Summer transfer window 2021.

When these lot finally create a steady base they tend to rip it up again ie the late Bowyer/Coyle/Lambert era.

Mowbray to his credit created another good base a few years ago but couldn't build on it clearly. So instead of taking the reigns and doing something proactive they just let it slide and now it might all get smashed up again.

2 steps backwards every 5 years it looks like being.

It’s so Rovers that the only player we were due to sign is now crocked so back with his parent club.

A circus of a transfer window.

I'm getting a feeling we might be being played again here.

One might have broken down over personal terms, terms that we must've know about from the off. Now the next one suddenly flags up an injury at the 11th hour, chances are neither will come.

Were they ever though ?

Biggest give away was one being a winger 🤣.

Or if genuine, the Brighton crock returning may work in out favour, now we have the Armstrong money.

He will have spent time with Lenihan and Williams in the Irish camp so will have great insight and a familiar face should he be interested in coming to Rovers.

Maybe. The 2 lads aren't in every squad and he's only been in one I think. I'm sure their paths have crossed though..

I surprised in his interviews that he has a full blown English accent.

I thought it was unusual when i saw he was a winger but then again that means nowt once they get here.

Indeed. He isn't 6'3+ so I knew it'd be a non-starter!

Regardless of the calibre of player who has left the building, the cold hard facts are TWELVE have left and ZERO have come in. When I tell my non-Rovers supporting fans this they genuinely think I'm making it up.

**Disclaimer:

I don't want us to sell the training ground, I'm just stating the facts which are missing in this debate**

Many football clubs in dire financial trouble sell the training ground, Wigan, Bolton, PNE, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Sheff Weds just off the top of my head, why are we any different? Why are we such a special case?

Venkys own the training ground, they own Ewood and the land surrounding the ground, nothing goes through unless they sign off, its basic stuff this.

It was the lack of transparency for me Gav. It all felt very sneaky to me. If people want to separate Mowbray from that and say it was all OK then fine, but it made and continues to make me feel very uneasy about Mowbray, Waggott and Venus.

Meanwhile we have billionaire owners.

If they are happy to sell off Jack Walker’s legacy rather than put right their own mistakes there is something wrong.

So Mowbray's new plan (Lancs Telegraph)  is for the whole team to contribute goals.  He wants more goals from midfield but apparently we don't have those players at the club so he needs to bring them in.  Defence need to weigh in with more goals from set pieces.  Except he doesn't practise set pieces.🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyway for me, I still think we need a strapping CB and a big physical midfielder so we can compete  physically. - before we think about adding more goals.

Did any of the teams you mention have Cat 1 status ?

Come one come all for your monthly "I can't believe they said that" highlighting the best of the telegraph's greatest comments.

Again, tony making perfect sense, telling the fans how it is. Speaking the truth and explaining to us what the plans are.

> There's plenty of evidence of players who've developed under TM. in fact, I think only chapman could be put forward as someone who hasn't really.

Sunderland sold the old training ground for housing, then took out a £9m loan secured against the new training facilities and ground, as did Derby and Southampton.

Apologies, Sheffield Wednesday sold Hillsborough to the mad owner and were relegated as a result last season due to financial irregularities, he's still in charge.

The big difference between any of those mentioned and us is that we were downsizing. We weren't moving to a new site, we were moving the STC to the Academy site which was smaller and it was doubtful whether the criteria for Category A could be met. However it was spun it was simply about money and two fingers were stuck up to the jewel of Jacks legacy. That alone makes it a despicable act by the horrible people behind it.

Nyambe, Bell, Lenihan, Gallagher, Brereton, Rothwell.  I'd argue that none of those have  improved under Mowbray.

Absolutely, Den. It's the ownership that worries me most. They still haven't got a clue what they are doing.

Great post Bazza, but I have to disagree with this part...they do have a clue what they're doing. They know exactly what they're doing and it works for them. For over a decade now. Hence groundhog day every bloody season.

It's us lot who still haven't got a clue what they are bloody well doing and why!!!!
