I think it’s gone a long way to shoring us up in the last few minutes, we went 4-4-2 vs WBA and brought on a pacy outlet we needed yesterday.

Possibly, but watching the WBA match it seemed we didn't drop as deep because we had more athleticism and composure in midfield in the form of Travis. By the 75th minute we've normally lost one of Smallwood or Evans because they are running on fumes. That's normally when our defensive problems start.

There was some talk about Leeds looking at him recently but I can't see where he fits in the starting XI. Shelvey would give us far more if that rumour is to be believed. Bielsa/Ortiz will probably look abroad sadly.

Shelvey was absent for Newcastle yesterday having been to see a specialist in Barcelona midweek about a long standing thigh injury so that may not happen at the mo

Apparently Benitez isn't his biggest fan. Lad has so much talent but has a screw loose no doubt. I think he would be brilliant in out team as he can change a game with ease. Always liked him.

Dacks worth around 20 million in today's current climate. If villa value grealish at 30 million or whatever it was and James Maddison moved in the summer for 25 million then I seen no reason why Dack can't be valued at 20 million at least.

He's around grealish's age and maybe 2 years older than Maddison but he's English and could potential hit a figure of 15 goals and 10 assists by the summer.

If he played for villa them transfer value sites would have him alone at 23 million let alone the full squad. Full of biased big club delusion.

Shelvey is Premier League quality. I would have thought that there'd be a few Premier League clubs interested in him before Championship clubs get a shout.

He was the main reason Newcastle got back into the game against us the other day.

They were awful before he came on. Changed the game for them.

Somethings not right with him, whether it's attitude or what I dunno.

He was on the verge of a big move a couple of years ago, then he broke his leg. He's hardly played since then. Quite a gamble there, I hope it comes good for him.

Yeah, I remember there being a real buzz about him for a little while during his earlier days at Brentford. A broken leg is a hard one to come back from at his age. Ironically his leg was broken when playing against Ipswich. The player who broke his leg left in the summer though.

We reportedly turned down that sort of money for him when West Brom were chasing him so why would we accept less now?

John Percy, usually quite a reliable source, reckons Martin O'Neill to be appointed at Forest later today.

Quite a surprise as it looked like they'd be going down the foreign route and he's very much his own man who wouldn't take kindly to interference. A club legend there, I think he's a top manager but a lot of their fans not overly impressed.

Be interesting to see if they expect promotion this season or if he will get time into next year.

After being subjected to the last few years of his management of the national team, I would say poor Forrest fans. They thought they were getting Jokonovic. O'Neill is a dinosaur, makes Mowbray look like a young go getter and tactically expansive.

I know we don't have the best team we have had in the last 20-30 years (probably the worst in fact) but I have no doubt Mich McCarthy will do far better with the players at his disposal. O'Neill was constantly falling out with players. I would have had no faith in him talking Declan Rice into committing to Ireland. A cranky man I thought. Add Keane into the mix as his assistant and things could get very interesting there. They might get Forrest going this season all the same. Both being such club legends.

I'd like to see Keano back in the dugout alongside O'Neill just for the comedy aspect. It's been over five years since O'Neill was in club management, after nearly relegating Sunderland and getting sacked. Strange move imo.

He's set to be officially announced as this month's Forest manager tomorrow.

Always been a fan of MON. Wealth of knowledge and great football brain.

Not sure what Forest are thinking with this appointment to be honest.

His better days are gone although day to day with a Keane on the training ground it could work.

Not many big egos at Forest for Keane to rub up the wrong way.

He was a really good player in his day and a fine manager. Nothing is forever though.
