manager role is, it's a weird way of doing business.

Such a weird thing to impose. If Lowe and Benson were highly rated I'd get it but neither seem to be?

Genuine question; I know they're not rated by pretty much everyone on here, but I don't see any noises from inside or outside the club within the game saying they're unsuited? What makes everyone think they're so poor?

Just to be clear. I don't expect a single thing to happen this week.

The DOF came from Nixon. Walsh was just mentioned and has grown legs. Nobody knows anything about the manager. Previous dead certs have all gone elsewhere so were not dead certs.

It's a right old typical Venky Shitshow.

If it's Dunny and Shorty then I am going to give up.

Jeez… I can’t get behind Unsworth and Ferguson. I mean I will, but I’ll be expecting disaster.

What makes you so sure it spells disaster? Ferguson is pretty well thought of as is Unsworth and Walsh was arguably the most sought after DoF in English football when he left Leicester? Sounds like an interesting mix if it were to materialise 🤷🏽‍♂️

There’s tons of ‘tried and tested’ who fail too!

Personally I’d be open for Ferguson, Carrick, Manning, Ainsworth and any of the foreign coaches - I feel we need something fresh and new. Want us to stay away from yesterdays men like Adkin’s, Pardew

I think it spells disaster because Ferguson has 5 games experience as a football manager, none of which in the Championship which is a very unique league and none with players of a championship quality. Alongside zero experience in the transfer market and we are a club need a full rebuild.

Rich Sharpe bizarrely mentioned Woodgate at the very start of all this, and gave a good portion of his column up talking about him.

Ever since then I've been convinced it will be him, and the rest of it is just window dressing. Probably as others have said, they are waiting until June 30th so they don't have to pay two salaries at the same time.

I’ve no opinion either way on their abilities, I’m not close enough to the sessions.

However, in the grand scheme of things they are minor employees in the club hierarchy, presumably with salaries to match said minor status, so it would be a very strange state of affairs to insist any incoming manager keeps them on, why hobble a potentially transformative appointment for a couple of lower ranked coaches… well, I suppose it would only be strange at a normal club.

So its the start of a new week and hopefully we see the key appointments of Sporting Director and Head Coach fill and hopefully by Wednesday. Then this will allow them to bring in some new coaching staff members who the head coach wants and bring in fitness coaches and head of medicine services.

So according to the LT and Lancs Live we are holding second interviews with 3 candidates. We don't know who these are and it appears that very little is leaking who these people are. (Nixon said this wrong and Waggott/Pasha need to pick their number 1 candidate and recommend him to Venkys who then interview him and rubber stamp it)

On the Sporting Director role is set to be confirmed with a appointment to be announce this week. Supposedly he has been head hut by an agency.

I heard today that Mowbray got everyone together on his last day and told them that whilst he would have considered signing a contract extension in January (but none was tabled) by the end of the season, he would have walked away even from a five year deal at twice the money, because the running of the club (remotely from India) is so messed up, it is almost impossible to manage the football side. Makes sense. Also told he was denied the chance to sign good players due to the crappy set up where India have to approve everything more than £50 petty cash. That's what led to the loss of belief and form that heralded his exit.

Wenkys and Vaggots out!

If that's true, the Mowbray excuses wagon was trundling along right up until the last day. That man is incapable of accepting fault in himself.

Also shows how much of a bitter prick he is, that he would further erode player belief in the club when we still had 3 out of contract players we wanted to sign on. On top of which, I don't believe him. He would have snapped up a 5 year double your money deal quicker than you can blink, even if they offered him it today.

That said, yes the club is organisationally a mess.

You will probably know more about these than me. I don’t have any names I just think the search may have to be expanded, a few of our initial targets haven’t been hooked. I know I said to watch out for Ferguson and unsworth but is it 1/3 close- I don’t believe so

Munoz and Lamouchi both have Championship experience but very left suggestions.

Rovers want somebody with Championship experience. That rules out Ferguson and, unless seven days as caretaker manager counts, Unsworth. By all serious accounts, Rovers aren't entertaining the idea.

There are supposedly three candidates in this second round of interviews. Ainsworth might be one of those, but the club doesn't want to pay compensation, so perhaps Ainsworth is a case of putting two and two together and making five.

I still think it'll be a name that hasn't been seriously mentioned in the media.

That is what we keep being told by these journalists that Rovers wanted Championship experience.

Agreed on your last point and why I think it be Cocu or Woodgate or some foreign head coach who has had spell in Championship but his last job wasn't in England

that why we are appointing a sporting director to deal with the transfer market and all that allowing the head coach to focus on training ground and organising the team for match days.

If Duncan Ferguson was appoint with the right staff for example like Alan Irvine or Craig Short then it could be good appointment but equally it could be another Brian Kidd's appointment. I am opening minded on him cos he could be similar to Mark Hughes and bring the never say die attitude and he is winner.

Leaving appointment to the end of June is senseless and put us behind the apple cart.

And then they leave of their own accord anyway. Rendering the whole process a fiasco.

The only reason I don’t think it will be him at this stage is because he’d ruffle too many feathers. The management team are on easy street and he would be like a bull in a kitchen.

That might not be a bad thing something sure as hell needs shaking up with Venkys not that I would endorse Ferguson as manager I reckon we should go for either Nuno or Bilic

A few pages back Alan Pardew was mentioned and before any names came out, he came to my mind.

Remember years back, about 10-15yrs when Maggott and Pardew was at Charlton? So they know each well, maybe they had a good working relationship, who knows?

How very dare you. He's an honourable bloke who would walk away if he ever became a detriment to the club(!)

Regardless of which dolloper we hire, I'm delighted that cunt is out of Brockhall - just a bitter, deluded prick.
