It's crazy. A month is no discouragement to scumbags wanting to make a name for themselves. I am sure in his circles he is a hero of sorts. Although even there he shouldn't be as it was one of the most pathetic punches I have ever seen.

Supporters love to hear it and he knows it. O'Neill is coming out with all the same stuff at Forest only expectations there are higher and the fans harder to please. it will only wash for so long. Lambert is getting away with it because blame for their demise is heaped on Evans, McCarthy and Hurst rather than Lambert. They all expect him to come good. He'll get some stick if they're struggling in League One next season.

Lambert's at a crossroads now. Having gone down with Stoke and Ipswich in consecutive seasons and only been in each of his last four jobs for about 6 months, he simply has to do a good job somewhere.

Don't know whether his ego will be able to take being in League One but that's probably as good as it will get.

O’Neill will be gone soon, Forest fans had enough already and are calling for his head.

O'Neill in his pre-Sunderland days was a top top manager and I'd have been delighted with him at Rovers. Sunderland was a poor choice really as the rot had already set in there and has continued since. Also no coincidence that his career has gone downhill since John Robertson retired from being his assistant.

Think Forest got him in to try and bounce them into the play-offs this season with momentum. Hasn't happened, will be interesting to see if they back him this summer given he's only there until 2020 anyway.

He won’t be there come summer if the Forest fans get their wish, lose this weekend he could be gone.. Wonder where Forest will go from here once he’s been potted.. Wagner or a Jokanovic maybe?

I think O'Neill is worse. At least Mowbray has a good way with the players. Can you imagine the atmosphere between O'Neill, Keane and the players when things aren't going well? Wouldn't surprise me if there was a bust up of sorts there before the season is out

Interesting that the Blackpool protest group are there saying "we're proof that supporters' voices make a difference". It's a nice rhetoric but the reality is somewhat different. The only reason the Oystons are gone is because another rich bloke took them to court and essentially forced them out. Had Belokon not done so then I imagine nothing would have changed.

If my understanding is correct the Oystons aren't even gone yet. Whilst the club remains in the hands of the court receiver Oyston can pay off his debts to Belokon and re-take control of the club. Unlikely as it seems he can't get his hands on that amount of cash. But could happen.

One thing Ken Anderson is right on - to exist at this level you need a very rich investor pumping money in every year. Talk of self-sufficiency is dreamland stuff.

Begs the question then why did Anderson take over at Bolton?

It's almost always rich men coming in to depose other rich men. It was the same at Liverpool. The "Spirit of Shankly" protest stuff was a nice story but the reality again is that Hicks & Gilette exhausted their options with the bank which subsequently pressured them into selling. This would have happened with or without protests.

There was a video of famous faces one after the other imploring them to sell and putting pressure on the football authorities. It also brought about interest from other parties that there would be an opportunity coming up. SOS made the Hicks and Gillette ownership of Liverpool toxic and they had to sell.

Don’t want to reopen old wounds but it pains me that we didn’t show that passion even just to get rid of Kean - which as least our minority protests eventually managed. Who knows what 20,000 Rovers fans could have achieved. All too late now and we are stuck with Venkys simply because of the millions we are in debt to them.

Fans can make a difference and I applaud the Blackpool fans who made their sacrifices.

Venky's have made Rovers more toxic than Liverpool ever were. Kean Out went global. Nothing happened. Manager ended up resigning rather than being sacked, Venky's are still here having turned down numerous alleged investment and takeover opportunities and being humiliated globally and even in their own country to some degree. Why? Because they don't want to sell and no amount of protesting or toxicity can make them sell if they don't want to. Hicks & Gilette sold cheap because RBS forced them to do so and they ran out of ways to raise capital. The Oystons were ousted because Belokon felt taken advantage of and won a huge high court settlement. Wimbledon fans had their club physically taken away from them and had to start a new one (fair play to them). Coventry, Charlton, Port Vale, Portsmouth, Bolton, Rovers... the list goes on of clubs which have been brutalised by ownership with the fans left with little choice but to watch it unfold unless another rich person comes in to temporarily "save the day".

Football is in a bad, bad way and until people realise just how bad it is, it's going to keep getting worse. Something needs to be done.

Honestly, Venkys have not been humiliated globally. I’d suggest hardly even in India. Only football fans in the UK will have even heard of Venkys at all.

Their share price has gone through the roof over the last few years.

A small group of people made a small ripple, mainly confined to the football world.

It is Rovers who have been humiliated.

After Anderson’s parting shot this morning an announcement has been made that’s theres an agreement in place for Bassini to take over.

Apparently Bassini, on his own steam, is going to come in and wipe out all their debts, and then fund them to get back to the Premier League in 3 years.

Given the length of time this has taken to get done, the desperation with which Anderson must have been trying to offload the club, and Bassini's background (bankrupt as recently as 2014) I'd say it's time for the alarm bells to go off.

All that stands in his way is EFL approval as Fit and Proper. No problem.
