Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

Well I'm not worry as I know we will make the signings we needed during the transfer window and I am not panic about like many others including yourself.

Yes the academy players like Jack Vale, Jake Garrett and Ash Phillips can fill in the squad roles that players and push on to become regular in the starting 11.

We don't know how much interested we had in Ben Davies and others we get linked.

I don't think JDT is peed off already but he is head coach and his focus isn't on recruitment but coaching the team and making the team better and tactics. Its Gregg Broughton job to bring in signings. Time the media and fans understood this

I’m not panicking, I’m observing. You don’t know we will make the signings we need. You think we will, there’s a difference.

Hopefully the three young players you have mentioned will fill squad roles, but the word “squad” says it all. We can’t possibly expect these young players to suddenly be key first team players.

Phillips hasn’t even signed a contract yet, and may be another that we end up losing.

We we’re clearly interested in Davies. That’s obvious from JDT’s response when asked about him.

It’s not a case of  fans and the media not understanding that Broughton is responsible for actioning transfers. It’s a case of a total lack of incomings and Broughton, for whatever reason, becoming completely silent.

Anyway, don’t drink the Kool Aid if Waggott offers you any. Stick to water.

Gregg Broughton shouldn't need to give an update or interview at this stage of the transfer window/stage of the window. His focus should be signings players, appointing staff to the recruitment and medical teams at the club.

No my comments was right and not patronising in any way, but people need to understand how the Director of football/head coach structure and actually give it time to work and develop here. People shouldn't be looking for weekly transfer update from Gregg Broughton. Just let them get on with the job and judge after the transfer window ends.

Exactly. Gregg Broughton appointed Jon Dahl Tomasson. So far I think its been a good appointment. Just need some quality signings now.

Well didn't Waggott update us on Nyambe?

Im not personally bothered about what he says, its about what he does. I think had we successfully got some players in then no one would want communication, it is in the absence of actions that words are demanded.

I think people are fully aware of how the structure works. Many including myself seem to worry that adding an extra layer at a club that already takes ages to make decisions could potentially make that problem even worse. You seem to be naive in not accepting that the structure (like any) has risks and the potential to not run smoothly. It can slow decisions down and it adds an extra risk of conflict which you wont acknowledge because Tomasson was "promised" that he would get the final say but I am sure at some point there will be differences in opinions.

It is odd that Nyambe hasn't signed on for anyone yet.Missing pre season for whichever club he chooses to join puts him behind in claiming a place in the starting 11.

Perhaps it is true that his agent is looking for a deal beyond Nyambe's ability

No shit!

And perhaps with the attitude he/they've shown I wouldn't want the idiot back even if he came crawling.

A rumour. An actual rumour:

Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers interested in signing Brighton midfielder Taylor Richards. #QPR #Rovers #BHAFC

they can have him as long as we beat them in the home fixture a week on Saturday

I'd like to know what the actual shortlist criteria is for players we're looking at. From those linked, it's a mix of potential to sell on but experience too. We simply aren't going to get deals for those types over the line as clubs with money will swoop in and pinch them once they know the finances involved.

It's fantasy land at the moment, we were never, ever, ever, going to sign Davies. Nor the Bosnian chap.

Agreed, so we need to be really crafty and that’s very difficult post Brexit.

As per usual under these owners, it’s all been way too slow since they knew they were ditching Mowbray.

We eventually got a DOF who’s wet behind the ears, a Head Coach new to working in this country and still no confirmation of a new head of recruitment.

The season starts on 30th of this month.

Shambles.

Think his agent has sold Nyambe down the river here, promising him a top move. No way do Wigan pay any more than us. Now he can’t for shame come crawling back to us, so he’s stuck with the mighty Wigan

Think some of us are in for a surprise on that front. This new 'wage structure' that they wax lyrical about looks like it puts us in League One on wages paid. This is why Nyambe and Lenihan went and many more will follow.

We are probably now struggling to even compete with Rotherham, Wigan or Blackpool on wages.

Venkys out, Waggott out ASAP

Or the people at the club don't believe Nyambe is worth what he wants.Pretty sure we have a higher wage bill than Wigan and we pay our highest earners mor than they do

If that is true then surely him accepting a contract at a team with a supposedly low wage budget shows that his demands would have by virtue fallen within our current wage ceiling.

We wanted him to stay, he has chosen to join Wigan. I think he is a little overrated by some but he is a big loss nonetheless and I would find it concerning if he went to Wigan with us still unable to bring anyone in. I am dubious about an admittedly subjective "healthy budget" and suspect us to again rely on the loan market.

I guess that's three more years, at least, that they have bought themselves with this so called youth project.

Three more years where there is no pressure, no expectation, no promotion ambitions. More of the same ambling along on 'easy street' while fans who demand more are the bad guys for not "getting behind the youngsters".

The club, or should I say the people in senior roles, are embarrassing us more and more as each day passes. A shambles is what the whole thing is.

I mean, it's not that he's choosing Wigan over us because they're a better prospect. If he goes there it's because they've offered him more. That's not even saying they CAN offer him more than us, it's just that our club obviously value him a lot less than his agent/Wigan does.

Will laugh my head off if he goes there. Agent has had a shocker!

Il wait and see who we actually bring in first before I criticize the decision not to give him what he wanted.I do rate him and wanted him to stay but there are players that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg that could replace him

We have the same wage budget as last season and lost 50k roughly from the bill last season.I don't think we have a mega budget but IF we even entered discussions for Davies or Anel then must be something in the pot

Presumably you will only laugh if we sign a better, permanent replacement?
