Inspired by Micky Thomas expressing unprompted sympathy for Steve Kean when asked about relegation candidates on dear old Talksport...

Damn us if we do, damn us if we don't

We've danced to their tune, a little, in the last couple of months, reacting to their taunts and jibes about:

- Protesting against Kean [translated by the media as] Rovers fans not getting behind the team

- Reacting to on-field events during Wigan game [translated as] Fickle Rovers fans, only chanting when we aren't winning

- Chanting for Kean to go, regardless of the score/result [translated as] Not real Rovers fans

- Laying off protests for 2 games as agreed with club ahead of fans meeting with Kean [translated as] *Silence* Pointless, no meeting, no press coverage about this instead promoting Kean's podcast with a 'friendly' fan/journalist months ago

- Spontaneous chanting after going 2-0 down at home to the only team worse than us [translated as] Disgraceful Rovers fans Galvanises every media outlet against us, focussing on opposition managers' messages of support for poor old, rich old Steve Kean (Rovers manager of 5 minutes against hard up Rovers fans of 5 generations)

We appear to have, finally, got the local print media onside, yet those hard-hitting journalists on the BBC prefer to run with further messages of support, this time from the local clergy. How low can you get as a media professional with an agenda?

So the questions of the thread start as:

Should we allow the media to once again influence how we behave, act, react in relation to Steve Kean, bearing in mind that:

1) The media (LT aside) haven't put our plight in favourable terms and have coshed us whatever we have done.

2) Protests so far against Kean haven't even moved the owners to speak, let alone act, so is it pointless anyway?

3) Do we think there is any chance that with the right advisors, and right manager, Venkys may turn this around - even from the Championship next season?

Therefore, do we continue with Kean Out and ignore the media and pundits, and is that still the right way to go? Or do we ignore the media and still change tact and demonstrate for Venkys to sell... to... buyer unknown?

Carry on with Kean Out/Venkys Out/Anderson out. The Anderson Out banners puts some heat on the media as they have to explain to their readership who he is and his involment with Kean.

Anderson SEM/Kentaro Banners cant be spun as a negative on the team., but other teams fans are starting to ask who this guy is.

The Anderson Out banner was great - even many Rovers fans to this date don't even know who he is and why he is being mentioned. The spiv won't like it too.

I like this angle but we keep hearing that he's no longer involved in advising the club? He obviously still has ties if he is Kean's agent and obviously his son is 'part of the squad'.

Is anyone able to confirm? Kamy, maybe?

I think in terms of his hands on Rovers involvement he was binned in the summer - whether that story was just put out there I don't know - remember, he was involved in the takeover deal itself and him/Huber sold this "dream" to Venky's, plus they have a historical relationship with them prior to Rovers therefore would presume they are still in fairly regular contact.

As we have an inept manager and no chairman you could claim the damage has already been done.

I don't know if you heard the 606 on christmas eve when Darren Fletcher had a go at Andy Cryer after the LT finally got off the fence and said what needed saying about Kean, Venkys and all things Rovers. He was suggesting that the ;local press were being biased and should report objectively whilst i sceamed at the computer "What do you think he's been doing for the last year? Why can't you see that everyone here in Blackburn and Rovers fans everywhere have been pushed beyond the bounds of normal behaviour by these cretins who have taken over our club and ruined it in just a year?" (Or less polite words to that effect!!!!!!

Why are the media afraid of looking a bit deeper into Anderson's current (or even previous) involvement in Rovers?

Surely there is/was a conflict of interest in the manager's agent advising the owners? Or, put a different way, the inexperienced client of Venkys advisor being taken on as manager following Sam's departure? (Who then took on the agent/advisor's son)

There has been barely a line about this? No printable story here? Really?? If not, why not?

Another Scot you say? How odd.

Is there a new Facebook group called Rent-a-Jock?

I've 'heard' (I know) that some of those who went to Brockhall were shown Sky News footage of an interview with Kean where some of the more pertinent questions were put to him and a club official (might have been Agnew?) stepped in and said 'Mr Kean will not be answering that question'.

Any first hand accounts of this?

The media don't care because Rovers are an unfashionable, small-town club in the North. If it was the likes of Man Yoo, Liverpool, Spurs etc. you can bet your bottom dollar there'd be a full-scale inquisition by the media and ex-pros alike. Look how much coverage Liverpool got over the Hicks and Gillett affair. It was almost a daily event. Who do we have speaking out for us? Robbie Savage? That's about it, aside from the occasional articles that get swept under the rug.

The protests should have always been against venkys. The media forget what they called venkys ever since they have owned rovers. Sky especially took the pi--.

What rovers fans have called kean. Is no different than what the media have said about venkys. But strangely.ok for media, but not fans.

Anyone see the tosh in the mirror today slating our fans for singing the 'we're winning away' song.

Some bit part journo jumping on the bandwagon. Pillock!!

I read it in another paper as well.

If the media had taken even a slight bit of notice of BRFC before recent times, they would have known that that chant has been sung since the time of Ince.

Getting your Darren Fletchers mixed up Jisty?

Darren Fletcher is an empty headed BBC commentator.

Rather chucklesome

Just portray the facts, lay bare before all the cold harsh facts of what you get when you employ an SEM/Kentaro client in a management role.

The truth ! the facts! how many wins from how many games! what was we promised that they havent delivered on!

Anyone thought of singling out a paper. (The worst pro Kean one) Then issuing a boycott of that paper. Apparently I have heard we have 60K facebook followers. Its not the 30-100 pence cost of the paper but the effect it will have on the Advertisers. Just a thought.

Wrong move leave the papers they can print the story find a pundit instead.

I don't think we are a big enough club/town to make a dent. That's part of the problem.

The media still gives Kean an easy ride. For example, when he says he wants to sign 4 players no-one asks "will that mean your squad is bigger by 4 players or will some/all be replacements for players leaving?"

Do you have to sell to buy? etc. My guess is that Samba and Hoilett will fund any buys and a large amount of the rest of the money will disappear. We'll be weaker after the window as we have been with both of Kean's other transfer messes.

Since targets include Johnson (2M) and Gunter (1M) where's the 20M going? More of the usual crap I'd suggest and this is why we are so anti.

Just look at the accounts published money is disappearing out of the clubs coffers at an unsustainable rate.

Higher costs for a poorer product .
