Sadly Notts Forest showed that can be done - they spent £140m+ on a brand new squad (and then some).

Credit to Robins for a brave half time substitution and a change of shape - that's what good managers do. His better players got on the ball and deservedly equalised. It's up for grabs now and it could hinge on a mistake though fatigue.

Can someone please tell me why the ref is a Premier League referee and not a ref from the Championship ranks. After officiating all season are the suddenly considered unfit ?

The Championship play-off final has been a Select Group one referee for some time now. I suppose the logic is you want the best referee on the game with such huge rewards. And Oliver is the best in this country by a long way.

That also applied to our play off final v Leicester with the proviso that we got Courtney who many Rovers fans considered to be the absolute worst ref in the country.
