A lot are thinking 'What is the point?' once again.

It's the dangerous territory of being so vocal about being a trading club. The players feel like contractors as does the manager and as fans we know that we don't have people in the hierarchy allowed or competent enough to deliver it. So it all becomes a never ending cycle of let downs.

he has enough players to make us a competitive side.

Foe a start he hasn't got a striker worthy of the name. Our squad is also short on numbers as the injuries mounted up.

Exactly as forecast on here. IfJDT didn't "moan" in these circumstances it would be very odd.

Poor business renewing the contract at same wage

Dont really agree. Going to three at the back has helped a bit but we are still committing 7-8 players to every attack and on the break other teams just walk through us. JDT seems absolutely unconcerned by it.

Maybe we will shift to playing more conservatively but theres no indication of it so far

I think that the two older lads should help with that and I’m hoping playing with his mate McFadzean should help Hyam get more confident.  With Fleck’s age and injuries I don’t think he can or will be expected to be box to box either so is likely to add a bit more solidity.  I think JDT approached lowly QPR still fairly attacking but now with the acknowledgement of alarm bells will look to be a bit more defensive

Is it? We could let him go for free and suddenly 15k gets slashed from the wage budget. It's seemingly the only card Broughton is allowed to play.

The manager mentioned in his radio Lancs interview at least twice that a hand grenade had been thrown in to destroy his work.

He was gagged on Friday simply because he was highly likely to call someone out for the same incompetence as last year, when it comes to getting a transfer over the line. This year the player was announced as being signed and in reality he hasn’t been.

What he excuse will we have this time and who will be the fall guy. Last year it was Greg, so if it’s him again (and I’m not convinced it really was last year) do we just shrug our shoulders and just carry on regardless?

Last years error cost us a play off place, this year’s could be the difference between us staying up and being relegated.

A balls up like that once is unforgivable, but twice should mean it is the end for those responsible, sadly it won’t be and it will be business as usual by the end of next week.

I gave Gregg the benefit of doubt last year. I think he took the fall for someone else's mistake. But at the time he said it would not happen again. If, as seems likely, there has been another monumental fuck up with the paperwork, then I'm sorry but he and whoever was responsible this time needs to go regardless of whether it was his error or not. But you're right, I won't hold my breath

I agree with you there, he either comes out and gives and honest answer about this shit show or he hands in his resignation

Who can blame them ? What is the point ? To be shit on from a dizzy height week after week. It’s like living in a psycho drama. Every time you think things might be getting on an even keel another shit show blows up.

It’s like living with an alcoholic. Things go ok for a while and then you come home from work and find them lying in a pool of their own piss. You have a bust up, things go ok again until —-+——— ! Rinse and repeat.

Sooner or later one of you has to go.

Do you remember the TV series The Prisoner. It feels something like that.

To be fair, if you come in on loan or a permanent 4 month contract, you are a contractor.

I’ve been critical of JDT for tactics and selections, and still am. However the incompetence running the club at Ewood, and the neglect from Venkys has gone on far longer than JDT and will continue to do so. All JDT is doing at the moment is making it obvious for all on the outside to see.

Of course he is doing this for self-preservation of his reputation, but the last thing I want is someone to come in and say how good a job Broughton and Waggot are doing and how we should be thankful to the owners, whilst we continue to lose our best players and replace them with free’s, loans and the odd bargain basement buy. And make no mistake, after this that will be exactly what we get. Tough situation.

Exactly

If it wasn't him it'd be someone else but the same old scenario, might be a different style of football and we might be a few points safer. That would likely have come by drawing every week, just setting out not to lose and still watching dire unenterprising stuff designed to play it safe with developing players and make maybe one look good.

A bit like Mowbrays later tenure with Armstrong in the side and Gallagher on the wing just to justify his presence.

Until there are people in the directors box who give a shit beyond just existing then that's all we'll do.

At the moment I would settle for that, instead of being the worst team in the league.

Yes that's what we need now for the remainder of the season.

Give it a year of that though and we'd be howling for a bright ambitious enterprising coach, the kind of thing Vs searched for long and hard. The kind of thing JDT actually was a year ago but there is no point in any of it under this ownership because they've managed to ruin that.

Having Armstrong in the side and Gallagher on the wing would be a vast improvement at the moment.

Selling the ground isn’t allowed in FFP any more so if they did sell it, it would be very odd.

They wouldn't sell it to comply with FFP, they'd sell it to trouser the cash and set up a ground share with Mill Hill St Peters

MHSP is a better set up, and probably has more spent on it annually on maintenance than Ewood Park at the moment. Venkys don't do 'upgrades' 😞
