Even if his all round play is poor his set pieces are fantastic. Our set pieces have been mediocre all year.

He's also fallen out of favour at Huddersfield and clearly nobody has put an arm round his shoulders - he was one of their best players last season.

Yes he has something we don't have.  A good deliverer but without a good forward.  Its futile

That interview of JDT on the Rovers website is interesting. He’s obviously pissed off but he goes a bit further for me…he completely (and rightly so) ‘outs’ the other side (GB’s side) of the club. Which is risky.

But the most salient point for me is the one he makes about ‘his side’ overachieving. It feels like, for the first time, he’s peacocking which is what you do when you’re looking around for other options?

Ive said before, it’s my belief that JDT will go LONNGG before he’s pushed. He’s a born winner, incompetence like this does not exist in his world!

I would not be surprised at all if he resigned.

Great interview. He clearly doesn't suffers fools.

I wouldn't read too much into the 'peacocking' as you put it. That's a bloke who's clearly angry and is making sure everyone knows he's holding up his side of the bargain and that he and the players (and the fans) are being let down by those responsible for transfers.

Busy day for me today so only quickly skimmed through today's news/postings about this all sorry mess.

An internal review!?  Nearly choked - just who the feck at Rovers has the impartiality, nous and b@lls to carry this out?

There is not a single senior manager at Rovers I trust.  As I've said before, in my eyes, the club lost any remaining credibility it had with their 'secretive Brockhall plan'.

All this business about 'complexity' is, IMO, a nonsense.  Let's be honest, and anyone with a legal background on here would confirm, to any half decent solicitor, the contracts for O'Brien (loan / purchase / player's terms) would have been meat and drink.  Presumably, Rovers used their usual solicitors - any legal firm with a sports' sector and practicing in the football world would already have have standard draft contracts to hand which would only need variation as appropriate.

Personally, not been impressed by Broughton since he arrived at the club.  Some say judge him on results and I have.  IMO, a bullsh1tter out of his depth.

I don't think you understand what that term means.

This basic administrative error (which apparently has happened multiple times before - someone mentioned DJ Campbell specifically) is a symptom of a larger issue. This is a terribly run club and it's clear for all to see.

That's got nothing to do with failing to send off forms, when there is no proof it has happened before.

Whatabouttery - the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counter-accusation or raising a different issue.

So fantastic that Huddersfield have decided they don’t need him for a relegation fight. Good set piece delivery means nothing if you can take advantage of it, and Giles came with the same dead ball set piece reputation and I don’t recall much from him.
All I’m saying is he’s not some great coup. He’s a cast off from one of our divisional rivals who may prove decent.

Because we don't have anyone on the ground that has the willingness to do the right thing, They're all on too cushy a number because the owner don't take enough interest so why upset the gravy train.

This will stay like this until Venkys are gone. It's as simple as that!!!!

This has been the number one issue since relegation.

It doesn't take people long to suss out how to work it and how sucking up to the owners and toeing the line trumps anything else at Ewood.

Do that and they'll persist with you even if you are inept.

So we wheel him on from the sub's bench to take free kicks and corners then wheel him off again afterwards

Good idea?

What's even worse is they were in discussions with Forest and the player for 6 weeks before deadline day.

6 weeks and they couldn't get round the 'complexities'

Laughable.

I would hope that all those asking for heads to roll from this incident have never fucked up once in their lives

Not sure about anyone else, but no I've never f***ed up on that level. I'm sure the majority of the general public haven't.

If I was involved in a multi million deal I'd definitely proof read the documents I was sending, along with whoever I was with to double and triple check.

I'm certain some fans still think of football on a jumpers for goalposts level.

I want him to be involved with updating the processes so they're idiot proof. Ideally I'd like to see the Club Secretary removed from his role too, but again that's beyond his power to control.

Maybe part of updating the processes could include not employing idiots in the first place…

I'd just play him ahead of Hedges, who has no end product despite being one of our best footballers.

If I was brave I'd play him ahead of Brereton-Diaz, who hasn't scored for 11 games.

An internal review into what - common sense (or lack of it?). Like most people I've never been involved in transfer negotiations (or big business deals for that matter) but the failings at Ewood in the window didn't require any specialist knowledge or skills, only getting some absolute basics right that anyone with a reasonable IQ would have  achieved.

The transfer debacle was sloppy, it was poor, it was people not doing their job properly, and it should not have happened. It doesn't need an "internal review"

Agreed - this isn't just a standard workday cock-up, this is a potentially season/future of the club defining moment.

It's not an event that can be just swept under the carpet; it won't just be forgotten about.

Somebody has to be held accountable.

Not viewed the video but he looks totally dumbfounded on the still, and who can blame him. Probably beyond his worst nightmare 🙈

Hope you’re right. I’m not saying JDT will resign but it wouldn’t surprise me.

I’m gutted it’s turned out this way….had we signed Undav and O’brien on deadline day on top of Thomas and progressing in the cup, the feel good factor would be huge now. As it is, the clubs reputation is in tatters internally and externally.

Yeap, really is a big opportune missed! You feel if we loose on Monday the crowd will turn. Big 3 points I needed & also a good performance.
