[Archived] Can't afford to pay players wages?

People were saying "D-Day" regarding Barclays was yesterday, so if Venky's failed to put the money into the bank than Barclays would refuse to extend their credit and as a result the players wages wouldn't be paid. I'm assuming it's that info SSN is going off, I would like to think it isn't true but with Venky's who knows?

No article on their website from what I can see. They usually put stuff they broadcast into an article or video clip. I'd be surprised if any of this was true because I also understood that this had been put to bed. I'm sure it'd be all over the news if it wasn't.

Funny time of the month to be paid as well I'd have thought? I don't think you can rule anything in or out. Expect the unexpected or the expected.

Sky have probably picked up on the Independent report where it was mentioned that should Venky's not deposit £10m in the bank account, then there was a risk of Barclays not extending the club's credit and thus the players not being paid beyond this month. Not that they wouldn't be paid, just a risk.

As i said cannot 100% confirm the article was solely about this subject but they for sure mentioned they couldn't pay the wage bill and that Barclays bank won't give them anymore money unless they give some back :(

Well SSN were at Brockhall yesterday trying to dig the dirt on Samba, it never happened - so they are using this old story to stir it up, SSN is going way down to a kind of daily star of the sports media.

At least we are not as bad off as Darlington ( yet :!: )

AFTER 129 years of history and only eight months since lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley, Darlington came perilously close to its demise yesterday.

A frenetic three hours of twists and turns saw it saved, for now...

  • Noon – Administrator Harvey Madden tells Craig Liddle and players club is to go into liquidation
  • 12.30pm – DFCRG understood to be rushing to Neasham Road with £50,000 to keep club going
  • 1.15pm – Madden meets DFCRG at secret location, while Raj Singh says he remains open to negotiations
  • 2.30pm – Madden accepts deal to keep club running for next three games.

What I can`t understand is why people start threads like this without making sure of the facts first. No wonder there is so much crap being spread about the club.

Do you mean the club are not in the crap?

It's been reported by 2 differing media outlets today, Guardian and Sky. The deadline for the bank was yesterday, i would say it's pretty obvious it's a real threat.

No I mean why spread completely unsubstantiated rumours. This is what "darker forces at work" refers to,lol you know the old saying "If they can`t find a bad story they`ll make one up" mind you theres enough actual crap going around anyway.
