Why would anyone buy that though?

Individually you can buy the last 5 games for £105, and you can choose not to go to the daft ones on Saturday nights at 745,

It's a good point. I didn't know at the time they would discount each individual ticket though to basically render the initial offer null and void. And I thought initially it went on sale before Sky got their grubby mitts on it.

When I mentioned decent crowd, I wasn't referring to a sell out or anything close. I'd even count 15-16,000 home fans as decent enough - there's no reason we shouldn't get similar to 2015, especially given our league position relative to then. Even the 5 for £99 offer I felt should have inflated numbers a touch.

I still think it should have been £20-25, but I remember paying £35 to go to Turf Moor nearly 10 years ago, so £30 isn't totally out of the ordinary. I think even the FA Cup game in 2005 was £25, which was 18 years ago now. It might even have been £30.

It was only a few weeks ago we had 6,000 (and could have sold 8,000) for Sheffield United away at similar prices - it seems there is a malaise around the derby, which can't have been helped by our performance vs them earlier this season, in addition to the saturation of games recently.

It’s supply and demand, they can charge £30+ because they’ve around 14k ST holders and so only c4.5k home seats left for their walk ons.

We have 9.3k ST holders, and with only 2k of away fans, theoretically nearly 20,000 empty seats, so £30-£35 is a ridiculous price for a Sky midweek game.

I do agree it should have been lower, but still thought we'd shift 16,000 home tickets. Then again, the marketing for it has been non-existent. As a comparison, I saw 'South Wales derby' billboards everywhere around Cardiff before their recent game vs Swansea. I know we had other games in the meantime, but it's certainly slipped under the radar. Cardiff marketed it well, priced a bit better (about £25 I think) and subsequently got a gate of 28k. For comparison, their gate the weekend before was 22k - that was a game against Bristol City too with the same away following, so shows what a bit of hype can do.

They did the exact same this time last year with the final 5 ticket so I, and I presume many others could definitely see it coming.

We see a lot of this coming, unfortunately those running the place never seem to…

I couldn't even remember last season's offer. I think by then I was totally downtrodden and demoralised!

Bloody hell, they are even claiming they are in the home ends of Ewood TONIGHT. You’d think with the amount of bullshit they spout they’d be better at it. Too thick to even lie well.

It has been quite clear from the lack of advertising and general secrecy around this fixture that the Club do not want many extra people turning up.

It is bizarre to say the least, another one to remember when they come pleading poverty, FFP rules and wonder why attendances are low yet seem unwilling to look in the mirror and reflect on their own insane policies which cause such things.

A club that wanted a full home end would not have charged £30 for a midweek Sky game. It would have at the very least provided for 3 weeks of sales as is the norm for games rather than limiting it to 2, would have had them on sale ahead of the Norwich bumper gate and promoted that fact. Instead they have refused, kept information to a minimum and hidden the game down the 'other fixtures' section on the website below U21 and ladies matches.

I'd be willing to wager there will be little to no coverage of the game before, during or after the match tonight, except maybe an announcement after the full time whistle that it is our next game at Ewood.

That's the way they want to play it then that's their decision, but I just hope some people remember it when whinging about low gates etc.

We aren’t ‘most clubs’. Most clubs don’t have 17/18k empty seats every week. £30 to £35 was only a ‘good’ idea when there was a full DEnd of away support to fleece.

With only 2k of them, what are they expecting to see for a midweek Sky game at those prices? As a standard we only ever usually get 4/5k walk ons for Dingle league games (and they are usually at weekends too) so of course with only c9.5k ST holders these days, this was always going to be the outcome.

As an example in 2015/16 (our last league game with them at Ewood) there was 19,900 on with 4.5k away fans (so 15,400 home)

It should have been £20 and a big push to fill as many of the 23,000 non DE seats as possible, but no, let’s still make it £30-£35 (even though there’s now no big away support to milk) and just expect them to sell themselves as it’s a derby.

It’s turning out exactly how a few of us said when they went on sale. Alas, this is what happens when the powers that be fundamentally don’t understand their own fanbase.

They don't understand basic economics.

I'm really not liking that it's almost a certainty they will celebrate being champions at Ewood one way or another. Either they wrap it up before they get here, and we are their party, or they wrap it up at Ewood which would be even worse. It's possible but unlikely that they botch both games, given they're the best side in the league.

A guard of honour would be utterly unacceptable. And, I feel, dangerous, as it would aggravate a lot of our fans in what's already a bit of a tense situation at times. I can see it kicking off big time after the match, which hasn't really happened in recent times despite the constant security concerns. There has been the odd fracas but nothing to embarrass us on a national level. I worry that Burnley fans will invade the pitch, too, if champions before or after the game. Man City did it, why wouldn't these troglodytes? This would piss us off further, and I'd expect, like City, they will have some fans in our stands (a lot less Rovers fans will be willing to sell their tickets on than they were with City, but there'll be some, and also those who find a way around the system). I think a pitch invasion by this lot would result in Rovers fans going to meet them too.

Obviously an ideal scenario is my fears are unfounded, and also that we end up denying them confirmation of the title in a game that means so much to us all. But I can definitely see this all going a bit Pete Tong.

No need to worry about any of that. That club have done everything they can to ensure there are as few fans there as possible.

What on earth makes you think like this? That is the action of a cretinous piece of scum without an ounce of brain matter.

You seem to be very upset by the presence of our six fingered neighbours.

I can understand why they would be so desperate to get to the Rovers game. It is literally the only thing they live for.

Well, that and incest of course.

Any Carrots in the home end might get away with causing a stink in sections of the Riverside or JW upper, but it won't last long. It plays right into our hands if they invade the pitch, kick off outside etc, justifies the decision to keep the ticket allocation down, regardless of the what the police say.

No one mentions one of the main reasons for the low allocation: they'll smash the facilities up and with the Luton game coming up there'll be no time to repair them. So keep one half of the Darwen Dingle free and we can still cater for the away fans on Monday night. Thick cnuts are their own problem.

Heard a few mutterings of "it was handball" last night walking out the ground, so tried to look for some video footage on twitter - but couldn't find anything due to the cesspit of a platform being clogged full of Dingles revelling in their Wednesday night entertainment, they're obsessed, I'd thought their successful season would be enough to keep them occupied?

One thing that made me laugh though: lots of comments from Cov fans slagging off our ground (least we've got one), usual Burnley fans wading in - one Burnley fan described t'Turd as a "cauldron" 😂😂😂

Delusions of grandeur that lot, too much success can go to your head.
