Make no mistake this variant is massively infectious, it’s ripping through the country at pace, but football is a billion pound industry, being run like a pop up backstreet fireworks shop…..

There is a risk stepping out of your front door when it comes to Covid, but surely a reasonable process would be 5pm testing the day before then players isolate at home until going to the ground. You cannot run tests 3 hours before kick when your job involves 10's of thousands of people attending.

It's time to just get on with it. There is a reason stadiums are packed every week, pubs, bars, restaurants, shopping centres, you name it. People want to live their lives, not travel to games for them to be called off at the last minute. You deal with it, it's been 2 years, time for people to make their own decisions and for the media to stop telling us all how scared we should be.

Covid bow being used for alot of things when it suits certain people.

Sale Sharks called off their trip to  Newcastle today on Christmas Eve and will almost certainly lose 28-0, but the opposition have been able to enjoy more of their Christmas and fans, unless they travelled early, haven't been inconvenienced.

On this whole thing, if one club follow the guidelines and take precautions to contain covid and another club is far looser and have, did I read, 17 cases? There is no consequences. At what point does it become negligence? Southampton had players change in their cars to avoid over crowding in the changing room. Maybe take a bit more caution lads when there is spikes and new variants. Team should be announced now and insteads THOUSANDS are left disappointed, wasting time and money at a tight time in the process.

Terrible this... so late? All of covid cases in hull team Then. Hope its not deliberate that thet were 5 missing so they put some more as covid cases.. shambles

Would there be anything to stop a team submitting more positive tests then there really were? Let’s say they were down to 14 fit and knew they were weakened. Send same players positive test in several times, bumping up the numbers.

This should be a forefit from Hull.  If they're positive now they will have been yesterday and Xmas eve. Calling off a game a couple hours before kick off with fans already there should be an automatic 3-0 walkover.

Piss take

Fully agree. Can someone actually check this? Or is it Hull just saying we have 10 players out with covid? Looken forward to todays game.

Time for a major season review and decide when tests should be taken then at least traveling fans, hospitality staff and companies including club staff know the day before if games are going ahead.

Where do you get the idea from that the EFL or Premier league give a flying F*** about supporters
