I agree he’s not worth 20 Million, and Dack isn’t wort 750k. Original point was the guy was acting like we are Man City throwing money about and we are not.

The latest stuff with Nyambe, does anyone really care he was dropped? Same as Rothwell. Have the odd good moment, but by no means deserve to start every week.

Nyambe is fast and strong, as an attacking full back though, hopeless. He’s got one move, stand still, then Knock long me chase after, then after that 9/10 no end product.

Same fans crying over Nyambe are same who didn’t want Armstrong in the side.

Nyambe wasn't just dropped. He was bombed out of the squad altogether. That's my gripe. A manager can pick his preferred XI on form, mistakes, plans but Nyambe if fit has to be in the squad and an option from the bench. There can be no excuse nor justification for that omission. I do not think any other defender - THB, Branthwaite, Lenihan, Ayala, Douglas, Bell - would ever be dropped out of the squad if fit. Mowbray wouldn't dare. He does with Nyambe.

Only 2 right backs in the division have more assists than Nyambe. He's an excellent defender and is improving all the time going forward. If he does depart this summer then we will not get a better player than Nyambe in.

You don’t know that. We lost Graham, Mulgrew and Dack who scored all our goals, and then Armstrong appeared.

Honestly couldn’t care less if Nyambe left. We will get some one else, they will do fine.

If you think Nyambe is integral to our team, your not watching every match. Yeh he’s alright. That’s about it.

Previous 2 games he has THB on the bench itching to bring him on yet when THB starts Nyambe, who can play right back and in the middle can’t make the bench because of course we need Buckley there along with Rothwell, Elliot, Dolan, Evans and Brereton.....you know just in case 5 midfielders get injured.

In fact I recall he did similar 18 months or so ago, all of a sudden Bennett was in at right back and Nyambe out of the squad.

Also he’s cost us a few goals recently so like Raya he has to be dropped and made an example of in interviews.

If there is one constant in football it’s that managers will perpetually come out with self serving nonsense, even ‘decent and honest’ ones but this is just insulting 

If he likes you / you get on etc. Then you are immune. Doesn't like you / fallout etc... Watch out for the bus.

I may be the only one but I'm really starting to hate this man. Whatever he has done for us in the first 2 seasons, the appreciation and gratitude to him are slowly evaporating.

With every match, every interview, he doesnt seem to know what he's doing or saying. Totally disillusional. All that talk about been 2nd in possession in the league is just rubbish when we aren't getting results. Do we get a wildcard promotion if we win the possession league?

It's getting stale. I know a new manager wont guaranteed promotion but sometimes, you just need a slight reboot.

Any gratitude I had for him being the manager as we bank rolled promotion from league one has been totally soured by his various statements this week.

We’d decide not to go to ewood again whilst he was in charge. If he carries on I’ll be going but sitting jw lower and giving him both barrels. He won’t be sleeping for that.

Let's hope Dack gets his mojo back as he builds up his fitness, but let's not kid ourselves, signing a two year contract extension does not necessarily mean he will stay.

I'm sure the injury and recovery time played a part in his decision to sign a new contract, as it gives him protection for complications / loss of form etc.

By signing the contract he can't lose either way. Well rewarded if he stays and still the possibility of an upwards move if he gets his fitness and form back.

Obviously, it's also good for the club in terms of a fee if he leaves.

Most clubs recognise when a manager is getting stale and act. Not here.

Thankfully our guy is a man of integrity who will walk away if he thinks he is holding us back. Wonder how bad we will have to be before he thinks that? Right now he seems to think he has us punching above our weight just by being midtable in the Championship - so it could be a while yet.

Hi all,

I'm a first time poster having followed Blackburn since a kid. Some would say a glory supporter but I took to Blackburn when all my friends were Spurs fans because I wanted to be different and I loved the team that was being assembled and Shearer was my idol. I started following Blackburn a couple of years before they won the league but the likes of Flowers, Berg, Hendry, Le Saux, Batty, Sherwood, Ripley, Wilcox, Shearer and Sutton amongst others just gripped me.

Like most, the years after Allardyce were horrific and difficult to watch but since Mowbray came in it became a breath of fresh air which is easy to forget when you get used to that uplift and you just expect it to go on.

We were so unlucky to get relegated that year but the league one season after a slow start was fantastic and the stability brought by Mowbray and Co cannot be under estimated.

A season of consolidation fine but for me the cracks started to appear last year. Incidentally the 1st post on this thread from August 2019 doesnt contain much difference to what we would post now after Barnsley.

Contradictions and excuses galore I can't even be bothered to read Mowbrays thoughts anymore, it just irritates me.

The work done off the field is great to build this club for better things but that squad is capable of so much more. Everytime I get to see Blackburn on Sky I regret it. I can't remember the last game I watched and felt entertained and buzzing at the performance or even proud that this is my team. Grinding out results is a must, we are not Barcelona but there have been so many abject performances and when I watch Blackburn I liken it to my days on a school playground recently. Hit it forward and chase in the hope it falls on the feet of one of your team. No? OK try again, and again....

There has to be a better Manager tactically who can get the best out of these lads who mostly are good footballers as we have seen. A Manager who can see the potential given the ability in the club and the infrastructure behind it.

I'm a Manager by day but don't claim to be a Football Manager but I do know from my days football coaching that a 6ft plus striker in the middle doesn't mean you have to play long ball and chase. Armstrong is great but Gallagher was great through the middle when on loan. Elliott the assist man of the Championship can't play every game but two games out of the starting 11 and we've thrown it away. Gallagher flanked by Armstrong, Elliott, Dolan or Brereton is exciting. Dack with his neat touches and arriving in the box or Rothwell on a swerving run just adds to the ammunition with a Travis, Evans or Johnson holding. Swap Rothwell for one of those holding when away if needs be knowing that Nyambe and Douglas can get forwards and with a steady and consistent Centre back pairing governed by Kaminski and we look pretty formidable. Bennet and Downing can be an influence and play cameo roles and add experience to a young team.

Just spend a week with Kaminski to teach him that he needs to kick the ball anywhere on that green bit, ideally to a blue and white shirt and that's another step forward for the great shot stopper.

JRC is another youngster I like and I think another manager could get more out of Chapman as Cotterill is proving albeit the level below.  

Bin Trybull and Holtby. Nothing against Germans but both are injury prone and I'd prefer to see the likes of Buckley and Davenport develop more for the future. 

As for Bell, I'm not sure what I can post so will leave it at an end...

In summary, TM did a great job but like most have said, stuck for ideas and it's destroyed another year of hope. I don't mind not being in the Premier League for another year but to be ruled out in February again is a disaster. Mulgrew was a favourite of mine and someone I thought could have played the holding midfield role last year utilising his goals and delivery whilst being able to tackle but time moved on, now it's karma and time for Tony to do the same thing. I wish I could see signs of it clicking and coming together and injuries were a valid excuse at times as was the pitch but these last weeks have seen better pitches with a squad of footballers so hoof and chase just doesn't cut it anymore. Tony took the wrong turn if it was Bolton he wanted... that's a taxi I'm willing to fund and tip.

IMO, with fans in the ground, he would no longer be in a job.

Whilst both men got us relegated, neither threatened the long term future of our club. Neither was in position long enough. Mowbray is.
