From day one, (long before I was here and even in some ways before Lee), BRFCS was a site run by fans for fans and as the internet has grown, so has the site. But we're at that point where people are working frantically behind the scenes just for us to maintain our current offerings and we want to offer so much more.

So, we're looking once again to expand the backroom team, in the hope we can do even more cool and interesting things in the future.

We tend to like people to offer to do things they have a passion for (we can't offer any payment, so it makes sense that you enjoy it :) ), but the kind of holes we're looking to fill include.

News Contributors. You don't need to be a full blown reporter like Kamy, with your own sources and a Rolodex of agents contact details (though we can give you one if you want), we just need people with time and the ability to string together a sentence or two (Wen's built a great team of editors, but we don't want to make their life too hard). We have great sources for breaking news (and even if we didn't, there is always NewsNow) it just need people to be able to write up the stories in their own words. What we're looking for requires no special journalism skills and is within the grasp of most forum posters.

Creatives / Graphic Designers / Web Designers. Clare has done a great job on the site for years now, but when she started she was a student with loads of free time, now she has full time job and could really do with an assistant to keep the site looking fresh and new.

Article Writers & Content Editors. We need more like ParsonBlue to actually add some meaty articles to the site, to complement the shorter news articles. Plus we have some great projects from yesteryear (including Den's Rovers Best XI project and FLB's excellent history section) that need a revamp and converting into a format suitable for software the site now runs on.

Advertising Exec. The site currently takes quite a lot of money to run and that money is mostly generated through advertising and affiliate marketing. Sadly it's all sub-optimal as I don't have the time to do it properly, so somebody with affiliate marketing experience and isn't scared of talking to potential advertisers would be a huge help.

Promotions People. Once upon a time, we were the only notable unofficial Rovers site, but the site used to cost more to run than it made, so we didn't advertise it as we didn't need or want the extra traffic. Now we've fixed that, we need somebody experienced in SEO and online promotion to help get the message out there.

Events People. BRFCS was always intended to be a community rather than just a website and as such, we've planned a number of great events. The trouble is the current team simply don't have enough hours in the day to implement them. If you fancy yourself as a party planner or are good at putting on events, let us know

Techies. Myself, Biddy, El'T & Ste all do our bit, but we've still more ideas than we don't possibly have time to implement. Tech used includes, Linux, MySql, PHP, IP.Board, WordPress & MediaWiki, but any help in any area is welcomed.

... and anyone at all that can see any way they think they can improve things by helping. It may be you have an awesome idea we haven't even considered yet.

With your help, we can push the site onto bigger and better things

... and remember, nobody gets paid, it's a community project, everyone gives their time freely and gives as much or as little as they can. Everything is appreciated.

For more info, or to volunteer, PM me or Ste or email [email protected]

Excellent. That's an area I really want to improve on. Kam's done great work on in depth investigation, Wen's done great raising the quality. PBs done some fantastic artcile etc etc etc (and I know I've missed other people out) but one area we really fall down on these days are the simple quick news stories, the kind of thing you read on NewsNow.

Wen's looking after that kind of thing, so I'll put you in contact.

Thanks again.

Hey Glenn, I'm fairly proficient in PHP and SQL and would be interested in helping out, but going to Italy soon and won't be back til next year and then have a number of projects I plan to work on once I do, but if you need any coding help let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I would ask lots to get involved in the roles Glenn Has suggested, Fan sites are whatever you want them to be, and working together you build up good friendships, but also feel a sense of achievement.

As everyone knows (Well most people) My original home was Vital Blackburn and what I like about that site is we all get on, and even if we differ in opinion we usually debate in a constructive manner.

I was recently asked to be part of their admin team, which made me proud after four years on their site, sadly protests have taken up a lot of my time recently so I have not dipped my toes in too much, however I will be raising my game, in the the next few weeks. Especially looking to bring exclusives for that site, because the admin team have all grown to be friends and we discuss allsorts away from the site now.

Vital also represented Blackburn Rovers at the Premier League lucozade fives earlier this year at Stamford bridge where we reached the quarter finals knocking out teams like Newcastle, Wigan and Liverpool. This was a memorable day and the first time I had met the Vital lads in the flesh. I'm proud to call them more than an admin team now, but indeed my friends.

Brfcs has so much scope for growth due to its membership levels, and the creativity and super posts I have read in the forums should indeed be brought to life in the news section. There is a hell of a lot of talent scattered around the place here, and if you put your hands up and take up some of these roles for the site then you could be onto a major winner and have a "Dream Team".

As a Vital Admin Guy, I know over there we will be raising the bar to gain new members as we take the site to another level, The site has grown massively in the last 12 months and has overtaken all the other sites bar this one, in terms of traffic.

Brfcs already has a great team, but with a few more additions, it could compete with Vital on news content which I think is the best on the net for Rovers news.

Brfcs has the most active forums on the net so that is an area Vital wil be trying to improve.

Its great that members on here are members on Vital, and likewise the other way. Both sites especially at admin level have grown to have a good relationship with one another, which is refreshing, at a time when Rovers supporters unity has been tested to new levels.

I have rabbitted on a bit, but my main point is, "Please get involved, its great writing stuff about things you love" If its Rovers related, we will all love it,

Rovers fans together

Glenn

I'm a DJ and regularly put on nights and promote them. I'd happily arrange an Xmas meetup if u like and various other parties & event throughout the year.

I have emailed you.

I am thinking a quarterly event where we all get together and have a drink and entertainment will be provided as well as some fund raising for charities etc.

I also thought that the events do not always need to be in Blackburn as the members come from all over. So I could also arrange coaches with various pickup points to bring everyone together.

But Im thinking for the 1st one, I think (if you want me to) that it should be held in the function room in the Fernhurst at some point in December.

Not sure what I can do Glenn but I'm retired now and although I'm no Shakespeare I can put a few sentences together and have still got some of my accounting skills. Let me know if there is anything you want me to do. I'd like to feel a little more involved.

I've already offered to help Kamy with any video or audio interviews as I've got access to quite a bit of kit.

I also know a very good IPB skinner who knows the software inside and out, but would need a small payment for his time. We're talking nowhere near the amount that skinners usually charge though.

Hi there, I'd definitely like to help out with a bit of news writing. Just graduated from uni and am teaching abroad, so I have quite a bit of spare time. Also I was one of the editorial staff of my uni's paper so I can string a sentence together...
