According to TM the only two ways are build an identity through a manager OR sack a manager every time they lose a few games and start again. 

Radical school of thought but how about the new manager comes in and y'know does well and gets success. Why is that not even an option? TM hasn't mentioned that which is surprising as that has happened at a number of clubs. Strange - almost as if he isn't trying to present a balanced view. 

Also the £100 million is a lie. Ask Sheffield United, look where Barnsley Reading and the mighty Brentford are.

The gall of the man is unbelievable. He references a game from 4 years ago as to proof of it's success. I can name a lot more games from.far more recently where it hasn't worked. 

The stats do him no favours either. Only 2 goals from starts in that position show statistically it isn't working. The fact that 5 come as a substitute, which won't all be right wing appearances, also doesn't support that this is a good idea either. So why persevere.

The man is a buffoon but he's also a crafty sod who is very consciously painting an image of continuity and "as you were folks" into the minds of supporters.

A few more weeks of this and a couple more wins in the dead rubbers and it won't need much for him and his acolytes behind the scenes to cart on into another season, claiming that there is a process underway, continuity is needed, development is in progress. 

Not long ago it was a case of getting through the games and then reviewing things in the summer when a parting of the ways would suit all concerned. Prepare yourselves for a shift away from that with a series of interviews like this one to implant reluctance to seek change and convince people that no other manager could match Mowbray's performance and journey.

It would be almost funny if those behind the scenes didn't actually believe it.

By end May there will be no question about the manager's future and the only question will be whether we fans are prepared to tolerate another year of it or cough up another £450 to have the p*ss taken out of us again.

I'm sure Sharpe and Mowbray are now delighting in seeing how many different ways they can come up with to take the piss out of the fans.

It's absolutely meaningless, the two things are completely unrelated., talk about a non sequitur. The only mystery is how the LT let him get away with it time after time.

You honestly couldn't make this load of old cobblers up and you haven't been able to for quite some time. The only straw I'm grasping onto is that maybe he knows he's gone already and simply doesn't care what he says anymore.

Even then he should be showing the Club a great deal more respect than he has been doing.

i think our tony has a massive ego in the managerial sense and compares himself to the very top level,of course he is`nt very good and when it does`nt go right,he blames everyone and everything else for his shortcomings,he`s well shoehorned in at rovers,it`s a dream job for him,only way we`ll be rid is if he either dies,decides himself that he wants to go or some club even more insane than ours decides they want him

Just to point out Brentford - that massive club we one day aspire to be like - have got through 3 managers in their revolution. Warburton, Smith and the current chap. If Brentford are such a food model then surely that shows losing the manager isn't the be all and end all of said identity and chances. 

Why does no one in the media pull him up on his drivel.

It would be nice if someone had the brains and balls to point out some of this stuff to him when the verbals are spilling out unchecked.

The way Brentford are set up and run allows managerial changes without too much uphevel. Similar probably at Barnsley another of his 'inspirations', then there's Leeds who had to move through a few to get one good enough for promotion.

We can also chuck in Sheff Utd who got a manager who bounced them through from lge 1 to the Prem. Now he's gone as they look to regroup and go again.  Then there's a team called Middlesbrough who had to sack an under performer in order to take the next big step forwards.

He might have heard of that one. The propagandagraph wouldn't dare point any of this out though. Maybe they know it's pointless because unlike the afformentionds he has the inside of this club stitched up just how he wants it.

We'd better hope to god he isn't here next season as he appears to have written it off already looking at that.

No interference, off the pitch trouble, left to get on with it with trusted staff. No legacy of FFP issues or crippling wage bill.

No forced sales or major departures.

Net transfer fee spend pushing £20 million and enviable wage budget.

Productive academy and class training facilities.

Anyone else other than Mowbray had the above?

Not listened to the interview but by the sounds of it he went off on another humanitarian waffle when asked about the proposed Super League.

Some of what he was saying was probably correct but there's a time and place to start going on about the pandemic again and peoples lives. To me that just sums him up he puts a sob story spin on everything from a football pitch to a simple question not club related.

It really is no wonder he has the owners ear he's a walking sermon these days. It's also no wonder he's no ruthlessness in his body or a winning mentality to drill into his players.

A career with a white dog collar on awaits him, he'd be good at that.  Instead of being intent on dumbing down the club to make it easier for him and everybody to manage, he really really should hand over the reigns to someone who has a decent amount of drive and ambition for a little bit more.

He does seem to be a very self-pitying character. If this was world War two, he'd be going on about how we couldn't realistically beat hitler, sure the Americans were a great help, but there's only so much they can do, we've had some terrible injury problems with the SAS, the Germans had a head start on us with armaments production, those cliffs in Normandy look awful high, and it's a very long way to Berlin. But we're on a journey, and it involves using the paras as stretcher bearers, tanks that only have reverse gear, getting orders by pigeon post from India and mission briefings that involve running around a lot and shooting the first chance you get. 

 

He's completely given up, but he wants his payoff. It's kind of funny in a way, because venkys keep on getting taken in by his comments to the press which are in actual fact an imprecation to bin him

Two wins from 17 matches. And yet all I saw in the build up to this match in the media was about ‘next season’ under Mowbray. It’s scandalous that he’s still here and it’s scandalous that the press haven’t brought him to account.
