I do yeah,

I'd be delighted with 4 more. The priority for me is a striker at the moment, we look so toothless at that end of the field. If/when Brereton goes we probably need another at that end of the field too.

Interesting. That will mean the manager has gone from wanting 3 more players as of a few days ago, to essentially wanting 5 more. Perhaps the third consecutive league defeat was what made him decide 3 just wasn't enough.

Tax losses are not transferable between different jurisdictions ie UK and India in this case.

But the club or Venkys London sits in a corner of the profitable VH Group who have to feed it millions and millions therefore in India it reduces the companies profits.

If we're doing the medical then we're doing it for somebody else because there's no way Ross Barkley is signing for Rovers 🤣

I wouldn't rule that out either the results can be transferred north of the border quicker than the player can get there.

LOL. Back on the fucking journey.

3 more windows over 2 seasons to build his squad is a short trip compared to Mowbrays 5 year journey which only succeeded in a monumental final season collapse and squad destruction and leaving us where he found us.

Mind you I am myself now triggered by the words journey and project, to a lesser extent.

I agree it’s going to take a few windows to get the squad he wants playing the way he wants but for the record I definitely do count this as one of the windows

Absolutely. You can't sign 3 players all for upwards of a million each, at a club with our resources, and not count it as a window. And that's just so far, with another 3 (or 4 according to Glen) to come still.

Do you have an idea of the names of those 4?

Tbh, like lots on here heard quite a few names, but given how close Rovers are keeping cards close to their chest bar what i've posted previously be daft to speculate further.

If I was guessing, and im not negotiating the deals, i'd go Hirst, Styles plus another 1 perm, 1 loan.

If BBD goes

As above but it be the two mentioned  plus two perm with Bowler and a striker from abroad.

This is purely based on murmurings and nothing more.

Good honest response from JDT which I can buy into.

Puts to bed any nonsense about JDT wanting promotion this year. Finally. I’ll be using this every time someone says it.

You would be amazed just how the big clubs use video scouting.  It enables them to watch hundreds of matches helping to sort the wheat from the chaffe and saving hugely on resource and travel expense.  However, 'live' scouting, as you would expect, is still a a big and vital part of it.  Arsenal are one of the clubs at the forefront of this approach and a friend's son is a key player in their recruitment team.

Absolutely correct. I know a guy who works as a video scout for Villa (having previously been with 'that' lot - I won't hold it against him as his allegiance is with Liverpool)

He literally spends all day watching football videos with the occasional trip out if there's a game of interest locally (ie Ewood, PNE, etc). It's amazing talking to him, how much he knows about players I haven't even heard of. He'll then recommend the ones to watch etc, including academy lads, and he's part of a team of about half a dozen.

I got talking to him about Ash Philips a couple of months ago & he said they'd been watching him for over 12 months and they certainly weren't the only ones.

I think he is just managing supporter expectations, give safe number which you dont get shot for later. So he is 3 would of been on side of caution imo

True, although the safer and more accurate thing to say at this stage in that case would be 'definitely expect 2, hopefully up to 4'.

American corporations do it with sports teams all the time and thats what makes me feel very strongly that there is a way they are doing it. They are not here because they have a passion for Blackburn or advertising (because that would be available cheaper.) There has to be a finacial benefit, no company does anything to lose money on purpose unless its for tax reasons.

I was also not being rude to the tax specialist, I just have no idea who he is. Google is also pretty worthless because you have to plough through so much sheer lies, propaganda and sensless waffle - I'm a prime example. Purely was asking for a link to actual legitimate tax related literature.

Back to transfers.

You said he was a busted flush when he was here, thats absolute tripe, we'll probably never see another goal scorer like Rhodes here again, he was a goal machine that went to Boro for £10m.

I wouldn't want him back here, no ney never, but that doesn't take away from the fact he was a brilliant goal scorer for us.

Unfortunately his all round play always had a negative effect on team performances. That’s why, although every team needs a goalscorer, he was completely overlooked by the Scotland managers who desperately needed a striker - and every club manager afterwards. That wouldn’t have happened if he was as important to the team as his fans say. Then again, they brush that aside.

”who’ll score the goals when he leaves” his fans said. Well Rovers actually scored more goals after he left.

Rovers scored 20 goals in 21 games before he left.

26 goals in 21 games after he left

It was tongue-in-cheek really, it's just amusing he's using the same terminology as Mowbray.

I like to see myself as always hopeful when it comes to Rovers, but I'm also cynical enough after 12 long years to doubt Venky's would know a good manager if it slapped them on the arse. Tiny little red flags are being raised at the moment about JDT. I hope I'm wrong.
