I don’t think any amount of backing or money could stop him from taking a job with the reigning Champions of a country where his family live and he’s hero worshipped.

The only thing that could’ve swayed it was promotion for us last season.

If Feyenoord want him, he’s going.

I wouldn't object to a manager swap and appoint Ruud for ourselves really.

Agreed, we have no chance - he's literally theirs if they want him i'd say.

Apparently Ruud left PSV due to a lack of support... in that case, the last thing he'd do is come here!

That's the point I was making. If the Club had backed him in January there's a reasonable chance we'd have got promoted and if we did we'd have the power to resist such interest.

It didn't back him so now we are in a weak position.

There will be plenty out saying the Club is blameless if he leaves. I disagree for the reasons above.

Was told 2 months ago by an ex Rovers chairman that he thought Rovers were a stepping stone to a bigger club, hope he’s wrong but I’m not convinced he’ll be here at the start of the season.

On the plus side I think we are in a better position to get someone decent in with GB involved if indeed he does go.Certainly wouldn’t be an Owen Coyle type, think we’ve moved on from those days.

He wouldn't have come here if he was going to jump ship the first sniff of other interest from abroad Champs league or not as allegedly he turned one down to come to England.

Feyenoord or the Prem ok that's different but i'd hope t would take something special to leave here rather than bolting for the sake of it.

Rovers, like any other club, should always have some idea on who the next manager will be. Managers come and go all the time and are only a bad run of results away from the sack - the Ewood hierarchy should be discussing now who comes next, even in the unlikely event that Tomasson decides to stay

Realistically, that how a young, up and coming manager will view us.

The only time that wasn’t the case was under Jack Walker.

What you have to hope is that said manager achieves tangible success, eg promotion, en-route to a bigger club.

Perhaps if we’d given JDT the tools to do the job in January we’d have kept him for a while longer.

As others have said, if he’s going we need it to be quick to give us the opportunity of an early replacement, (if Broughton and chums get their act together).

We only become a 'stepping stone' at the point it becomes clear we cannot or will not match the manager's ambitions. If the manager believes in what we are doing and is confident he can achieve his aims with us then we aren't really a stepping stone

E.g. if we'd have got promoted this season, which we could have done, nobody would be talking about stepping stones because we'd be gearing up for a place in the richest and most high profile league in the world.

But, because we messed it up and are a club with zero ambition and charlatans throughout it will be quite clear to JDT by now that he will have to treat this as a stepping stone.

The way the club is run from the top means we’ll never be able to hold on to anyone worthwhile for long. Be that players, back room staff, or managers. There’s no culture, no values, no nothing running the club.

If he does go - make it soon so we can can get in a replacement.

So the replacement will be in mid September.

That's soon for this club.

I think you are spot on with GB in charge of the footballing side of the club he has plans in case we lose x and y from coaching staff which is similar mindset to Brighton and Brentford models.

He brought in JDT within a week of his appointment and given how long the head coach search took last summer it put us behind in terms of planning, etc. Rovers should have hired GB much earlier and lets we wouldn't have been behind last summer.

If JDT does go which I seriously hope he doesn't leave cos I think he is real deal and knows how to move us on and get us back to PL, I think GB will appoint another good head coach.

Had a friend who was a Derby fan, couldn't speak highly enough of Rooney.. I wouldn't rule him out as a viable option

He might be more of a viable option for Everton if they get relegated and pot Dyche.
