v Luton Town (a) - 17/9/22

Half time. Inconclusive so far. Certainly nothing like the intensity and purposefulness of Tuesday night.

We could do with someone to hold the ball up top, with Diaz and Dolan to run on.

Will be interesting to see what JDT has in the locker for the second half.

Nathan Jones really is the most odious little creature in the league, isn’t he?

He’s either on the spectrum for something, or he’s taken in copious amounts of narcotic substances before each game, but he literally cannot stand or be still for more than half a second.

Proper annoying little shit.

A really dull first half. This season, our possession based approach of endless risk averse passing across the defensive line has similarities to the one 2 years ago under Mowbray  and really stunts our attack because there is a huge disconnect between the attackers and the rest of the team.

Unsure why there is so much focus on Pickering again, he has been one of our better performers and his excellent pass set up our only real chance.

Certainly not on the front foot like Tuesday. First touch seems to go back vs forward.

Some bollocks about needing 90 min to showcase for England call up. Would prefer we have him available to help our first team than England u19

It might be the case but I find it hard to believe. My guess would be that Tomasson chose Buckley over Wharton for the bench and Edun is there as LWB cover.

Getting bullied off us this lot and they're not liking it either. Lot of cross field long balls trying to target Carter but hasn't worked. Solid so far, should be 1 up, they've created nothing.

Would still take a point but there is 3 points for us here if they try and press us too much. They're desperate for for home win, we can hurt them on the counter.

Nothing much else to say, except we need to get Dolan in the game, been a quiet half from him.

We are struggling to match up to Luton's physicality. It's like playing against a brick wall. We are doing ok defensively but too many misplaced passes when it matters. Not sure how we can improve, however, Gally still not on the bench.

I'd say it's 50/50.

Adam Wharton has signed his five year deal, he will only be covering injuries and suspensions, from now on.
