They've spent £40m, what else did you think was going to happen?

The EFL / PL need to sort out this parachute payment situation because it's made the Championship a joke competition.

Haven’t touched any parachute payments - they aren’t paid until the end of season. We’ve spent around 35 million and raised around 70 million in sales. So far we have a negative net spend.

They’ll get about 6000 with the usual extreme front and side segregation if it’s on its original date.

If it’s midweek then, due to it no longer being a bubble, I reckon the police would reduce that allocation.

I'm a Darwen based Claret.

Yesterday I was shown a copy of a letter from a horse fiddling supporters group who have written to the club demanding they only give us the minimum allocation for the Ewood game.

They really are thick aren't they?

It’s the same from your side - if half the people are to be believed there were only Rovers fans at the turf. I’m sure the odd Burnley based Rover gets a ticket in the home ends and vice versa but very very few. As for the allocation - within the requirements of the league (is it still 10% of the capacity unless you can demonstrate exceptional circumstances/segregation issues etc?) then it really is up to yourselves and we have to get on with it.

This lot battering everyone every week is very very boring.

Taking away the fact of who they are, they are a joy to watch and everything I wish we were. It's not jealousy because we had all that in droves at one time with some great memories to go with it. Rather it's just a blueprint for everything we probably imagine Rovers to be on the pitch.

Tomasson talks about intensity and passion, while the Burnley players carry both out. They fight tooth and nail for the second ball. Their players look like they know what their roles are and how to carry it out. They get under the skin of the opposition when they need to.

Tomasson hasn't instilled any of that into our players. Hopefully I can add "yet" to the end of that sentence, but this is a long time to wait for players to look motivated under him.

No manager has managed to install any sense of pride in the shirt since the Chicken Chokers rocked up and no manager will, I don’t care who you care to name. They are slowly strangling the life out of our club. With each fuck up another 50 or 100 lose heart after 12 years of shite. Last weeks fiasco has probably seen a few more throw in the towel. If JDT goes as a result of it, another 100 or 200 walk away. We appoint another muppet like Coyle in his place and 300 or 400 say enough is enough. . We are set up to fail. A fish rots from the head.

Remember what happened in class when the teacher left the room !

Swag will bus in as many as he humanly can. He'd give them the Blackburn End upper if he could.

In better news I've been told Lancs Police won't allow them to win the league or the following game at Ewood. It'll move again if thats the way its going to land.

£40m squad vs our bunch. Amazed you think it’s a motivation issue.

Too many variables at play for that to happen surely?

What if a couple of unexpected results happen on say the weekend and we're due to play them 3 days later on a Tuesday night? They won't move the game again at that short notice surely.

I’m amazed you think it’s not. How much more had we spent than Rotherham and they ran all over us. They wanted it, we felt sorry for ourselves.  It’s a simple as that. They started at a 100 miles an hour, we started like it was a pre season kick about. If I’d a pound for every game I’ve seen us out enthused by teams on their uppers in the last 12 years I’d be rich by now.

Who mentioned Rotherham? We’re comparing them to Burnley.

But if you want to compare them to Rotherham, then yes I believe we have a mid/lower table squad. We’re relegation fodder next season.

But keep believing this team just needs motivation. for example the last time I saw Sam Gallagher motivated was when someone stepped on his toe. Perhaps JDT should smack him as he runs out and he’ll be world class. It’s the only thing stopping him 🙄

What I’m pointing out is that having spent more money on players isn’t the be all and end all. What’s beating under the badge counts for a lot. Everton beat Arsenal on Saturday because somebody managed to instil some motivation, desire and self belief into a team that a week ago was on the ropes.

That's not going to happen with the squad we have, in 6-7 months. There's been a loser mentality at the club for over a decade. Even when I've seen the team go at the other team, they've soon let their heads drop at the sight of one of our forwards missing a sitter, or someone attempting and failing a dangerous pass. The one thing our players are good at is motivating the other team. They can play with as much tenacity as they like but if Vale and Gallagher are up front, and the likes of Pickering and Morton are going to gift the opposition chances, we've no chance.

I’m really really not looking forward to this game. First time I’ve said that in my life

I am certain your guys will display more fight, at home. They will feel they have some wrongs to put right.

It’s a fair comment but when we were embarrassed by your team we were simply out classed in every area. We fought though. Your team was simply too good - and far more expensively assembled than ours. But fight, you don’t have to be Maradona to have fight. It was the main thing that surprised me about the home game, total lack of blood, sweat and tears. A mate (Liverpool fan) messaged me at half time because he was watching and my comment to him was ‘they haven’t laid a glove on us’. If you have to lose at least go down swinging. I think the return fixture will be a chance for your squad to have a right go at us and try to put a few things right - and if they can’t win them at least let us know we were in a derby.
