimed at you (if it hasn't already!)...!

Who would actually hire him if he left? The only other Manager's job he got before rovers was the job at Kilmarnock. How lucky were Kilmarnock that he turned them down.

As did Gordon Strachan when he left Boro...
