Attendances: A cause for concern

If they wanted to do right by the season ticket holders, they could have reduced the prices for the Nobbers game for everyone, but allowed season ticket holders in for free to the next home FA cup game.

Why not just offer people who attend the Sheffield United game the Preston game for 10 pounds and anyone who didn't its 20 pounds in all areas?

Bingo

That's the type of way around it although maybe 15 quid  again as it's a more attractive game to some.

It all comes back to perception again and the confusion they are creating with different pricing for every different game.

The charging of 7 pounds more for the same seat between the Swansea match and West brom game was stupid.  Now we have the PNE fixture coming in at double the Sheff U one and also in the mix was Fulham at £20.

So now we are hearing people say stuff that i'm not paying double what i did last time.  Devaluing it by having it too cheap is one issue but so is swapping and changing it around more that the bloody team.

You can see why Mowbray and Waggot go hand in hand neither has the first c;lue about getting something right and sticking with it.

All this would be avoided with an ST policy similar to that which Huddersfield did and one or two others.  Be bold on and off the field to get the punters in then look at sticking hold of them.

They could offer a loyalty scheme for those who buy a certain number of individual match tickets over the course of the season.

Buy a ticket for any 5 individual games, get the next one free. That sort of thing.

They'll still turn up in big numbers it's their cup final they won't be able to resist.

To so many of them from the in between areas it's their once a season big lash up away game.  Those types will pay the price because they aren't going every week.

The suits upstairs know this.

That'll rile the ST holders especially seeing as it was only 20 quid anyway.

Do ST holders really care? I never did, would rather have a full Ewood.

As long as it isn't cheaper than a ST, I'd see no issue

I'm the same but in the clubs eyes that's how they seem to look at things.

Is £30 that expensive? What do people consider a fair price? Away tickets have ranged from £25 to £33 for us this season. Appreciate I'm in a minority but I think it's about the going rate I'm afraid.

People will pay if they are entertained.
Sadly the football served up by Mowbray and Bowyer before him has been dull, turgid percentage football.

It’s only the dire hard mugs like you and me that are prepared to pay it.

I have just watched the first half of Paraguay and Chile. It cost me nowt, I still think I have been robbed. The football played has been dire.

I suppose £30 will be will be expensive to some inexpensive to others. However, if the question was: is £30 value for money to watch Mowbray’s misfits then unanimously it’s surely a no. Another way of looking at it would £30 be expensive to watch Tugay et al - definitely not. Is it expensive to watch this rabble - most definitely.

For any club especially in the championship 20 is plenty as the slogan goes. Particularly when there’s 20,000 empty seats to play with.

A lot of rovers fans won’t go because they’re boycotting, a lot won’t go because it’s not the prem so don’t price out those who can go and want to go.

£36 in the Jack Walker Upper which is the stand of choice for many match day ticket buyers… and that is an utterly ridiculous price for a second division game… though small mercies, it was going to be £42! Cloud cuckoo land down there.

Well in fairness the people I've spoken to that took advantage of the Sheff Utd offer WERE actually entertained on the pitch and the atmosphere was good by all accounts (I didn't go), so that made for an enjoyable experience. Do they think its like that every week though? Probably not unfortunately. Waggott can only hope it inspired a few to get season tickets following the game, I do know 2 people who did sign up after the game...its pretty obvious though that he completely messed up the season tickets at the start of the season and the bulletproof manager being at the helm is the other key factor.

Yes I think when prices breach £30 it makes people think twice, if they weren't already. I don't really see the point of having different price brackets these days for different stands, although I know most other clubs do it too. Riverside die hards I know like my dad would continue to sit there regardless rather than switch to the JW if it became cheaper.

It's fine margins to be honest. I think £20 every game is slightly too cheap, although making it that price for midweek games is a sensible idea.

I'm not a Waggott fan at all but I do sympathise slightly at the moment, although ultimately its him that screwed up the season ticket prices. There's little factors most of us don't even consider, for example trying to get temporary/agency staff at the moment is ridiculous and I'm assuming a lot of the catering and stewards fall into that bracket. These people are asking for much higher wages and being more picky about jobs right now - it all adds up and higher costs must be absorbed.

End of the day the ‘going rate’ is only that at individual clubs when folk are prepared to pay it, value is in the eye of the beholder.

But it’s all moot anyway, as if Rovers fans think it’s value or not, the pricing is purely down to squeezing as much as possible out of potential large followings of away fans - indeed that’s why we have Cat ‘A’ (PNE, Blackpool, WBA etc.) and ‘B’ (Luton, Millwall etc) in the first place.
