Celtics ressies them

How? The team that started (who we scored against after 22 seconds) is the team that will start their Scottish league campaign. We finished the game with the likes of Harry Leonard on the pitch, so I don't see how the ressies thing makes much sense! Both teams got weaker as the game went on, on paper anyway.

Your the only one.

Celtics ressies them....played us off park.

Worrying times

Far from it.

Scored two. BBD ruled incorrectly offside and Gallagher showing great skill before the keeper making a smart save with his legs, off the top of my head. Celtic look a very good side, but their second goal was very lucky.

Better to keep him than take £10 million. As we will lose £2m plus from that anyway to Forest.

£15m minimum I say..

I think the agent oooops I mean Nixon has lowballed to attract others to the table to bid with the already immense interest from Europe ...... as if they read the Sun rag ....

You are right though, £10 million with Forests share leaves not much after his costs.

Just factor out BBD I don't even know why he is playing in these games.

JDT looks a lucky chap, his football career far outweighed his ability.  Hopefully he can  transfer that into Management.

Not in the same level of role though I don't think. Just says 'a senior scouting role'.

Must be the most cushty job in world football that. I could be a scout in that league!

I really struggle to understand how you purport to be a coach with a ridiculous statement like that. AC Milan players and Champions League winners have to be pretty decent don't you think?

Plus 112 appearances for his country with 52 goals, not bad at all, an international GPG record which compares well with the likes of Shearer and Rooney.

Just for a little 'end product' study, had a look at Bowler's stats last season. He scored 7 goals and had 3 assists in 42 league games. A solid return from the wing for sure. However, Sam Gallagher, played primarily from the 'wing', scored 9 goals and had 3 assists in 37 games (just under 300 less minutes if we do it that way).

Just saying. I know lots of other things come into play (like how we were better than them most of last season, that they might play their 'wingers' in a different way to us, Gally playing up front sometimes, etc) and that the game isn't entirely about goals and assists, so nobody needs to try tell me any of that. In a (hopefully) better team he may be able to improve on those pretty solid numbers. I just wonder a bit from how Blackpool fans talk about him (living there I can confirm they really really rate the lad, but also that they're a bit delusional) versus the stats, whether he is more one of those flashy entertaining players than one who puts getting the job done first. Mind, Rothwell was a bit like that and I'd have him back.

Only 23, room to improve too. It would be seen as a bit of a coup, and Blackpool fans would be spitting feathers. On another note, I think he moved there on a free from Everton. The sort of moves we should always be looking to make. Lots of quality slips through Prem nets.

I have read, probably on here, that they are due something. I cannot confirm what though.

LT have mentioned it a few times. They say he has a sell-on, but that it's significantly smaller than the Armstrong one. Don't think they've ever stated a percentage.

Haha, let's be fair though, he did find Van Dijk, so they clearly shop around. They shop on the continent more than we do anyway. And they don't just sign players to smash poor SPL sides, they try to compete in European comps.

If we didn't own BBD and we were offered to loan him for one season at a cost of £8 million, would you do that? Because in essence that's what you're proposing. I agree we should be able to land 15 mill for him though.

We should push for at least 15 million.

Correct me if I’m wrong but you expected us to get 6-7 million for Armstrong and we got 20 million inc add ons.

id rather keep him then sell Ben on the cheap.

I doubt we'll reach the 20 mill if i'm being honest.

It’s a bit selfish of Broughton to let JDT answer all the questions regarding transfers, knowing it’s not JDT’s responsibility to recruit. The fans want to know why we haven’t signed anyone yet.

It was JDT who was asked though.

I'm sure Sharpe is waiting GB's return calls on the matter, should be an interview by Sept.....2023.

From what I saw he wasn't that good, Wharton has always looked a very good player. In fairness he was playing against some good players and was better than Pickering, but HP was the worst player on the pitch.

We definitely need two fullbacks.

We are a club now who develops players, our own and cheap signings so it's all part and parcel now i'm afraid.

The idea is they improve a bit year on year so it remains to be seen with Pickering but we will be seeing.  There'll only be back ups brought in if any at all, similar with Carter he'll get his chance now.  Looks like the right back, rwb will be between him and JRC these are the pathways Broughon and JDT were on about.
