Yet it is all still there, dormant, but there.

I bet if you had asked around in the away end at Deepdale the other week what folks’ postcodes are I imagine you’d have heard a majority (or damn close to it) of them not being a Blackburn (or indeed a Darwen) one.

Yet the club does nothing, nothing, to harness that.

Both Alan Shearer and Alan Patridge like their Rovers, they wouldn’t be seen dead in a Mini Metro!

Rovers v Liverpool at Ewood 1935 FA Cup tie..

I note the Blue and White halves were reversed from those of the modern shirt (see in particular the shots of the players coming out of the tunnel at the start). When did we settle on Blue on the right and White on the left, I wonder - I'm sure this has been debated on here ad nauseam before...?

There are a number of articles written by the great Peter White, who is described as "Lancashire Evening Telegraph Deputy Sports Editor". If Peter the Great was only a deputy who the hell was the Sports Editor?

One thing that stands out reading these programmes, is that noy only did we have great players, but also a hell of a lot of good people working in the background for the good of the club.

I had a full set of home and away programmes for the Championship winning season in mint condition, I put them on eBay and didn't have one person showing interest. In the end I gave them away to a young son of a friend.

I have just watched this covering the day of Jacks passing and the promotion to the Prem and 10 years of staying there. It was enough to bring a tear to the eye, and is a testament to how much we have been robbed since. I was so mad at the end I'm going to have a few stiff drams to calm myself.

RIP Uncle Jack.
