Wasn't he at Derry city last season? The fact he hasn't gotten a loan move to league 1 or 2 this season might suggest he has a bit to go yet. Fair play to him for getting out there anyway and playing first team football

He will be 22 in February. If this is his level at this stage, you can only imagine we will never see him break into the first team here.

I watched them play against Salford in the international break and they were awful. They didn't have a manager then and seemed a club in complete disarray

Another disappointing performance against a decent, but far from outstanding, Tottenham side.  Once again individual mistakes cost us with a number of players struggling to find any sort of form.  Butterworth had his moments in attack and Lyons kept going in midfield but apart from that there was little to shout about.  One or two are finding the step up to League One a real challenge at the moment but hopefully they will find their feet.

It’s certainly going to be a more difficult season. Higher level and a rebuilding job. Those that shine will shine brighter this season. Including the coaches.

I thought Spurs had some really exciting attacking players but they seemed to be playing for themselves and not the team, Paris maghoma being the epitome of this.

Another hugely disappointing night against a very good Sheffield United team.  Only Butterworth and Lyons made any impression on a very wet night at Stocksbridge.  Lewis Travis had a poor game by his standards and Simmonds continues to make little impression up front.  In truth the majority had an off night against a Sheffield team that were quick and well organised - very similar to their first team.

What type of player is Lyons Parson who would you liken him too?Has Candlin been playing?

Vilius Piliukaitis is real. He scored. I didn't realise he's actually signed. Did the club announce it?

We've also got a Moroccan CB who couldn't play against City because he was on U'20 International duty. It's like the 90's again!

Don't think the club announced it, but then again announcements on the u18s and u23s are hard to come by. I understand that the game v Man City which was played on Saturday morning was due to be played in January, the game was suddenly brought forward without any public announcement from Rovers.

This certainly makes me feel old. grew up during the Ian Wright era, watched Shaun-Wright Philips career and now in that u18 match City had his son D'Margio Wright-Phillips playing.

Plenty down there watching in dreadful conditions - it was on the website in the list of fixtures as a change and also on City's website but wasn't announced as a fixture change in the news section of the website.

Davenport, Travis, and Downing among those suiting up for the u23s vs Blackpool in the Lancashire Senior FA Cup (currently 3-0 on two goals from Grayson, one a pen earned by Mols, and Buckley, going by Rovers Twitter)

Something I noticed earlier and Sharpe pointed out (https://twitter.com/richsharpe89/status/1055053890280919040) looking at today's Blackpool roster, the amount of Rovers connections currently at Blackpool is pretty crazy. Blackpool's roster today includes former Rovers Chris Taylor and John O'Sullivan, plus Ben Heneghan, who is now on loan at Blackpool from Sheffield United, who we were linked with before he chose Sheffield United and we had to fall back on Downing (that worked out nicely for us!)

Yet further to those three, Blackpool also has Nathan Delfouneso, Jay Spearing, and Liam Feeney on their current roster.

I suppose it's not all that surprising (nor anything necessarily nefarious going on) given Bowyer was the manager and now it's McPhillips, and there's bound to be players drawn to playing in the Northwest to some extent, northwest-based agents, etc... but thought it was a bit funny to see six recent Rovers connections on one roster! Perhaps just a sign that we liked signing cheap players as much as the Oystons do haha... Blackpool's managing along at mid-table in League One, which is probably where most of those players roughly belong anyway.

the main similarity is Blackpool have no money and only sign freebies - the players named above were freebies and duffers signed when we were at a  real low point.
