Yes and according to some fan theories, if we wait until the last week of the transfer window that £1.25m becomes 400k and doable. Remain calm, quality is coming but for cut-price deals thanks to our extreme patience in the market, apparently...  😂

That's what I'm saying, doesn't seem an unreasonable fee for a capable player that we need in a position that we're light in. Yet Blackpool are stepping in front whilst we try and sign some kid who's probably not good enough from Liverpool. Not a good look and it doesn't fill me with confidence for the rest of the window.

Or we just never bid for Brannigan.

As far as I can see nobody has claimed players become cheaper as we get closer to the window?Or maybe you can show me these posts?Since plenty are saying it

What's been said Is MAYBE our targets wont be allowed out until their clubs get replacements in or we feel the later the window goes on quality players MIGHT become available

and it's a lot of guessing, if what's being suggested is in fact the transfer policy it's a poor one in my opinion, high risk and potentially gets nothing done....... it can also totally backfire in that you have to OVERSPEND come the end of the window or scurry around for loans, which I think is more likely.

I'm not saying we were in for Brannagan, just playing devil's advocate that if we were in for him, that deal wouldn't have got any closer by waiting. I hope he wasn't a target because if he was it's another missed out on.

I prefer a transfer policy of identify an achievable target and get it done in time to benefit the team for when the season begins or move on.

Yeah it is guessing. But it's also guessing that we are doing nothing.

The one signing we have done is decent. We knew nothing about it until 24 hrs before the deal was done and the players himself admitted the deal was a couple of weeks in the making.Similarly with the guy from Peterborough 3 bids in we knew nothing about till Barry Fry opened his mouth. I want players in as much as the next person but hard for me to be too critical when I have no idea how far down the line we are with deals

Thought it was common knowledge that the price dynamics changes as you close in on deadline day.

Esp. for players with 1 year left of contract and not resigning. Some clubs will lower asking price to get rid. Ryan Manning from QPR  to Swanse a good example of that last year.

Venky's probably one of the few that won't budge on price.

Similar the price will increase for players clubs doesn't want to get rid the window.

You'll also see players get available on loan late in the window. Both players that club wasn't able to sell or youngsters being considered for the first team in pre-season.

Yup and it will be the same again.

Didnt Van Hecke and Khadra both sign either on the deadline or imminently before.

Van Hecke didn’t even play until mid October. Although granted we also had Leninhan as an option then.

Burnley got a Helle new team... they Will need some time to settle

They're all in on Kompany.

Most relegated teams keep the core of their squad and bounce back. Burnley have sold anything not nailed down and reinvested it on cheaper alternatives.

Well this is all very predictable, not a pot to piss in, waiting for handouts from Premiership club and billionaire owners.

You can keep changing the manager and his direct reports, but we need a change in ownership or this continues season after season after season.........

Venkys Out!

They’re drip feeding us, just keeping us alive, not blinking an eye at pissing £20 million away every season, when a little investment could see their ‘baby’ thrive. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better if they just pulled the plug, this stagnation is frustrating.

My hopes were raised with the new manager, the talk of money available. I’m hoping to be proven wrong, but it just seems like we keep getting fed bullshit and it’s all talk. This is the perfect time for them to show they actually do want us to progress.
