Wasn't offside.  The player in an offside position wasn't involved in play. Sick of the big nations getting favourable decisions

Hmm...

All I can say with the performances of other teams this world cup England have nothing to fear

I dont get why on an absolutely exhilarating night of drama, that you instantly compare to England who are on the opposite side of the draw.

Because we are English?
And in the World Cup we are only really looking around for who we have to eventually beat to win it?

Nevermind….

You can do both, no?

Obviously rovernout sees absolutely everything from an England perspective, but most other folk can surely enjoy watching a game on its own merits, whilst in the back of their mind every now and then think ‘hmm wonder how England would do against this French side’.

Bit like in club football, I can watch other top 6 Championship games, but still think ‘we’ll beat this lot’.

if things go as expected tomorrow its looking like Englands route to winning it all will now be Senegal,France,Spain and then Brazil in the Final,If that happens i'll be amazed.

The way this world cup is going, I wouldn't say anyone was a sure bet to get through the knockout stages now, including those you have mentioned.

I agree, it's so unpredictable.

For example, England could lose to Senegal just as easily as they could beat France.

I do think though, that when it comes to the crunch, the elite players usually step up.

Off topic why Is the championship being resumed in the middle of the world cup? Seems a bit ridiculous

Because we have to fit 46 games in somehow and the Premier League only 38.

Personally, I can't wait for it go get back. 8 days and counting.

Regarding Japan's goal, looking at all the angles on the BBC website I don't think all of the ball is over the line.

However it's not absolutely conclusive, and as the linesman ruled it out in real time, I'm not sure how it can be overturned as a clear and obvious error based on the angles seen.

Absolutely. Brazil won’t have a sure run to the final either on the ‘easier’ side - they’ll likely have to play Argentina in the semis and they haven’t beaten them in the last three attempts. That’s if the Aussies et al. don’t have something to say about it too.

All to play for!

Why do players insist on these hop skip and jump penalties. Just put the laces through it.

It really is awful when a player tries to be clever as he strolls and stutters up to the ball. It just makes it easier for the keeper. And it looks like the shocker is going to cost Ghana now. As you say just belt the bloody thing.

VAR found wanting again as a Uruguayan deliberately stamps on a Ghanaian. For some reason VAR is reluctant to get involved for violent following or serious foul play.

Weren't they described as flithy animals at the 66 world cup? They chased after the ref after he went to look at var. They scuffed up the pitch where he was taking the penalty. The keeper wasn't on his line when he saved it. They're vile. Hope Ghana turn this around and bang them

Credit where credits due, they may be cheating, diving scoundrels but Suarez can still eat an orange through a tennis racket as well as he has always done.
The animals in 1966 were the Argies.

What was the game where Portugal played someone and the presenter went on a rant about this being the most disgusting game of football he's ever seen? Was that Uruguay or was that Argentina also
