Gallagher back to the bench please. Simply an abysmal footballer.

Pickering again poor, touch then pass back constantly. Giles should have went to lwb.

Truly sick and tired of this formation the 4-3-3 was a lot more fun.

What are you on about bail him out? I think he picked the wrong team tonight and lacked imagination when it wasnt working. Also there are 4 attacking players there so looks like you have the agenda.

Also Nyambe/Zeefuick get forward way point. Alot more affective than JRC.

I have an agenda?? I didnt count Dack because he is barely going to play so surely the manager didnt plan on using him.  Khadra has also been widely available. Injuries seem like a cop out to me

Why isn't our 5 million man filling the void left by Big Ben?

As soon as it was known he was out for some time Gallagher should've stepped up and shouldered that responsibility and led from the front. He should be embarrassed with his contribution in BBD's absence.

Even with those, there's only two of them who has ever scored goals out of the lot of them.

And for one reason or another we knew in advance we couldn't rely on either of them in a promotion push.

We only need one goalscorer. We had zero on the pitch tonight at any stage. My point was we had a team of plodders and midfielders in defence, midfielders up front, it was horrific.

The injuries have destroyed any balance in the team and it's classic rovers luck. Add to the fact Tony struggles with a plan B and it's a perfect shit storm.

I’ll leave this right here. The foresight of Ray Charles.

“We had opportunities, there were No.9s out there and the really interesting thing is that clubs are phoning us and asking if we want to take this player, Premier League clubs.”

“They have to fit into the way we play, why would we sign a Premier League centre forward if we don’t play with a centre forward at this moment, and he can’t do the running of a wide striker, doesn’t chase full backs, so we’d be playing with nine men rather than 10 out of possession?”

“Why when we’re doing so well at the moment would we throw that away and do something totally different?”

“We tried to recruit players to fit the system.”

I think Tony has never heard of trying a Plan B when Plan A isn't working.

I used to enjoy 4-4-2, back when football managers didn't complicate the fuck out of the game. So so long ago.

Nice to keep a clean sheet I suppose, but our lack of goals continues to be a huge concern. Absolutely baffles me that we don’t try anything different. Even playing wingers out wide and Gallagher in the middle. Revolutionary, I know.
Tony seems to love breaking it when it doesn’t need to be fixed, but not fixing it when it is clearly broken….

Unfortunately, he's more interested in wide strikers running up and down in the channels when out of possession than he is about scoring goals.

Weird that he's gone from chucking as many strikers as he can onto the pitch, to having as few as he can get away with.

I didn't blame injuries for the horror performances of late like you made out I simply mentioned how decimated we are. You have to count Dack, he's currently a rovers player who is unavailable.

When was the last time we actually posed a threat from set pieces?

Under Allardyce at a guess?

Well you need to practice them to be effective and Mowbray has admitted in the past that we don’t.

On a side note whilst Hedges looked poor fair play to him for trying to have a couple of pops. No other bugger was even contemplating it.

Our refusal to play with an ST/ CF is costing us points and has probably already cost us any hope of promotion. We've essentially tactically chosen not to score from open play in 12 hours of football. We've had a great season but the blame for those costly stats largely lies with a very stubborn manager and poor January signings. Carry on like this and there would be no point getting in the playoffs anyway.

Don't quite get the dislike of Giles, personally.

For me, he's been one of the more like to make something happen. He's clearly got quality.

Agreed, needs to play in his best position though...............................

Just put your foot through the fucking ball. We were actually superb for the majority of the game. But Jesus shit. Just shoot. Actually just shoot.

Rant made. Hedges is shite. Not even championship standard.

Buckley even for the fact he's the biggest culprit of not finishing things was actually having an excellent game

We've paid the price for no striker in January

The biggest criticism of Sam Gallagher is that the bloke doesn't exist. When the ball is in the box he reminds me of me when I was 12. Avoidant. I grew out of it. It's the number 1 reason gally won't ever make it. He'd go to Vegas and spend all his money on a travelodge. He's never gambled in his life.

I'm so pissed off. It feels like season over. We ain't gonna score. I remember old olivia atwood wishing happy birthday to her 'big willied' Dacky. None of the others have any balls. (Defence excluxed) This lot have nothing at the business end. And it's cost us. Diaz and Dack are the only ones who truly stand up. Without them we're nothing.

They've made Rothwells flash runs and premier league dreams. He's just a support act. If footballers don't graft, anticipate, put their head in where it hurts then you're not going to score goals. Sure it looks great when finesse the ball into the net. But it's not making sure the job gets done.

We're not going up. Because we can't score. I'm fed up now.

It's the hope that kills you. BTW Ryan Giles is the worst of the lot. He's technical but he's a little softy with a fuzzy haircut. (Not worse than Gallagher) Who's touch is the worst I've ever seen. Soft and shite. Anyway. Goodnight

I know but I meant neither of those goalscorers were going to be good for the run in, and it was known in advance. If you read the interview with Mowbray he didn't have his head screwed on right. He thought someone else would step up out of a squad of players that didn't have 15 goals between them.

If I had a choice between reading this match day thread, watching the game live or root canal treatment without anaesthetic I would choose the root canal treatment.

We played well with virtually no forwards. Wasted chances x4 that I can think of.

Buckley, van Hecke and Rothwell were brilliant as was Travis.

Next 2 games at home will decide our fate inho

The only player who would definitely have made a difference is Brereton.  To bring up Zeefuik Markanday for example is silly. Zeefuik has hardly set the world alight.  Markanday made a couple of appearances but there's no guarantee he would have made any impact.  Nyambe would have been an upgrade but ayala is irrelevant as Lenihan and  van hecke are doing OK and dack might not be tge player he was. So that's two players which is hardly a massive difference even though they are important players
