Feels like lazy journalism to me. Broughton wasn't first choice and wasn't mentioned before being appointed so no doubt it'll be the same for the manager.. though I can't think of anyone that hasn't been mentioned, in fairness!

They’ll find somebody.

He's a better centre half than Grant Hanley was in my opinion and he's managed to ply his trade at the highest level.

Hanley must just be lucky with all his promotions...👍🙄

I think Lenihans replacement will be, Carter this season. Then eventually Phillips for the long term. I am not saying I agree with the option, but it is what I think will happen.

Not sure that's the most reliable of sources tbh. It's starting to feel like this is going to roll on into at least next week.

Very true but maybe, just maybe something is brewing 🤞

Rovers having problems with getting Ronny’s current club New York & fighting it out with Standard …

The US club are not happy with him and are refusing to sanction his release …

Standard Also took their DOF and they have refused to sign his release for the next 3 months …that’s their minimum notice order for all their staff……so he’s snookered as well…….

work Permit would also be an issue for Ronny ……. Another delay which Rovers can’t afford ……

Anything on Knutsen or is that not happening?

How much do we think the delay in appointing a manager has contributed to losing Lenihan?

It'll have been a factor that's why he was hanging on and still open to Rovers offer.  Don't let the usual spin doctors tell you any different.

I’m not keen on Deila at all. Not sure why he’s the one they are prepared to go the extra mile for.

Glad to see that Broughton's persuasive tones managed to convince Lenihan to stay, result for our new DoF. Nyambe defo next out the door so 2 from 2, good investment.

Clearly the thrill of working under Ainsworth wasn't enough but hey what ya gonna do.

As said by someone earlier we would have done better divvying the DoF wage up between the two leavers.

Will the wait for the new guy be really as Earth shaking as it should be after months of searching to get the very best (I'm including TMs notice period),. Clearly Lenihan and Nyambe know the answer to that and have left the building.

If I cheered up I'd still be depressed.

I think the Knutsen link is just lazily based on yesterday's appointment.

Pardew's the one that has me worried right now. Has applied for the job, apparently, and there are a few whispers the job is his.

How desperate is he to get back into English football, is the question. He, or whoever else, is going to be walking into a mess here with so much work to do in the window.

Genuine question, if Pardew is appointed, how would you feel?

He’s barely had 3 points in management for 5 years and is supposedly one arrogant t*sser. So no thanks.

Hugely disappointed.

Crap, arrogant and well past his best, which is why he’s been managing obscure teams abroad.

He’s horrible and I don’t think I could bring myself to go to matches with this human fart in charge.

No chance Pardew comes in as a head coach. His ego wouldn't take it.

I personally wouldn't be too disappointed with it. Falls between the levels of Farke/Carvalhal and Warne/Ainsworth.
