Winning is most important, but them having 6,000 plus behind the net vs our 2,000 gives them more chance to win (if you believe atmosphere makes a difference). As well as being slightly unfair (not that I'd blame Burnley for doing it, if I was their fan I'd be fuming if I got moved).

Plus, would be nice if more Rovers fans got to see us win!

Plus also most of our players won't have played in this fixture before.

Think the cat has been let out of the bag in terms of the 'bubble' too. If they're saying that the KO time is moved to allow fans to attend remembrance services as well as the game, then presumably this means fans are making their own way to the ground.

Good news at least. Although, as a train goer no doubt there will be a heavy escort between the station/ground, and imagine any pubs are off limits (unless they let us in the Cricket club?). Remember making my own way there for the Youth Cup game and it was like a warzone after the game, thankfully came out unscathed but there was idiocy everywhere!

That was just a rerun of the old Lancs Cup pre season games over there which were always fun.

I've just dusted off and brought up to date from a few years ago a very rough estimate of both clubs' catchment areas. These are the places that locals could naturally gravitate to each club, not that they do.

The LCC population estimate for 2021 has Burnley at 94,000 and Pendle at 96,000. I've then added a third of Hyndburn*, 28,000 and one third of Ribble Valley* 20,000. Total 238,000 before Rossendale.

Blackburn has 150,000, plus one third of Hyndburn 28,000 and one third of Ribble Valley 20,000. Then another third of Chorley* 34,000 and a quarter of South Ribble* 28,000. Total 260,000 before Rossendale.

I haven't included Rossendale's 71,000 as I don't know the area well enough to have a proper opinion, but my gut feeling, backed up by posts above, is there would naturally be more Burnley than Blackburn fans. My guess is therefore that the catchments are pretty much equal.

* I split Hyndburn 3 ways - Rovers, Burnley and Stanley.

Ribble Valley 3 ways - Rovers, Burnley and PNE

Chorley 3 ways - Rovers, Burnley and Notlob.

South Ribble 75% PNE and 25% Rovers.

Personally, as someone from Accrington, I wouldn't even give a third of Hyndburn to Accrington. Although the crowds have improved, most people see Stanley as a 2nd team. Look at the friendly we had with them this pre-season. It was practically a home match. I bet a lot of Rovers fans there lived in Accy. From my experience, the main clubs supported are Rovers, Burnley, Man United, Liverpool and there's even been some more Citeh fan around lately. Unfortunately for them, they are most people's 2nd club in Hyndburn.

The cricket club usually welcomes away fans and - Newcastle aside - there has been pretty much zero trouble. However this game is different. Every idiot, each and every last one, be they Claret and Blue or Blue and White, will be looking for trouble, especially after full time. The result won’t really matter. It’s a shame but also a sad reality.

I imagine train users will be escorted straight to the ground. Bubble or not I can see you guys being held back at full time as well. Expect similar in the return fixture. As rubbish as it is we all know there are a collection of spanners that will seek trouble.

Burnley are almost as bad at conceding late goals as we are at scoring them!

Lost 8 points so far from it - Blackpool, WBA, Cardiff and now today. Don’t know if it’s mental, stamina or what but it is a problem and something the manager needs to address. Teams know if they can stay in the game they will get a goal late on. It is already costing us and will likely cost us a too 6 finish if we can’t sort it.

On the other side of that, we haven't scored a 90th min or later equaliser or winner for over a season. I mean I can't even remember the last time we did..!

Last time we scored a 90th minute goal that meant something was an equaliser against Cardiff in April 2021. Prior to that it was a winner against Rotherham in December 2020.

Last time we scored a 90th minute goal that meant something in front of fans was an equaliser against Swansea in Feb 2020, while the last time we scored a winner in injury time with fans in the ground was against Sheffield Wedneday in November 2019.

We're pathetic when chasing a goal going in to the dying stages of games.

Good passing but still slow to move the ball around to create space for attacks. Stoke stayed solid and we struggled for answers. Hit us with a few counter attacks and one went in.

We’ve only lost once to your 6 yet you are a single point behind us. We are missing what we hoped Twine would be for us.

Overall though I can’t be too unhappy, so many new players, complete change in playing style - and we are still top 6.

What’s the latest on Twine ? Rumours are he’s having “ problems “.

I'm surprised how well Kompany has got his signings working and got his style of play over to fair play to him.

Does Twine fit into your line up, is he still injured?

Kompany has done well - and the World Cup is a real opportunity to do some more work - probably true for you with JDT largely changing your style as well?  Whether we can push on in the second half of the season will be interesting. So far Norwich and Shef Utd don’t seem to fancy blinking though.

Twine would fit in the system well - but maybe not with Brownhill as well. As for his ‘injury’ - it’s all very murky. Is he injured or are there other things going on? I suspect there is a story here we aren’t being told.

Yes, Rovers have mentioned that 5-week break being crucial for JDT to get working with the players daily and will go to Spain for 5 to 7 days training camp during that time.

What are the other things going on cos I haven't any rumours on it?

I've seen a few on twitter complaining about the decision to allow independent travel on the basis there is 'bound' to be trouble.

End of the day I'm a big boy and a free citizen. I can make my own decisions in life and don't need babysitting. If I want to go under my own steam I will. Anyone who doesn't feel safe or comfortable has a choice. Go on the subsidised buses the club are providing or don't go. Fed up with this nanny state attitude that everyone should be subjected to rules and restrictions because of a minority who might get into trouble.

If you are daft enough to turn up in the middle of Burnley wearing Rovers colours shouting and bawling you'll find trouble and that will have to be dealt with by the authorities.

I'll be doing what I always do - parking up, going for a beer somewhere if possible and minding my own business. I might even almost enjoy the day if I'm able to do these things that make away days worthwhile.

I'd also love to know how many of the 2275 tickets actually find their way into the hands of season ticket holders with 1875 membership. Of course they will give some to players families but that should be it. No hangers on or exceptions. All us 1875 members have paid on the understanding that WE have priority not other groups.
