What's Your Favourite Rovers Shirt?

Reports are conflicting and Wikipedia is not the most reliable source at times.

I don't think there are many contemporary reports discussing this. All the things I've ever seen about this are after the fact. 

Fact is we've played in the famous blue and white for a lot longer than most clubs have existed.

Yeah, I think it's one of those things that will never get settled for sure.

I didn't like the 125 anniversary kit for that reason. I do wish I had got one now though.

Here’s an entry from a kits website, showing the ‘Maltese Cross’ shirts. Not sure I’ve seen any photos of us in those kits but I’ll have a look at some point.

The Maltese cross is controversial...no known photos of it being worn.Players back then who were selected to play for England were allowed to wear the three Lions England  badge on their shirts as recognition of the Honour.

Earliest known picture to exist I believe dated around 1878...

1996 -1998

 

Away:

1993 - 1995

The 96-98 one was nice but the CIS didnt look good on it imo.  McEwans looked great on kits. I think with the red McEwans on the front it would have been quite nice.  Didn't like the white socks with it though.  One of those logos that suits football shirts.   The Chelsea 3 sponsor is awful now for example.

 

My favourite is the 1994-96 home.  They did alter the home kit slightly after the 1995 title with the new asics logo and the new crest.  The crest on the shorts changed also and they changed the blue socks adding a thicker white band than had been there in 1994/95.

The 95/96 away was horrible. 

 

1992-94 very nice also.  The current home is the nicest since 1996 imo.
