We are a club now who develops players, our own and cheap signings so it's all part and parcel now i'm afraid.

The idea is they improve a bit year on year so it remains to be seen with Pickering but we will be seeing.  There'll only be back ups brought in if any at all, similar with Carter he'll get his chance now.  Looks like the right back, rwb will be between him and JRC these are the pathways Broughon and JDT were on about.

Dear god. If that's the case, we may as well give up now.

We’re talking to two different horses here - now he’s left, I’ve been amongst a conversation where Darragh said “I’ve not asked for anything stupid. If they make me one of the top earners I’ll sign. When Dani (Ayala) is on more than any other defender, I expect to be on the same as him. They’ve not offered me his money.”

*that’s roughly what I heard him say and the jist of the conversation

As w always suspected....

I don't think it is, personally. I'll be very surprised if we don't bring in a RB, a CB and a CM who are all expected to start as long as they prove up to it. I don't see any reason we wouldn't. I'm not saying they'll be perm deals, and 3 certainly isn't enough, but I can't see a universe in which those won't be the 3 main priorities for JDT and GB. Ok well they might plump for a winger instead of a CM if they only brought in 3, depending how impressed they are with Wharton and Garrett, but only a madman would think we don't need a CB and RB. Links suggest we are after midfielders too.

How? The team that started (who we scored against after 22 seconds) is the team that will start their Scottish league campaign. We finished the game with the likes of Harry Leonard on the pitch, so I don't see how the ressies thing makes much sense! Both teams got weaker as the game went on, on paper anyway.

I thought we did okay to be fair, gave way to many chances away but that just shows we need recruitment at the back. What are your thoughts on Pickering Joe? For me he’s lacking pace and looks likely to be exposed at every opportunity. Would you bring a left back in?

After Nixons article in the sun saying Sevilla want Diaz but they’re only willing to pay half our asking price, he’s now posted on his own social media saying that Sevilla have made a bid… Is this the beginning of the end of Diaz’ time here or is it just waffle from the Big Nicko.

I don't have a problem with the likes of Wharton/Garrett. Being utilised around the first team. They are untried and deserve a season.

Keeping players (who are been consistently poor in a position) such as JRC and Pickering is just self defeating though.  Hopefully you are right.  Given there have been no links to any full backs/wing backs - it is a little concerning.

Him leaving on a free in less than 12 months is more mental

Anywhere else it would be. Venkys arent bothered though.

Id rather keep his quality for a year and let him go for nothing rather than selling him for £15m and not replacing him.

A lot of rumours flying around on twitter saying Davies is on his way to Rangers…lol

Would be a big shame to miss out on Davies but we can't compete with rangers and the wages they would offer, plus European football

If we can’t afford the calibre of player we’re looking at why are we looking at that calibre of player?

What do you suggest we do? Lower our standards now with 7 weeks left in the transfer window just so we all feel better with ‘bodies in the building’

Crazy advocating a lowering of standards in terms of targets.
