A happy clapper will be saying this isn't the Club's fault! In fact there's a post on the LT site calling fans "ungrateful" for criticising the staff who've stuffed this up. They worked night and day to pull his transfer off and all they get is hostility!

He concluded that Rovers staff will be wondering why they bother!

I think it’s because people hoped this transfer was a sign of a much needed change in ambition.

The move collapsing was bad enough but has been added to by that amateurish statement.

When Greg and JDT came in the right things got said, bit of optimism, maybe a sense of things are going to go the right way, then a couple of months later bam. Another slap across the face. Things aren’t changing anytime soon until the heads above them leave, wouldn’t matter if it was sir Alex Ferguson and John Williams, aslong those heads are above them things will always be the same, people are finally waking up it seems and fans need to reunite NOW (before it gets swept under the carpet) and let our voices be known.

Like @glen9mullan has said, there have been worse things that have happened, but this seems to have tipped the fanbase over the edge. The club will be hoping for a win over Wigan on Monday and it will all be forgotten.

My underlying feeling is disgust. The Club disgusts me, the owners disgust me, Waggott disgusts me, Pasha disgusts me, the incompetent buffoons occupying positions they shouldn't disgust me.

Then embarrassment. Where do we start. The predictability of it (some of us 'negative' folk saw this sort of thing happening on deadline day). The amateurish nature of efforts to explain what went wrong. The efforts to score cheap credit by referring to 'ambitious loan' (yes, they are actually trying to reap credit for trying but failing to borrow a player from Forest for 5 months). 

Such small minded cheap stunts and comments have Waggott's fingerprints all over it. Yet he's too much of a coward to put his name to it or front up to the fans, so instead we get a useless short statement, then JDT/Broughton will have to face the music, then in a few months when he's in a safe environment dealing with the Fans Forum he'll resurface.

After that it is sympathy. I feel sorry for Broughton and JDT, who despite being well paid are new to this shower, I don't believe are responsible for this mess and I do believe are trying their best. I feel sorry for our existing crop of players, who deserved help this January in the hope of staying up near the top of the league and having a shot at promotion. Instead we will now have to watch as Luton, Millwall, Preston and other dross make a better fist of it.

It isn't about demanding money is spent, demanding we sign certain types of players. I think one look on here and on social media tonight, even people who are usually positive about everything feel let down, embarrassed and angry at what has happened. 

But the worst part of it all is knowing nothing will change. The owners won't care or know. Nobody will be held accountable. Waggott will probably think it is a job well done as he tots up his numbers and has saved on a big wage. Then they'll expect us all to turn up on Monday to pay their wages, the scumbags sat in the directors box lording it over the fans as they rake in their obscene salaries for failure. 

I really don't want to be involved with it any more. They knock me sick and the only thing worse than that is turning up knowing that doing so is taken for granted and enabling them to carry on taking the piss out of us.

There's a few pro venkys/swag 'fans' popping up on Facebook now. I find it impossible to believe they're not club plants, either that or utterly brain washed to the point they won't have a negative word said about the club.

I can't see much of a fan reaction on Monday, unless we get well beaten and people will really go into a meltdown. More likely some vocals directed at the hierarchy next away game.

For today's catastrophe to gain any sympathy from a wider audience (remembering outside the supporter base its a transfer that aint happened and nothing more).

This needs a roll of honour putting together of all the mistakes this board has made. 

Does every body remember the article of Steve Keans Lies? All his quotes in one article? This went global and caused significant damage to his tenure and future employment opportunities.

To strike down this board, it needs pure facts in an article, in a press release, reminding firstly our supporter base of the mistakes, but also opening the eyes to those outside of our supporter base that this is not in isolation.

I learnt a lot during the chess match years ago, and if you are gonna swing, do the opposite to what they expect, as they don't see it coming  Press conferences suddenly become about whats happening off the pitch and that's how supporters ultimately get heard and the message hits the sweet spot "the owners"

But to now be in the situation we're in with these two transfers is, quite frankly, unforgivable and does nothing to breed confidence in anyone in any authority at Blackburn Rovers.

Please can you assure me that a full investigation will be undertaken to determine what happened, how / why and what lessons will be learnt, and that the findings will be made public as soon as it is possible to do so without prejudicing any appeal process? There must be transparency & accountability for what has happened.

We are a town club that has dwindled in significance in the last decade, fans have left in droves, we're competing against big city clubs with much larger fanbases, or with larger income from commercial activities, on field success or tv money. We cannot afford slip-ups like this, reputationally this is a huge own goal.

The EFL will be paranoid about a rake of challenges from other clubs that miss out on the play offs, should Rovers make the top 6.
