I feel without success on the field, it will be a tall order to shift season tickets. It's been like watching paint dry at Ewood this season. 5 and 6 changes every game..Crazy. Passing back and sideways, so boring. I do feel they will have to reduce their prices to get folk interested. Again for walk on fans 25/28 quid is far to much..

Season Tickets £320 mean £14 per game. 8500 will pay no matter what.

Walk ons charged £22 - £30

PLUS £3 Waggott Tax.

Grossly unfair 2 tier system. No wonder nobody goes down.

Put season tickets up to £18  per game £414.

Make all games a flat rate of £20 for walk ons NO Waggott Tax.

ST holders will either pay it or convert to walk ons and pay even more. Fair pricing for all fans and consistently more in the ground.

Not sure about the ST rise we don't want to discourage anyone. When people sack off them for match by match they usually then end up part timers.

Totally agree on the flat rates, certainly for BBE and Riverside.

20 quid bog standard

25 quid the more attractive fixtures and just leave it at that.

No match day surcharges.
No £40+ match day tickets for any game.

I agree with Tomphil’s pricing idea.

I don’t think we can really complain about the price of season tickets, without devaluing the product, to be honest.

A couple of full (or near full) Darwen Ends a season means they won’t do a Deepdale style simple price structure, as Waggott knows he can charge around £30 (£40 for Leeds) and still have 6,500-7,500 coughing up.

Can anyone compare our prices (season tickets and match day) to other teams in the league? I don’t have the figures but I’m assuming that on both fronts we’re at the lower end of the pricing scale?

It’s easy to demand cheaper tickets but I understand that if we don’t break around 15k for each game currently, we make a loss. To lower the ticket prices, we’d need to have a very significant uptake to make it worthwhile. I honestly can’t see that happening, although I don’t deny that it may be worth a try.

At £22-£40 we are certainly not on the cheap end of the scale for match tickets. A standard game is usually £30+ in the Jack Walker (most popular stand for match day purchases).

Our season tickets at £350 -£500 are also not anywhere near the cheapest. They are actually fairly standard for the league, which is fair enough, but this myth of ‘dirt cheap STs’, ‘cheapest in the division’ still lingers.

We used to be cheap and renowned for it. £199 STs etc.. However, they have steadily crept up over the last few years. Our low revenue is because we only sell 9,000 of them with 2/3000 walk ons (plus away support). Not because we are at the ‘lower end of the pricing scale’.

£28. £30-£32 in the JW. For a mid table second division side. (And this fixture is tagged as Cat B, our lowest price category!).

If that’s the ‘cheap end of the pricing scale’ for this league be thankful for small mercies.

Wouldn’t work in reality OEB.

As tomphil says, a lot of ST holders buy out of habit. If they felt their ST had got too dear they’d just stop coming, they wouldn’t convert to match day purchasers, so crowds would plummet.

The main reason cup ties see big reductions in crowds is ST holders not being arsed to buy a match ticket. The ST discount has to stay or things really will look dire.

To increase revenue.

The burden is being carried by loyal fans who walk on, being charged twice the price PLUS Waggott Tax

Unfair pricing policy.

But it wouldn't tho cos ST holders would just not renew if Prices were up..

Cant. keep expecting ST holders to paying more.

Match day prices should 20 pounds per game adults wise apart from Jack Walker upper stand(25) . A pound for under 11. 12-17 years 5 pounds, 18-24 years old 10 pounds. Over 65 10 pounds.

I think all clubs are going to have to realise that prices for match tickets are going to have to radically reduce, never mind increase further.

With the increase in internet and TV viewing and growing prices its only a matter of time before going to watch games becomes an expensive luxury and the younger generation don't bother with it.

Anyone who goes to midweek games will see this unfolding.

People like Waggott can come up with whatever numbers they like to try and justify £30 second division match tickets. It can't last.

We’ll have had 4 night matches at Ewood between late December and late February.

QPR aside they will all have been available on Sky. Also a good chance that with them fighting for automatic, either (or both of) West Brom and Leeds will be shown. So that would be pretty much half of our home fixtures from the Christmas period onwards to be shown on Sky.

End of the day Sky coverage is the deal with the devil football has made in the top two divisions, nothing new, but now also having all night matches (unless a re-arrangement), of which you play plenty of in the Championship, shown on TV, plus a few more through the season can only make non renewal of STs and non purchase of a match ticket at up to £30 a pop easier and easier as time goes by.

Would you pay 700 pounds for your season ticket ?

Hull and Stoke are on the red button in February. Both are midweek games.

We would all like this in an ideal world...sadly reality is we are losing Millions per season.

Reading through Miller’s write up of the consultation meeting.

I thought it was interesting that the club are looking into putting home fans back in the Darwen End - surely it has to be promoted heavily as a singing section?

Prepare for the ground to become quieter again though.

Although every song has to mention Burnley for some reason, there has at least been an improvement in the atmosphere.

Has there? There’s a pocket of lads near me in N01 and that’s about it.

Of course if it goes back to being 300 hardy souls in the Darwen End then you’re right and there’s no point bothering.

However, if they properly engage the fans and promote it, like Huddersfield, like Reading etc and get 1000+ in there, with flags, banners etc then it will make a difference.
