Tony Mowbray Discussion

Thanks chaddy.

The fans are clearly still on his side, despite the feeding frenzy on here.

Let hope he and the team rewards that loyalty tomorrow and we thump the blunts.

There's about 2 people on Facebook who post on the Rovers feed positively come what may, and from what I've seen a handful on Twitter who look like they only support the club as some sort of expensive drinking game. Everyone else seems to have had enough.

Anyone else is either on the wind up or they have a very skewed way of caring about their club if they are happy with 7-0 at home. Some are having a good laugh about it.

I know there's some football fans who can't separate the manager from the club and they literally won't criticise anything about the club, not even Kean, Venkys or JA. I don't understand it but each to their own. For me that's not caring about your club to see it go down in flames. We're already seeing what's happened to the club by people allowing managers and officials to do whatever they like. Kean would still be in charge if there hadn't been all out war against him inside and out.

He's basically asking for fans to have a go at each other in the stands,i am working tomorrow but i feel like skipping it just to go to the game and boo the fucker for 90mins.

The one thing I am sure of is when the day comes that the crowd at Ewood turns on him he will lose the plot completely.

He is hiding behind his claim that he doesn't do Social Media and that current criticism is aimed at the players more than him, which I am pretty sure it's not.

An earful will wipe the smile of his mug.

He might go full Coco and claim he didn't hear anything.

Don't mistake it for unconditional backing for him though it's a brow beaten fanbase. Most have just given up and either don't go anymore or just turn up as is their duty as fans and just sit there.

The crowds bear testament to this.

But he doesn’t need to try and divide the match going fans, there is very, very little dissent against him.

Even after a 7-0 mauling there was a collective shrug of the shoulders.

He heard those muted boos alright v Fulham:

“The guy who is shouting abuse, tell him to shut up and get on with supporting your team, that’s what would I do, that’s how I’ve always followed my team.''

The other night when the 3rd i think it was went in and a few rumbles of dissent started he straight away bolted and hid on the bench.  Then when it passed and the crowd tried to rally the team briefly he re appeared.

And of course stood there hands in pockets, the guy is a complete flake.

It's the backlash online that has wound him up. He's preparing those fans you mention in the ground to stand up against anybody who calls him out. "Tell them to shut up". The narrative is already being set that anybody who doesn't get behind this young side and criticises Mowbray isn't a proper fan. That's where the division aspect of it comes into it.

I thought he claimed not to read any online stuff so can’t see how anything on social media can wind him up. Unless of course that’s another lie from a man who never lies.

I think he’s very close to walking…having conversations with staff about it as per the article.

Also interesting that he’s not claiming the club to be his….”the players need to show X for their club” etc

Dead man walking. No one is telling me anything different. Just a matter of time imo.

Oh Paul, don't get our hopes up again, please.

Incidently, if he'd fronted up on Thurs morning & walked, I'd actually have had a bit of respect for him. As it happens,  after today's comments I have, and always will have zero respect. Turning fans against each other, blaming everything but himself, saying we should be grateful etc. Kean level now, make no mistake.

There's certainly an element of extreme delusion in what he says.

The bit about not bringing Pep Guardiola in and the next manager after him being in the same position is all to bolster this notion that he is the only man capable of managing this club in its current form.

Now I know the job can't be easy working for these scumbags but the club is doing him a favour by still employing him, not the other way around.

Yet I keep on coming back to something I heard from Waggott back in 2018 along the lines of we need to do x, y, z to be able to keep Tony Mowbray at the Club. These buffoons i think really do believe he is a top drawer manager that we are lucky to have.

He's not a good manager. He's competent. That's about it really. But it seems to me that he genuinely thinks that he is doing us a favour not throwing in the towel.

We promoted Gary Bowyer from the reserves and he did as good as if not better job with less cash to spend.

Mowbray:

“Speaking to the staff, the laundry ladies, the kit men, the chefs, they really care about this club, they are really passionate, they don’t want their manager to walk away at this moment in time, they want him to try and keep gelling these players together and at this time that’s what I’m thinking.

“If we had got a result the other night, and that feels a long way off after what happened, but we could have gone fourth in the division. Why so much negativity? Win on Saturday and we could go into the top six.

“I let people with negative mindsets get on with their lives and not affect mine."

He is most certainly not preparing to walk!

A hard time with fans at Ewood though changes the narrative!

He does need his ego topping up though.

Hes an absolute wind up merchant under zero pressure from his best mate Steve Waggott the Messiah

We can't change manager because we are a town club. Makes sense.

Just hope Mowbray has found the philosophers stone and can live forever so he doesn't ever need to retire, otherwise we would be in trouble as no other manager would be able to work here.

Before the Fulham game, he said on sky that fans on social media would be criticising him if Mitrovic scored after he said he had no plans for him.

Hes VERY aware of social media.

I stand by this.

Head on the block - doubt even a win on Saturday will be enough to save Mowbray.

Sadly, I don't think he should ever have been appointed and, IMO, his departure will be at least four and a half years too late.

To be fair to mercer i'd been told by that major changes are coming in the next few weeks but no one seemed sure what they are, that came from someone very close to the club

Interesting to see comments from @PeteJD13 @Paul Mani

In the main, totally bemused by Mowbray's attitude in today's press conference.  IMO, the attitude of a manager who knows he wont be in post for much longer.

The past 10yrs has proven that despite constant managerial changes the club continues to decline JH, not bolstering a notion, its there for everyone to see.

We've had CEO after CEO and manager after manager, its not hard to see that the problems are in Pune not Blackburn, but change the manager, you never know unless you try.

But a word of caution, the posters on here tonight wanted the Barnsley manager last season, he's on the scrap heap, Chris Houghton too and lets not forget Mick McCarthy, Mark Robbin will be next.....

Mowbray has outlasted all of those managers, done a far better job than them all.

Treading water is acceptable to me until we get rid of these owners, Mowbray is a steady hand until that day comes.

Resigns from Coventry because he felt he couldn't take the club forward. Here he's happy to just shamble along and insult our collective intelligence week after week.

Because he knew he was going to get the chop anyway. Here he's on a meal ticket

My point is, we are still a mile away from some big groundswell against him anyway. So in no way a comparison to the actual divide and conquer days of Kean or even Allardyce whose mere presence triggered many a row in the stands.

He’s the most popular manager since Hughes, by a very wide margin, still.
