Out of interest re. the PA system etc., is the same equipment used for emergency announcements, or is there a different means for that? If it is the same, I am amazed it has passed the inspections it presumably gets!

I honestly think merch is one area where ‘outsourcing’ would actually work. FootballTown, TerraceStore and the BRFCS merch are all infinitely better than anything (kits aside) in the club shop.

I'm sure we did this during the Lonsdale era and it was beyond awful, worse than it is now. The club shop was, to all intents and purposes, a crap Sports Direct branch.

That’s why I quoted reputable merchants 😅

We need to keep in Rovers hands and we can used Terrace store anyway without Rovers store being outsourcing to a third party.

I remember the Sport direct days and it was bloody awful

- Venkys wont be coming over any time soon because, well, they have better things to be doing.

- Season ticket sales are massively disappointing, but no awareness of why they predictably have dipped.

- Why was a reasonable amount not made available for transfers? Well, its no guarantee of success, end of discussions. Obviously but it makes it easier.

Who would have guessed that almost being relegated coupled with hated owners who won't fund the club properly would affect season tickets?! No apparent realisation that hiking the prices massively after a tiny early-bird would put off people. The phrasing makes it very clear that prices are going to rise heavily next season and see off a few more die-hards.

All in all, the usual mediocre employees unwilling to actually try to make Rovers a better club.

"But we only sold 3 tickets on the day."

Probably cos you had told Blackpool they weren't available. And if you hadn't, they tagged you in a couple of times that week saying no sales on the day. Surely you should have corrected them.

How come I know this, but 6 senior officials at Rovers attending a supporters forum and using it as an excuse don’t?

Still sooo out of touch on the season tickets although when you look at the breakdown the numbers in most categories are awful and we should be doing so much better.

However to expect a 10% rise after the mess of last season is beyond dumb, the awful home form and all the nonsense going on again around the club plus selling star players.

The small discount ensured the numbers didn't drop off the cliff !

They'll just use this now to justify never making a bold price reduction that has proven to work at other local clubs.

why is that such a massive thing for you?

They budget for 10,000 ST sales. the under 12's were massive up and That is the future of our fan base.

We have sold 21 more season ticket than last season. They should have held the prices for at least another month at least at £349

Do we know how much Cantwell and Toth cost Rovers?

The ST issue is frustrating. I get that the prices are better than they have been but the fact remains they're still higher than I (middle aged male, decent enough job, young family) can justify. Cut them to £200 and I get one, if I get one then my 2 sons do as will my 70yo Aunt despite the fact we won't make it to more than realistically 8/9 games. Instead we'll now buy tickets on a game by game basis and maybe go to half that.

I can just feel they're itching to bang prices up again using this season as an example that "cutting prices doesn't work"

Yep, not a chance we’ll ever see a proper reduction on adult tickets now, in fact, expect a hike.

We called it on here as soon as they went on sale ‘at least the kids price reduction has stopped a big fall in numbers’. It was obvious after that shambles of a season on and off the pitch (1 home win in months to boot) what would happen to adult sales with just 20 quid knocked off… well it was seemingly not obvious to the supposed commercial and marketing professionals down there.

There is such a lack of context regarding season tickets and I am not sure if it is purposeful manipulation or incompetent naivety, both of which are as bad as each other.

The initial reduction doesnt factor in what the prices are before, or the fact that we live in one of the least affluent regions. But mainly, there were massive price hikes throughout the summer.

Yes, a big reason for initial poor sales may have been a lack of transfer business. But why are they confused that when we did start signing players, for a small fraction of sales proceeds but ignoring that. People didnt then start suddenly buying considering the prices had since been massively increased.

It at least helps with the narrative that price reductions arent sustainable, and im sure the relevant fan groups will lap it up.

They shouldnt be increasing the price at any interval, full stop.

And I was just pointing out again that Venkys have no interest in the football club.

It's proven to work at this club as the majority of the tickets were sold when they were cheaper.

Absolute fucking cretins the lot of them. What makes them so fucking dumb is the fact thy think everyone else is as thick as they are.

Would appreciate insight into the tone of the meeting. Seemed from the minutes like it was quite confrontational, but I’m conscious of a bias against those running the club currently.

They’re either utterly daft or disingenuous, with some of the things they’re saying. I don’t think the daft stay in situ for as long as SP and SW have done, so I know where my money is.

Waggots been here long enough now to know how it works in these parts and you'd think knowing we have 4k buying match by match they'd be confident enough to slash prices like noblot and knobend did.

It's guaranteed to bring in at least 5k extras but he doesn't want to know and will spin any manufactured evidence to the contrary. No doubt making more money from match by match buyers as long as good numbers purchase factors in his small time thinking.
