The Wigan site is far more streamlined looking. The Rovers one is cluttered as hell. Still,I would take our league position over theirs!

To me it looks like, we're short of cover at CB and LB, but we've pissed all our money on 2 misfiring strikers. So, instead of scouting and trying to find a good CB and a good LB within our budget, we just said, fuck it,bring charlie back. If we have a couple of injuries in defense he can fill in.

Sad to say but Charlie's finished at this level. Been a great player but we need to move forwards, not backwards.

With Evans, Dack and Cunningham all out long term good to have Charlie back at Ewood.

Agree that we can't go forward planning to have him in the XI, but I wouldn't go as far as finished. Wigan's fans look pretty united in saying they looked more solid with him in the side, stats seem to provisionally back it up. Clearly his ability on the ball & set piece specialism is still there. 

Compare that to the likes of Gordon Greer, who was definitely finished when he came for his second spell. Charlie's biggest problem is his contract and his pedigree. If he was willing to be a squaddie and not be one of our top earners, I'd have no problem whatsoever in having him as a part of the squad.

Surely you'd think he recognises that he isn't able to play at a championship level anymore and needs to move on if he wants to play regular football. Feels like he's throwing his toys out of the pram a little bit here. Not like Mowbray is the one controlling the club Twitter account?

Whilst I don't blame Mulgrew for feeling frustrated, this is ultimately just evidence of Mowbray doing his job.

The weird thing is why he came back from Wigan last year when he could have carried on playing at this level.

He's probably in limbo with it all like the club now is but at the heart of it he's thinking of himself so the loyalty line is a bit thin.

Sounds like Mulgrew has throw his toys out of his pram. He isn't good enough to be part of squad now. His nightmare against Boro at Ewood Park ended his career here.

The loyalty was the 2 year extension on a good wage, which he didn't warrant. Where was Mulgrew's loyalty when he ran his contract down at Aberdeen to sign for Celtic on a free. There wasn't any because by signing for Celtic he progressed his career and it is the same now for Rovers for us to progress we need to move on from Charlie Mulgrew.

Stupid comment to make imo. Comes across as entitled when I think he's lucky that his wages or so high we can't shift him - because that's the only reason he's still here. Has been a liability at the back for a couple of years now.

Not sure why he thinks he is entitled to any more from us, we took him on when he had reputation for being injury prone, and then rewarded him with a long contract no one else would have given him where he has since lost his legs and rinsed us, even when he was on loan at another local club in the same division. 

Can guarantee if a Prem team had come calling a couple of seasons ago he wouldn't be preaching the same line
