Great work! Hopefully end up close to 9500 sold, maybe more if we play well in the first few games. 

Still think the international flex ticket is expensive and doubt we would sell many. In principle its a good initiative though. Would be interested to know how many of those we sell.

Will take some doing to sell 1,500+ at the ‘un-loyal’ price of £430 to £530, largely to new fans as you won’t be selling many more to existing ST holders, from here. 

It will be a trickle from now on and we will finish with c8,500.

So at the end of the loyalty window to summarise the season ticket farce - sales have been very disappointing, between an estimated 5,000-8,000 lower levels than some of our equivalent sized nearest rivals, but not as bad as could have been considering the cost. In the world of swag it’s been great as he’s managed to squeeze every last penny out of an ever dwindling loyal core.

Amazing how true my old John Williams anecdote is, I.e we have 8k that will always pitch up.

JW saw that as a challenge, as a base to work with, and worked his arse off to attract and keep many more in the tent… whereas Swag can’t believe his luck, 8k just fall into his lap paying ridiculous prices, job done already.

I think what we will find this season is a lot more people paying per game…I imagine the first game will be roughly 14k (including away fans).

If we start well I can imagine us getting more per home game…of course upto the high teens with big away crowds.

We will if we are up towards the top, but you won’t have many more than the standard c3k walk ons at £25 to £35 a ticket if we are just plodding along.

Our average attendance last season was 13.478 (some sites have it at over 14000 but they include the  bogus 30000 plus crowd the club "accidently" announced) Think with the 4  derbies and Sunderland we will average more  this season but only through the  away followings being more, unless we do really well and ticket prices are  reasonable.

The way I see it is. We have about the same amount of season ticket sales as last year, but we are down 2000 season ticket holders from last year. Those 2000 will probably have been made up of people who would have bought walk-on tickets. So to get the same crowds as last year, the 2000 hole in the walk-ons will have to be filled. This could be done with the people who have not renewed this season, but I doubt all 2000 will. There is very little initiative to get new supporters down to Ewood, or even some of the lapsed ones.

This is the key point.

There is the churn of people having a ST one season (but not attending all games) then being a casual walk on the next season, and vice versa. Various personal reasons for that.

But the club didn't lift a finger to get new fans and grow the attendances. Nothing. In fact their pricing actively discourages it.

So the attendance will be 11K - 13K depending on away support. Add 1500 if we are doing well. Unlikely if we are going into bat with the U23 prospects.

That doesn't make any sense to me.

Give or take the 'churn', I suspect that the vast majority who had a season ticket last season have renewed.

About 25% (c2,000) haven’t according to Gooze. That’s a big figure to me.

I don't believe that we've lost 2,000 ST holders from last year and gained the same in new customers. That's too big a 'churn' number IMO

Alternate theory is that a good number of those missing 2k simply renewed and moved seats, hence were included in Gooze's stats all along.

I would think a fair few of the large number of half ST buyers (large numbers for us anyway) who got caught up in all the momentum around December haven’t bothered renewing.

That's the bit I doubt, I think it's too big a number.
